Abstract

Breast cancer is a cancer with a high mortality rate that primarily affects women. This disease can affect self-efficacy and quality of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and the quality of life of breast cancer patients at SMC Telogorejo Hospital. This is quantitative research with a correlational approach. The purposive sampling technique was used in this study to sample 42 respondents. The study's results showed that most of the people who responded were between the ages of 46 and 55 (50.0%), had at least a high school diploma (47.6%), worked as housekeepers (47.6%), were married (90.5%), and had been through chemotherapy at least six times. Of those people, 39 (92.9%) had high self-efficacy and 36 (85.7%) had good quality of life. The Spearman test rank showed that there is no relationship between self-efficacy and quality of life in breast cancer patients (p-value = 0.077). Future researchers should consider expanding the scope of their research to enhance its quality by developing, adding variables, and conducting thorough analyses.

Abstract

Digital health interventions hold promise for patient-centered care, as they enable remote monitoring of patients and can be used to easily remind patients to take their medications. This study used a literature review technique with research collecting 30 research publications related to the use, opportunities and challenges of digital health in the treatment of tuberculosis. The literature review technique aims to evaluate and analyze previous research to provide context, show gaps in research, and support arguments for the research to be conducted. Several conclusions from this literature review research include: (1) Digital health has a significant role as an intervention in the management of tuberculosis patients. (2) Digital health offers great opportunities to improve the management and treatment of tuberculosis patients. The opportunity for digital health as an intervention for tuberculosis patients is very promising and can have a significant impact on various aspects of managing this disease. (3) Although digital health offers many opportunities for managing tuberculosis, there are also various challenges that must be faced in its implementation, including: challenges of technology access, patient compliance and engagement, data security and privacy, integration with traditional health systems, costs and funding, quality content and information as well as cultural and language barriers.

Abstract

The third trimester of pregnancy is the final trimester of pregnancy, in this period the fetus grows within a period of 29-40 weeks, where this period is the time to prepare for childbirth. During the pregnancy process, physical and psychological changes will occur. Physical changes can cause discomfort such as pain in the symphysis pubis. Pubic symphysis pain occurs because during pregnancy there will be an increase in the height of the uterine fundus. Efforts to alleviate pubic symphysis pain include warm compresses and peppermint aromatherapy. This study aims to determine the effect of warm compresses and peppermint aromatherapy on pubic symphysis pain in third trimester pregnant women. This is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design using approach one group pretest-posttest design without control group. The total sample consisted of 66 third trimester pregnant women, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The Wilcoxon test results showed a significant effect of warm compresses and peppermint aromatherapy on reducing pubic symphysis pain, with a p-value of 0.000 (≤ 0.05). Warm compresses and peppermint aromatherapy can be used as nursing interventions to reduce pubic symphysis pain in third trimester pregnant women.

Abstract

Sectio caesarean is a surgical process involving an incision that is very risky and causes many complications for the human body. One of the complications caused by an intra-cesarean section is hypothermia. Hypothermia is a medical emergency that occurs when the body loses heat faster than it produces warmth. When the body temperature drops, the nervous system and other organs typically cannot function properly, which in turn affects the functioning of many other organs (Dafiani, 2021). This study aimed to determine the effect of a blanket warmer on the body temperature of intra-cesarean section patients to prevent hypothermia. This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental design (pre-test–post-test with a control group design). Data were collected on intra-section cesarean patients. As many as 35 respondents had been given non-pharmacotherapy therapy in the form of a blanket warmer. The results of the analysis showed that most pregnant women were aged 20–35 years in the no-risk group (91.4%), cesarean section with absolute indication (68.6%), and cesarean section duration < 60 minutes (57.1%). The minimum body temperature of 35.7°C before receiving a blanket warmer, and a maximum body temperature of 36.6°C after receiving one. After carrying out statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test, a P-value of 0.000, or ≤ 0.05, was obtained. In conclusion, blanket warmers influence the incidence of intra-cesarean hypothermia at SMC Telogorejo Hospital. Suggestions for further research include developing variables that can disrupt the thermoregulation system, as well as comparing the use of tools other than blanket warmers to prevent hypothermia before surgery.
