Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of sacrificial worship in the perspective of authentic hadith of Al-Bukhari with a case study on the Muslim community in Tembung Village. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a living hadith approach, which involves direct observation, interviews, and literature reviews of hadiths related to qurbani worship. The results of the study show that although the implementation of sacrificial worship in Tembung Village is generally in accordance with the guidance of Islamic law, there are several practices that are less than optimal in the application of the sunnah, such as the installment system in the purchase of sacrificial animals, sacrificing on behalf of the deceased, the mixing of sacrificial meat from various participants, to the provision of slaughterers' wages taken from the sacrificial animal parts. This study emphasizes the importance of a deep understanding of hadith as a source of Islamic law so that the practice of sacrificial worship can be carried out in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH and have higher spiritual and social values

Abstract

Bullying remains a real problem within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), even though these institutions are oriented toward the development of Islamic morals and character. The gap between the Islamic values taught and the daily practices of students (santri) serves as the primary background of this research. This study aims to analyze the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) concerning the prohibition of bullying and to examine the implementation of these values in the lives of students at Pondok Pesantren Al-Ikhwan Assalam Serapuh, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. A qualitative approach with field research was employed, involving 10 informants (1 administrator, 2 caretakers, 1 teacher, and 6 students) selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model and a thematic hadith approach (mawḍū‘ī). The findings reveal that verbal bullying is the most dominant form and is often perceived as joking, thus frequently unrecognized as a violation of Islamic teachings; social bullying was also found, while physical and psychological bullying occurred at lower intensities. Contributing factors include students' limited understanding of bullying boundaries, excessive joking culture, textual religious comprehension, and suboptimal anti-bullying socialization. Implementation of hadith values is carried out through role modeling by caretakers, supervision of student interactions, hadith-based religious instruction, and enforcement of rules with educational sanctions. The study concludes that hadiths prohibiting bullying have strong relevance as a normative foundation for anti-bullying efforts; however, the internalization of these values into students' behavior remains suboptimal. Therefore, strengthening moral development, systematic anti-bullying socialization, and continuous habituation of hadith values are essential to create a safe, harmonious, and Islamically characterized boarding school environment.

Abstract

This study examines M. Quraish Shihab’s interpretation of three communication prohibitions in QS. Al-Hujurat [49]: 11—as-sukhriyah, al-lamz, and at-tanābuz bil-alqāb—and their relevance to contemporary verbal violence. It focuses on the conceptual relationship among the three prohibitions in Tafsir Al-Misbah and their contribution to Islamic communication ethics. This qualitative library research uses the Qur’an and Tafsir Al-Misbah as primary sources, supported by exegetical works, Arabic dictionaries, books, journal articles, and other relevant literature. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis through identification, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that as-sukhriyah, al-lamz, and at-tanābuz bil-alqāb are not separate prohibitions but form an integrated communication ethics oriented toward preserving human dignity (hifz al-‘irḍ), strengthening ukhuwah, and preventing various forms of humiliation. The main root of these prohibitions is a sense of superiority over others. This interpretation is relevant for reading contemporary verbal violence such as cyberbullying, body shaming, hate speech, and derogatory nicknames in digital media. Therefore, QS. Al-Hujurat [49]: 11 can serve as a normative foundation for building respectful, ethical, and dignified communication culture.
