Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology and access to information in the digital age has greatly impacted children, known as the digital native generation. While technology offers easy access to information and educational tools, it also presents risks such as internet addiction and exposure to harmful content. The family, especially parents, plays a crucial role in shaping children's character. Parents need to teach, guide, and protect children from the negative impacts of technology. This article delves into the concept of democratic parenting, which is considered effective in addressing these challenges. In this approach, there is an emphasis on two-way communication, allowing both parents and children to express their opinions. It focuses on setting realistic boundaries, balanced supervision, and responsible development of digital skills. This parenting style helps children learn to manage their screen time and develop healthy digital habits. Additionally, children are taught to think critically, respect diverse opinions, and become independent. Parents should familiarize themselves with their children's technology, set time limits for using digital devices, choose safe and educational content, and actively engage in their children's digital activities. With the right guidance, children can utilize technology for positive self-development, tackle technological challenges, and grow into responsible, critical, and adaptable individuals.

Abstract

This community service activity is entitled Innovation in Household Waste Management Based on 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in Anjir Village, Pulang Pisau Regency). This program is motivated by the increasing volume of household waste and the low practice of 3R-based management in Anjir Village, which has led to environmental and public health problems. The implementation method includes socialization, education, and training for residents on waste sorting, reducing the use of single-use plastics, reusing usable items, and processing organic waste with a household composter. In addition, this activity also introduced a digital waste bank system that facilitates the recording of deposits and waste savings results. The results of the activity show an increase in community understanding and skills in applying the 3R principle. The community has begun to get used to sorting waste, utilizing organic waste into compost, and saving inorganic waste through a waste bank. This program also encourages the growth of collective awareness about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and opportunities for a circular economy based on waste. Overall, this community service activity produces a simple, applicable, and sustainable model for household waste management innovation. It is hoped that this model can be replicated in other villages as an effort to support waste reduction while improving environmental quality and community welfare.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to develop a tutoring application that integrates the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning concept with the local wisdom of Central Kalimantan for the Super Class tutoring program in Pulang Pisau Regency. This initiative emerged in response to the need for innovative learning media that are culturally relevant, technologically supported, and can enhance students' understanding of STEM subjects while also strengthening their connection to regional identity. The application is equipped with interactive learning modules, contextual STEM problem-solving activities, and digital content that highlights local knowledge, such as traditional environmental practices, indigenous technologies, and regional cultural values. The program uses a participatory design approach, involving tutors, students, and local education stakeholders through needs assessments, focus group discussions, prototype development, and iterative testing. The implementation results show that this application increases student engagement, improves their understanding of STEM concepts, and facilitates more dynamic tutoring sessions. Furthermore, this digital platform enhances the operational capacity of the Super Class tutoring program by expanding service reach and supporting integrated learning modes. This PKM demonstrates that integrating STEM education with local wisdom through digital innovation can enrich the learning experience, support cultural preservation, and strengthen community-based education services in Pulang Pisau.
