Abstract

This study aims to explain the implementation of multicultural education in history lessons focusing on Islamic material for students at SMA Negeri 11 Medan. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Information was collected through classroom observations, interviews with history teachers, and document analysis. The participants of the study were history teachers and eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 11 Medan. The results showed that the implementation of multicultural education in history lessons on Islamic material for students at SMA Negeri 11 Medan was carried out well. History teachers employed various approaches and strategies that consider the diversity of students. They explored diverse sources of Islamic history and used discussion methods, group assignments, and field activities to enhance students' understanding of Islamic history.

Abstract

The results of the research show that the implementation of Islamic values in history learning at MAN I Medan includes: (1) The process of planning history learning with Islamic values at MAN I Medan, to integrate Islamic values into the subject history at MAN I Medan Teachers must design lesson plans and choose the right materials and methods so that the learning process runs effectively and efficiently Understanding Islamic values in history learning at MAN I Medan, to increase the students' understanding of Islamic values that are integrated in history learning. These values must be linked to Islamic values related to the events that occur in everyday life, (2) Implementation of history learning with Islamic values at MAN 1 Medan, teachers must consider several things before implementing history learning with Islamic values at MAN 1 Medan And how teachers can take the advantage of question and answer discussions with the students about Islamic values which are explained in the material of the subject, (3) Understanding Islamic values in history learning at MAN I Medan, to increase the students' understanding of Islamic values that are integrated in history learning. These values must be linked to Islamic values related to the events that occur in everyday life, (4) Obstacles and efforts which are made to integrate history learning with Islamic values at MAN I Medan. Lack of the teachers' understanding of Islamic values which are relevant to the historical material, lack of the appropriate learning resources and teaching materials, and lack of encouragement and desire of the students to learn.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana nilai-nilai keislaman direncanakan dan diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran sejarah di MAN 1 Medan serta memahami pemahaman peserta didik terhadap nilai-nilai tersebut. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif melalui studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru sejarah secara sistematis menyusun perencanaan pembelajaran yang terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai Islam dalam RPP dan silabus. Implementasi nilai-nilai seperti kejujuran, disiplin, toleransi, dan keadilan dilakukan melalui metode ceramah interaktif, diskusi kelompok, studi kasus, dan proyek kreatif. Penggunaan media pembelajaran seperti video dokumenter dan kunjungan ke situs bersejarah Islam juga turut memperkaya proses belajar. Pemahaman peserta didik terhadap nilai-nilai keislaman berkembang secara positif, tercermin dari sikap dan respons selama pembelajaran. Kendala seperti keterbatasan sumber belajar, waktu yang sempit, dan kurangnya dukungan eksternal diatasi melalui kolaborasi antarguru dan strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran sejarah berbasis nilai-nilai Islam di MAN 1 Medan mampu membentuk karakter peserta didik yang religius, berakhlak mulia, dan memiliki semangat kebangsaan yang tinggi.
