Abstract

The synthetic eyelash manufacturing industry in Indonesia, particularly PT Hyup Sung Indonesia (HSI) in Purbalingga, faces ongoing challenges in maintaining product quality due to a high incidence of defects. This study aims to analyze and mitigate production-related risks through the application of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). FMEA is utilized to systematically identify potential failure modes and prioritize improvement efforts based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN), while FTA is employed to trace the root causes of critical failures in a hierarchical structure. The FMEA results identified three major failure modes with the highest RPN values: knot misalignment during opening (RPN 150), insufficient application of adhesive (RPN 140), and curling of the knot during opening (RPN 140). FTA revealed that these issues primarily arise from equipment-related factors, operator handling methods, and inconsistencies in the oven-setting process. Based on these findings, several corrective actions are proposed, including the replacement of production tools (racks and brushes), installation of automatic timers, standardization of operating procedures, and operator training programs. The implementation of these measures is expected to reduce the risk of production failures and enhance the overall quality of synthetic eyelash products

Abstract

In the wake of the recent global pandemic, COVID-19, companies need to maintain performance and manage firm risk. Companies should understand what can affect the firm's risk. This paper investigates the impact of board diversity and derivatives use on firm risk. The sample consists of 35 Indonesian LQ45 listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with an observation period of 2016–2020. The company's risk is proxied by the standard deviation of stock returns. This study uses a panel data regression model, namely fixed effect regression and random effect regression. The results of this study indicate that female board directorship is negatively associated with firm risk. It shows the significant role of female board directors in the company's board. Meanwhile, the use of derivatives has no significant effect on the firm risk. These results impact the development of literature that examines the influence of board diversity and the use of derivatives for hedging in Indonesia so that companies can determine company policies to reduce risk.

Abstract

Implementing regional autonomy gives local governments the authority to provide freedom in regulating and managing their area. Rural development is an essential part of supporting the success of regional development. However, problems were found in the information system and management of village economic data, which resulted in slow village government work processes in collecting information system data and the difficulty for the community to obtain information about the village economy. This study aims to analyze the East Java Provincial Government in initiating the SI Desa Service as a form of providing information system services and computer-based village data management and an integrated website that is easy to access for users. This qualitative research uses an analytical tool as a business model canvas with secondary data because it can develop SI Desa Services through its nine components. The research results by the Provincial Government of East Java through the Community and Village Empowerment Office, which collaborated through a memorandum of understanding with other stakeholders involved in initiating an ideal information system for village economic data management in the SI Desa Service. This integrated service will become a village economic information system and data management that is transparent, accountable, and right on target and can be monitored for its usefulness. The village government can provide excellent service so that all villages integrated with this service can become more resilient and self-sufficient.
