Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the social and economic landscape around the world, increasing poverty levels and economic uncertainty. In this context, this study adopts a longitudinal approach and a digital economy perspective to analyze the post-pandemic poverty phenomenon. With a focus on Surabaya City, East Java, this study identifies poverty trends, patterns of access to and use of digital technology, and their impact on people's income and welfare. The results show significant fluctuations in poverty levels, with digital technology playing a role in increasing income and access to health and education services. Correlation analysis confirms a negative relationship between the use of digital technology and poverty rates. The findings highlight the importance of investment in technology infrastructure, digital literacy training, and digital inclusion policies to ensure the benefits of digital technology are equitably distributed across society. In conclusion, this study illustrates the important role of digital technology in addressing post-pandemic poverty, providing important insights for public policy and community development practice.

Abstract

The Covid pandemic had a negative impact on the MSME sector. Moreover, after COVID-19, MSMEs are facing the problem of rising prices, so they need additional capital to survive. The National Zakat Amil Agency (BAZNAS) of Makassar City, through its productive assistance program, is helping MSMEs to recover and improve their welfare as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic obtained from Zakat, Infaq, and Alms funds. This research aims to analyze the distribution of ZIS funds carried out by BAZNAS Makassar City and see the effectiveness of ZIS funds in restoring the mustahik economy after the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Determining the data source for respondents was carried out purposively. The results show that the distribution of ZIS funds after the pandemic is similar to during the pandemic. It's just that aid recipients have increased compared to after the pandemic. Distributing Zakat, Infaq, and Alms funds through productive assistance programs could be more effective in developing post-pandemic mustahik businesses.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of the Tangan Di Atas (TDA) Community in Makassar in developing a sharia-based creative economy. The findings reveal that TDA plays a strategic role in building an Islamic business ecosystem through education, mentorship, halal product innovation, and facilitation of sharia-compliant financing. The community helps young entrepreneurs understand sharia principles such as the prohibition of riba and fair contracts, while also fostering businesses aligned with Islamic values. However, major challenges include limited understanding of sharia principles among members, inadequate access to halal capital, and competition with conventional businesses. This study highlights the importance of collaboration between the community, government, and Islamic financial institutions to create an inclusive and sustainable ecosystem. The findings aim to serve as a reference for developing sharia-based creative economies in other regions.
