Abstract

Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that attacks the cervix in women and can be treated with chemotherapy. One of the side effects of chemotherapy is nausea and vomiting. Nausea and vomiting can be treated by administering Acupressure Pericardium 6. This study aimed to determine the effect of administering Acupressure Pericardium 6 on nausea and vomiting in post-chemotherapy cervical cancer patients. This type of research is quantitative, using a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test one-group design. The study employed purposive sampling with 47 respondents, utilizing the INVR index measuring instrument. The results of the analysis showed that the majority were elderly, aged 46–65 years (70.2%), elementary school education level (42.6%), non-working employment status (61.7%), type of chemotherapy drug carboplatin (19.1%), and stage III cervical cancer (42.6%). Before receiving the acupressure pericardium intervention, post-chemotherapy patients experienced 6 frequencies of moderate nausea and vomiting (46.8%), and after the intervention, they experienced 6 frequencies of mild nausea and vomiting (44.7%). After that, a statistical test was carried out using the Wilcoxon test, obtaining a p-value of 0.000 or ≤ 0.05. In conclusion, pericardium 6 acupressure has an effect on nausea and vomiting in post-chemotherapy cervical cancer patients. Future researchers should develop variables and pay more attention to the timing of administering Pericardium 6 acupressure to ensure optimal results.

Abstract

Ca mammae refers to a breach in breast tissue, originating from both the epithelium of the ductus and the lobe, spreading through lymphatic vessels to other organs in the body and potentially resulting in metastases? Swelling of the breasts signals this process, causing pain that, if not addressed, could result in complications and discomfort. Deep breathing techniques and hand massage can alleviate the pain. The criteria of the patients with ca mammae are mild to moderate pain, and those with emergency conditions, shortness of breath, olive oil allergies, and injuries to hands and infusions. This quantitative quasi-experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design used purposive sampling techniques on a sample of 45 people. This study uses a numerical assessment scale (NRS). The researchers analyze the data using the Wilcoxson test. The results showed a p-value of 0.000 for the majority of adults aged 46–65 (48.9%), PS education (44.4%), unemployment (82.2%), stage (62.2%), and treatment (53.3%). This study finds the effect on the ca mammae patient. When using more pure oils, additional research recommendations should be considered.

Abstract

Childbirth, whether through vaginal delivery or Cesarean section (CS), is a significant event often accompanied by psychological challenges such as anxiety, particularly among women undergoing CS. This quantitative study aimed to explore the correlation between spousal support and anxiety levels in 40 first-time CS candidates. Using purposive sampling, this research employed the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) and the Spousal Support Questionnaire as measurement tools. The majority of respondents were aged 26-35 years (80%), in their third trimester of pregnancy (100%), primigravida (80%), and presented with indications for CS (65%). All respondents reported receiving supportive spousal support during their pregnancy. The study revealed that 70% of mothers experienced mild anxiety, with only 5% reporting moderate anxiety. Statistical analysis using the Spearman rank test demonstrated a significant relationship between spousal support and anxiety levels among first-time CS candidates (p = 0.034, p < 0.05). This suggests that higher levels of spousal support correlate with lower anxiety levels in expectant mothers undergoing CS. The findings underscore the importance of spousal support during pregnancy and childbirth, highlighting the need for partners to accompany and provide emotional support to mitigate anxiety. Future research should explore additional factors influencing anxiety and consider interventions to enhance support mechanisms for expectant mothers undergoing CS.

Introduction: Patients with cervical cancer have various physical complaints that can be felt directly, one of which is impaired sexual function, hormonal changes that occur due to the course of cervical cancer can cause decreased sexual desire, decreased lubrication and dyspareunia. Sexual function can result in decreased quality of life for women as an important role in sexuality. Many studies focus on the quality of life, but have not revealed sexual function. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between sexual function and quality of life for cervical cancer patients. Methods: Quantitative research design using cross-sectional method. Sample selection using quota sampling technique with 60 respondents. The instruments in this study were FSFI and WHOQoL. Data processing and analysis using the SPSS program with Spearman-rank test. Results: The majority of respondents were adults (81.7%) and underwent multitherapy (73.3%). A total of 53 respondents experienced sexual dysfunction and 55 respondents had a good quality of life. The results of the Spearman rank statistical test showed that the p-value was 0.030 (<0.05). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between sexual function and quality of life and has a weak relationship strength. Conclusions: Sexual function is a factor related to the quality of life of cervical cancer patients. Therefore, nurses must be able to reveal the sexual function experienced by patients in providing more comprehensive nursing care so that they can improve their quality of life.
