Abstract

The study of Translating the Qur'an into Palembang Language: Strengthening Regional Languages and Local Wisdom has never been studied. The phenomenon of the extinction of regional languages in Indonesia seems to have become a problem that has attracted the attention of many scientists, especially linguists, including the extinction of the Palembang regional language. This is marked by the construction of the smooth Palembang language both in speech and in writing so far many speakers have forgotten it. So it is natural that the absorption of Palembang language into Indonesian is only 28 vocabularies or around 077% and ranks 17th. Meanwhile, the five regional languages that are mostly absorbed by Indonesian are Javanese, Minangkabau, Jakarta Malay, Sundanese and Madurese. Therefore this research is important for elaborating the Translation of the Qur'an into Palembang Language: Strengthening Regional Languages and Local Wisdom. This type of research is literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach. The primary data source is the Al-Qur'an and its translation (Palembang language) and the dynamics of translating the Koran into the regional language of Palembang. Secondary data is sourced from relevant articles, journals and books. Data collection techniques through data collection techniques used heuristics and interpretation, namely collecting various data sources related to the problem being studied. Technical data analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. This research resulted in the finding that the Al-Qur'an and its translation in the Smooth Language of Palembang are a form of strengthening the Palembang language and efforts to preserve local wisdom. Through translating the Koran, the team has attempted to reproduce the almost extinct Pelembang flower. Recommendations to the authorities to appreciate the vocabulary of Merdeka Pelembang in translating the Koran into Indonesian vocabulary absorption.

Abstract

The 19th century was the peak of the mission era and the beginning of the 20th century was the period of independence of the Protestant Church by inviting various missionary organizations from Europe to carry out their missions in the Dutch East Indies. This was a major threat to Muslims, including Palembang Malay Muslims. This article seeks to complement existing research with the aim of knowing the resistance factors of local elites in the Palembang Malay community. This study uses a socio-historical approach by making use of James C. Scoot’s resistance theory. Scoot’s theory of resistance. This study concludes that the resistance of local elites in Palembang Malay society is caused by the central role of local religious elites in preaching and teaching the Muslim community in Palembang to remote areas. The elites a r e in the category of free ulama. Figures such as Abdullah Munsyi and the Samaniyah tarekat teachers who made various efforts to save Muslims from Islamic politics run by the Dutch East Indies. Efforts were made such as the construction of various places that served as centers of Islamic studies such as langgar, mosques, and madrasas.

Abstract

Umat Katolik terhubung dengan para Rasul itu melalui para bapa gereja, karena para bapa gereja merupakan murid dari para rasul ataupun murid dari murid para rasul; dengan perkataan lain, merekalah yang dengan setia meneruskan ajaran dari para rasul. Melalui kesaksian para bapa gereja inilah umat memperoleh kitab-kitab Injil, dan merekalah yang menentukan kanon kitab suci, yang terdiri dari kitab-kitab yang diyakini sebagai yang diilhami oleh Roh Kudus.

Abstract

Sebagai seorang nabi dan guru yang berkeliling, Yesus membentuk duabelas murid-Nya, Hanya Yesuslah yang memanggil orang-orang berdosa, terbuang dan tersingkir dari masyarakat supaya bertobat dan menjadi murid-muridnya. Karena Israil dan khususnya para murid supaya mengerti misteri perutusan serta kematian-Nya. Wafat-Nya adalah dasar serta awal Perjanjian Baru dan penyelesaian Perjanjian Lama. Komunitas yang didirikan oleh Yesus dan diurapi oleh Roh Kudus sebagai tanda terakhir kehendak Allah untuk menyelamatkan seluruh umat manusia. Selanjutnya Gereja Kristen lahir pada hari Pantekosta. Setelah Petrus menyampaikan khutbahnya gereja adalah persekutuan orang yang dipanggil oleh Kristus. Persekutuan ini bukan hanya dengan Kristus tetapi juga persekutuan dengan manusia lain, dalam pada itu persekutuan itu gereja melaksanakan amanat Tuhan

