This study investigates the influence of tennis on the social mobility of an African-American family and how it shapes their pursuit of the American Dream. Employing qualitative research methods, this study utilizes elements of mise-en-scène in film analysis and social mobility theory to comprehensively explore how an African-American family uses tennis as a means to achieve their American Dream. The research reveals that Richard Williams' journey as a Black man determined to guide his daughters, Venus and Serena, to become world tennis champions, challenged deep-rooted racial barriers within American society. Furthermore, motivation, education, and achievement were significant factors influencing the upward social mobility of the Williams family. Despite not coming from a high social status background, the Williams family used tennis as a pathway to achieve their American Dream. This research argues that tennis broke societal boundaries and cemented the Williams family's legacy as a living embodiment of the American Dream. Their story stands as a testament to the boundless possibilities that determination and resilience through sports can offer, even when confronted with significant racial challenges and social disparities.

Kabupaten Gresik memiliki kemampuan menerapkan Good Governance melalui Sistem Pemerintahan Berbasis Elektronik (SPBE) khususnya dalam tata kelola keuangan daerah dimana penerapan Sistem Informasi Pemerintahan Daerah (SIPD) menjadi kunci kesuksesan E-government. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas perencanaan anggaran, dan faktor penghambat dalam SIPD di Kabupaten Gresik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan induktif, karena penulis melakukan pengamatan terlebih dahulu terhadap permasalahan kemudian melakukan penarikan kesimpulan yang berasal dari kegiatan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam perencanaan anggaran dalam SIPD sudah efektif. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari enam dimensi efektivitas perencanaan menurut Handoko, (2003:103). Pertama, dimensi Kegunaan, SIPD sudah efektif dalam layanan sarana informasi yang terintegrasi antara pemerintah pusat dan daerah. Kedua, dimensi ketepatan dan objektivitas, bahwa SIPD menciptakan keakuratan dalam perencanaan anggaran. Ketiga, dilihat dari dimensi ruang lingkup bahwa SIPD telah sesuai dengan prioritas yang dibutuhkan dalam tahapan-tahapan penyusunan perencanaan anggaran. Keempat, dimensi efektivitas biaya, bahwa sistem ini kedepannya tidak memerlukan biaya dalam penerapannya sehingga efisien dari segi biaya. Kelima, dimensi Akuntabilitas, dengan adanya aplikai ini input data tepat waktu dalam perencanaan sampai dengan cetak data. Keenam, dimenai ketepatan waktu bahwa aplikasi ini realtime dimana verifikasi input data oleh OPD atas kegiatan dalam satu tahun. Hambatan perencanaan dalam SIPD ini yaitu keterlambatan OPD dalam penginputan SIPD, dokumen fisik penyusunan perencanaan anggaran terlalu tebal, tidak memiliki hak akses untuk merubah dan menetapkan kegiatan dan verifikasi TAPD yang membutuhkan waktu lama

This research aims to investigate the prejudice experienced by young Muslims in the United States and examine their responses as portrayed in Saadia Faruqi’s Yusuf Azeem is not a Hero (2021). The writers use close textual analysis in analyzing the primary text to examine the prejudice and responses portrayed by the young Muslims in the novel. In doing so, the writers employ Gordon Allport's theory of prejudice to comprehend the prejudice experienced by young Muslims and Simpson & Yinger's theory of response to prejudice to examine the responses of young Muslims. The results of the analysis reveal that young Muslim-Americans experience prejudice in various forms, which affects their social lives and shapes their identities. Their responses to this prejudice also vary, depending on the specific situation, their personal experiences, and their understanding of the 9/11 tragedy. Thus, responses were seen in the form of resistance and negotiation of their identities. This study reveals that the 9/11 tragedy significantly impacted the Muslim community, especially Muslim youth who did not experience the tragedy but being subjected to discrimination and physical violence.

The integration of digital literacy into language learning has been widely explored, yet studies focusing on adult English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ digital competence in academic settings remain limited. Previous research has highlighted general digital literacy frameworks (Reddy et al., 2023; Fadilah, 2023), teacher digital competence gaps (Giannikas et al., 2022), and the positive correlation between digital literacy and language proficiency (Wahyuddin et al., 2024). However, these studies have not specifically examined how adult EFL learners navigate digital literacy challenges, particularly in critical evaluation of online resources and cybersecurity awareness. This study aims to assess the digital competence of adult EFL learners, focusing on five key dimensions: general digital competence, technology integration in language learning, digital literacy and skills, digital communication and collaboration, and online safety. Using a structured questionnaire administered to 56 university students, the findings indicate that while students demonstrate strong proficiency in basic digital tasks and language learning applications (71% overall digital competence score), they struggle with critically evaluating online resources and cybersecurity practices. These results emphasize the need for structured pedagogical strategies, including targeted digital literacy training and collaborative learning environments, to enhance EFL learners’ technological integration skills. This study contributes to the effective implementation of digital literacy in EFL education by addressing the specific challenges faced by adult learners, ultimately fostering their linguistic and digital proficiency in academic and professional contexts. The findings imply that EFL programs should include targeted digital literacy education that tackles critical thinking and online safety. Strengthening these areas will enable adult learners to effectively navigate digital settings, promoting academic achievement as well as lifetime digital involvement.

Solar cell merupakan pembangkit listrik yang mampu mengkonversi sinar matahari menjadi arus listrik. Energi matahari merupakan sumber energi paling mempunyai kontribusi, mengingat sifatnya yang berkelanjutan (sustainable) serta jumlahnya yang sangat besar. Internet of Things (IoT) memiliki gagasan yang berencana untuk memperluas manfaat jaringan web yang terhubung tanpa henti, di samping kemampuan pengontrol, berbagi informasi, dan lainnya. Alat ini digunakan untuk mengolah data yang diterima dari sensor INA219 sehingga data dapat diolah yang kemudian dipublish ke Thingspeak. Hasil output pada sensor INA219 dipengaruhi oleh intensitas cahaya matahari terhitung dari pukul 09.30 sampai dengan 16.00 WIB. Hasil pengujian perbandingan antara 1 dan 2 buah lampu menunjukan kesesuaian. Karena, menunjukan perbedaan hasil pemakaian. Sensor tegangan dan arus yang digunakan berfungsi dengan baik untuk membandingkan efisiensi pemkaian solar panel dan baterai.
