Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to identify the main determinants that cause truck round time (TRT) service times to exceed standards and analyze their impact on operational efficiency at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya. Qualitative research methods with a triangulation approach were used to collect and analyze data. The research results show that the average annual TRT exceeds the standard of 30 minutes: 42.03 minutes (2021), 41.66 minutes (2022), and 41.38 minutes (2023). Key factors include crowding in the stacking yard, equipment problems, human resource skills and discipline, and adverse weather conditions. The impacts of high TRT include disruption of loading and unloading activities, increased operational costs, and decreased customer loyalty, which threatens the performance and sustainability of a company's business relationships.

Abstract

As one of the transportation infrastructures, the port has a strategic role to support the transportation system because it is a node point of connection between regions/countries. The human resources of Benoa port in the operational field are not balanced with the infrastructure, due to the lack of skill development in the use of embarkation and debarkation equipment. The operational service process requires improvement to reduce ship waiting time. A data collection must be supported by appropriate techniques and accompanied by systematic implementation, to obtain more complete, objective, and accountable data. Research with the title “Optimization of Operational Services at the East Pier of PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Benoa Branch” resulted in the discovery of difficulties related to the services provided by Benoa Port human resources and the availability of escort facilities at the port. With the current operational conditions of the port, the international terminal operational service procedures related to HR arrangements at Benoa Port are in accordance with operational needs in the executive and functional fields for domestic services. The existing supporting equipment is also adequate for international cruise ship services.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the infrastructure of Oransbari Port in Papua, focusing on supporting infrastructure for efficient maritime logistics distribution in the Sea Toll Program. The background of this research wants to reveal the importance of reliable port infrastructure in facilitating logistics distribution, especially in the geographically isolated Papua region. The improvement of port infrastructure is expected to improve inter-island connectivity and maritime logistics distribution, which has a door-to-door paradigm. This research focuses on analyzing Oransbari port infrastructure as part of the effort to realize the efficiency of maritime logistics distribution through the Sea Toll Program. The study involved interviews with relevant stakeholders, such as port authorities, maritime logistics managers, and other related parties, and distributing questionnaires and field surveys related to port activities. The research stages involved port infrastructure mapping, capacity evaluation, loading and unloading speed analysis, and identification of potential improvements. The study results are expected to provide concrete infrastructure improvement recommendations to increase the efficiency of logistics distribution at Oransbari Port and support the success of the Sea Toll Program in the region.