Abstract

Konsili Vatikan I yang didominasi oleh definisi infalibilitas paus yang pasti merupakan konsili kontoversial di dalam gereja Katolik dan dalam hubungannya dengan gereja-gereja lain serta dunia luas. Konsili menyatakan hal-hal yang tidak dapat diterima oleh banyak orang dan peristiwa ini tampaknya memperlihatkan Gereja Katolok ada pada puncak keagresifannya dan keotoriterannya. Konsili Vatikan I muncul secara mengagetkan menurut Norman P. Tanner ( 2003: 108) Konsili Trento tampaknya masih memberikan penjabaran teologi Katolik Roma secara memadai dan tidak terasa kebutuhan untuk melangkah lebih jauh dari rumusannya, teristimewa dalam perdebatan dengan gereja-gereja Protestan yang masih sangat banyak mengambil sikap mempertahankan diri, Konsili lain tampaknya tidak diperlukan. Namun pada ranah lain telah terjadi banyak peristiwa. Revolusi Perancis 1789 maupun revolusi industri yang berawal pada akhir abad 18, menimbulkan perubahan-perubahan besar pada suasana politik, sosial dan ekonomi di dunia Barat. Pencerahan abad 18 memicu timbulnya banyak tantangan intelektual pada agama Kristiani dan ini diperumit pada abad berikutnya oleh kemajuan dalam bidang IPA yang memunculkan masalah lebih lanjut, seperti penyelidikan Darwin.

Abstract

The almost comprehensive note about Buddhism in The Archipelago is written by I’tsing. The note was made in 672 when he had stayed for six month in Sriwijaya to learn Sanskrit before he learned Buddhism in India. From the note, it is known that Srivijaya was the center of Buddhist study in Asia and had close relation to the Buddhist schools in India. There were many pupils from China and Tibet who studied Buddhism in Srivijaya.  Unfortunately, the fame of Buddhism in Srivijaya has disappeared for almost three millennia. In 1954, the commomeration of 2500 years on the development of Buddhism was held in Indonesia. The moment was considered as the Buddhism revivalism in Indonesia dubbed as Buddha Jayanti moment.

Abstract

Hindu in South Sumatera initially developed in Pali area, because of the historical heritage the form of Bumi Ayu temple in Bumi Ayu village, Tanah Abang, Muaraenim Regency, South Sumatera Province. The style of art, statues of the Hindu pantheon that ever found in South Sumatra are estimated to come from around the VII - XV century AD. Thus, it can be presumed that Hinduism has evolved since before Sriwijaya spread its wings in the late seventh century. This teaching also develops in the years since then even in the X-XII AD century, Hinduism reached the peak of its development. This was proved by the discovery of statues and buildings on the site of the temple Tanah Abang. In the next period of Hinduism flourished around the XV century AD marked with the findings of three bronze statues in the city of Palembang. Then Hindus in southern Sumatra in the era of the 2000s did a wide range of religious activities. Then they established Pura Agung Sriwijaya .

Abstract

For Catholics, Jesus was the only legitimate way to salvation. Then the consequence of that was the creed outside the church as heretical teaching. The Inquisition was a tribunal set up by the church to investigate (inquirere from Latin), whether the statement of faith of the members in accordance  with  the  teachings  of  the  church.  Based  on  historical  fact,  there  are  three  kinds  of Inquisition in church history, namely: 1) the Inquisition held in 1184 in southern France, to handle Catharists. 2) The Roman Inquisition that began in 1542 and 3) Spanish Inquisition that began in 1478, organized by the Spanish government to investigate the conversos ,Catholics who had been the  Jewish  and  Muslim,  or  those  who  pretend  to  be  Catholic.  There  are  seventeen  courts  of  the Inquisition  in  Spain  and  10  heretics  were  burned.  In  the  1479  because  of  pressure  from  the authorities of the Catholic Church in Spain, Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile, Pope Sixtus IV formed an independent Spanish Inquisition, led by the high council and implementing the Great Inquisition.

Abstract

Jesus was understood as an ordinary human being at his first appeareance, then he appeared as a rabbi, messiah and prophet, and performed his role not only as a charismatic rabbi or a prophet, but also a charismatic physician. Jesus implements loving others, by healing sick people in a different way from the practices that occur in their society. He is not a medical expert and not a professional doctor. Although in his day there were many doctors and physicians, but the amount was little and their knowledge about medicine was very limited. Moreover, poor people are rarely able to pay them. Besides that there are also professional exorcists who are able to expel evil spirits by using ancient ceremonial formulas in the form of incantations, symbolic actions, certain items and mention of someone's name. Sometimes saints also appear who are able to bring rain and heal with simple and spontaneous prayer to God. It seems that Jesus is using a different therapy from his day, which is holistic therapy. In the world of medicine, it is known as holistic medicine, which is synergizing the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional elements of a person in maintaining their health.

Death is something that is sure to happen to every creature. Everyone has a different reaction to facing death. Some may be afraid, others may become anxious, the rest accept it with a strong heart. In Buddhism, a person's attitude in the face of death is also taught, and also how to act against people who are facing death.
