Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of the church in environmental conservation and identify pastoral strategies that can be implemented to enhance the awareness and participation of congregants in ecological responsibility. Through a case study at GMIM Syalom Tuminting Church, this study reveals the importance of developing church programs focused on environmental preservation and the necessity of involving all congregants in supporting and executing these programs. Active participation of congregants in environmental stewardship, both through church programs and personal initiatives, is identified as a key element in caring for creation as part of spiritual responsibility. The research also underscores the importance of ongoing research and educational activities to increase the understanding and awareness of congregants about the significance of environmental responsibility. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for other churches in developing effective pastoral strategies for environmental conservation and inspiring congregants to engage in sustainable ecological efforts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang memberikan deskripsi tentang anak tunanetra dari perspektif pastoral konseling. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dukungan spritual dan emosional yang diberikan melalui konseling pastoral kepada anak tunanetra. Serta dengan harapan diri yang positif menjadi fokus penting untuk mendukung spiritual dan emosional anak tunanetra. Anak tunanetra merupakan individu memiliki gangguan penglihatan yang mengakibatkan keterbatasan dalam melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan merekonstruksi peran pastoral konseling keluarga dalam menangani lansia yang mengalami isolasi sosial dan ekonomi di Tagulandang. Fenomena meningkatnya jumlah lansia tidak diimbangi dengan kesiapan sistem sosial dan keluarga dalam memberikan dukungan yang memadai, sehingga banyak lansia mengalami kesepian, keterasingan, serta penurunan kualitas hidup. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitis. Data diperoleh dari berbagai sumber literatur ilmiah dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pastoral konseling keluarga memiliki peran strategis sebagai pendekatan holistik yang mampu mengintegrasikan dimensi spiritual, psikologis, sosial, dan ekonomi dalam pendampingan lansia. Namun, praktik pastoral yang masih bersifat konvensional dan berfokus pada aspek spiritual semata belum mampu menjawab kompleksitas permasalahan lansia. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan rekonstruksi pendekatan pastoral yang lebih kontekstual, integratif, dan berbasis keluarga serta komunitas. Rekonstruksi ini mencakup pemberdayaan keluarga sebagai sistem pendukung utama, penguatan komunitas gereja sebagai ruang sosial lansia, serta pengembangan model pastoral yang responsif terhadap realitas sosial-ekonomi. Dengan demikian, pastoral konseling keluarga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kualitas hidup lansia dan mengatasi isolasi sosial serta ekonomi secara komprehensif.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and explain the application of pastoral counseling functions, particularly the sustaining function, within the framework of the values contained in the Mepalos’e Culture in the Sangihe Islands Regency. This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach to explore relevant theological concepts and local wisdom. The results show that generally, pastoral counseling functions include healing, sustaining, guiding, reconciling, and nurturing as a form of holistic ministry. Specifically, the sustaining function plays a vital role in accompanying those who are experiencing life crises by being present, providing support, helping them accept new realities, and rediscovering the meaning of life. The Mepalos’e Culture, which is rooted in the principle of mutual support and sharing burdens, has a strong alignment with the essence of this pastoral function. This proves that the application of pastoral ministry adapted to local culture becomes more relevant, easily accepted, and effectively addresses the spiritual and social needs of the community in a deeper manner.

Abstract

This article develops a pastoral theology that is suitable for the lifestyle and context of individuals in Manado, serving as contextual pastoral counselling. Similar to how theology is influenced by its context, pastoral theology is similarly shaped by its specific context. Despite its inclusion within Indonesia, the background of Manado diverges from that of other locations in the country. Consequently, the pastoral theology perspective that is formulated will also vary. By employing the techniques of observation and literary analysis from a lived religion perspective, it was determined that the pastoral approach developed in Manado originates from the setting of a prominent consumerist lifestyle, which is characteristic of the people in Manado within the larger Indonesian society. The commonly repeated statement that is said to support this lifestyle is "biar kalah nasi mar jang kalah aksi" (even if you don't eat, you have to be stylish). This extravagant lifestyle has the potential to create issues within the family and give rise to numerous other familial problems, as it is associated with excessive spending or squandering of significant amounts of money.
