Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of student character development in a coastal madrasah at MA Al-Washliyah in Nagur Village, Tanjung Beringin District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The focus of the study includes four main aspects: the management of character development through the introduction of moral concepts and character education values, the management of character habituation through repeated practices, the management of reflective activities, and the management of the integration of moral actions in a natural and consistent manner. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis, with the main informants consisting of the head of the madrasah, vice principal, teachers, and students. The results of the study indicate that character development at MA Al-Washliyah in Nagur Village has been managed in a planned and contextual manner in accordance with the characteristics of the coastal environment. The introduction of moral values is carried out through integration in the learning process, the exemplary behavior of educators, and the utilization of religious learning resources. Character habituation is implemented through consistent daily routines and continuous supervision. Reflection is conducted through dialogical approaches and counseling that help students understand the moral meaning of their actions. Furthermore, the integration of moral actions is reflected in students’ behavior, which becomes increasingly independent and consistent and is embodied in the school culture. This study concludes that the management of character development at MA Al-Washliyah in Nagur Village is implemented systematically and sustainably through the stages of introduction, habituation, reflection, and integration of moral values. However, the effectiveness of character development is still influenced by external factors, such as family and community environments. Therefore, strengthening the synergy between schools, families, and communities is necessary to ensure the sustainability of character education reinforcement for students in coastal madrasahs

Abstract

Abstract: This research explores the implementation of student affairs management in supporting students’ achievements in non-academic domains at SMPN 1 Percut Sei Tuan. The study highlights how planning, execution, and evaluation of extracurricular activities are carried out to foster students' interests and talents. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the data were gathered through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The study found that planning takes place at the start of each academic term, beginning with identifying students’ preferences and abilities through an introductory orientation. Activities are then implemented based on coordinated schedules between students and activity coaches, with logistical and financial support provided by the school. Evaluations are conducted regularly during school coordination meetings to monitor progress and resolve implementation challenges. Although time constraints and overlapping with academic lessons are recurring issues, the school strives to maintain balance between formal and extracurricular learning. The findings also show that students have attained notable achievements in competitions across district, regional, and provincial levels. In summary, student management plays a vital role in advancing non-academic development. Key success factors include strategic planning, consistent coaching support, and continuous evaluation, all of which contribute to holistic student growth. Keywords: Student Management, Student Development, Non-Academic Achievements Abstrak: Penelitian ini membahas implementasi manajemen kesiswaan dalam mendukung pencapaian prestasi siswa di bidang non akademik di SMPN 1 Percut Sei Tuan. Kajian ini menitikberatkan pada proses perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kegiatan ekstrakurikuler sebagai bentuk pengembangan minat dan bakat peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, serta analisis dokumen. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa proses perencanaan dimulai pada awal tahun ajaran dengan mengenali potensi dan minat siswa melalui kegiatan orientasi ekstrakurikuler. Selanjutnya, kegiatan dilaksanakan berdasarkan kesepakatan jadwal antara siswa dan pembina, dengan dukungan fasilitas, pendanaan, dan sarana dari pihak sekolah. Evaluasi dilakukan secara rutin dalam forum koordinasi sekolah untuk mengkaji perkembangan serta mengatasi kendala pelaksanaan. Meskipun terdapat hambatan seperti terbatasnya waktu latihan dan benturan dengan jadwal pelajaran, sekolah tetap berupaya menjaga sinergi antara kegiatan akademik dan non akademik. Hasilnya, siswa berhasil meraih prestasi di berbagai kompetisi tingkat kecamatan, kabupaten, hingga provinsi. Secara keseluruhan, manajemen kesiswaan terbukti memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung pengembangan potensi siswa secara non akademik. Faktor kunci keberhasilan mencakup perencanaan yang sistematis, dukungan pembina yang berkelanjutan, serta proses evaluasi yang konsisten dalam membina karakter dan kompetensi siswa secara menyeluruh. Abstract

Abstract: This Nurus Salam Private Elementary School is one of the educational institutions of the Nurus Salam educational foundation. However, in its implementation, this Nurus Salam Private Elementary School seems more advanced than other educational institutions so I am interested in studying more deeply how the curriculum development is applied in this Nurus Salam Private Elementary School. Because the progress of Elementary Schools or other educational institutions is marked by several factors, including the factor of a good and neatly arranged curriculum. In writing this thesis, the researcher used a qualitative research method. Data collection techniques in this study were in the form of interviews, observations and documentation studies. There are several steps taken by MIS Nurus Salam in determining the objectives of the Curriculum. The first is collecting data from the Community, the second is analyzing student needs, the third is ensuring that the curriculum used is in accordance with national and international standards. The first step taken by MIS Nurus Salam in determining the content of the curriculum is to analyze the needs of students and the surrounding community, then review the existing curriculum, MIS Nurus Salam also asks for suggestions from parents and teachers, In addition, MIS Nurus Salam also invites practitioners to provide input on the content of their curriculum. Furthermore, integrating the latest education policies into the content of the curriculum to ensure that the education provided is in accordance with the standards and needs of the times.Keywords: Strategy, Curriculum Development, Madrasah. Abstrak: Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta Nurus Salam ini merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan dari yayasan perguruan Nurus salam. Namun, dalam pelaksanaannya Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta Nurus Salam ini tampak lebih maju dari lembaga pendidikan lainnya sehingga saya tertarik untuk mengkaji lebih dalam bagaimana pengembangan kurikulum yang diterapkan di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta Nurus Salam ini. Karena kemajuan Madrasah Ibtidaiyah atau lembaga pendidikan lainnya ditandai dengan beberapa faktor, diantaranya dari faktor kurikulumnya yang bagus dan tertata rapi. Dalam penulisan ini peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Ada beberapa Langkah yang dilakukan oleh MIS Nurus Salam dalam menentukan tujuan Kurikulum. Yang pertama mengumpulkan data dari Masyarakat, kedua menganalisis kebutuhan siswa, ketiga memastikan bahwa kirikulum yang yang digunakan sesui dengan standar nasional maupun internasional. Langkah pertama yang dilakukan MIS Nurus Salam dalam menentukan isi kurikulum ialah menganalisis kebutuhan siswa dan Masyarakat sekitar selanjunya mengkaji kurikulum yang sudah ada, MIS Nurus Salam juga meminta saran dari orang tua dan guru, Salain itu MIS Nurus Salam juga mengundang praktisi untuk memberikan masukan tentang isi kurikulum mereka. Selanjunya Mengintegrasikan kebijakan pendidikan terbaru ke dalam isi kurikulum guna memastikan bahwa pendidikan yang diberikan sesuai dengan standar dan kebutuhan zaman.Kata kunci: Strategi, Pengembangan Kurikulum, Madrasah.
