Abstract

Research has been done on rice husks. Rice husk is carried out in the carbonization process which is then carried out by the activation process. Furthermore, from the activation process, the impregnation process is carried out. Characterization using a thermo gravimetric analyzer (TGA) showed that the residue of impregnation of rice husk activated carbon was 61.83% and rice husk activated carbon was 89.72%.

Abstract

Pompa merupakan alat yang sering digunakan di kehidupan baik untuk keperluan rumah tangga maupun industri dimana fungsinya tidak hanya untuk memindahkan air namun untuk keperluan yang lebih kompleks. Pompa jenis sentrifugal banyak digunakan karena lebih mudah pengoperasiannya dan perawatannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendesain alat uji pompa sentrifugal dimana dikombinasikan dengan jenis seri dan paralel. Dari pengujian didapat hasil Pompa seri dan paralel dengan variasi bukaan katub yang dilakukan yaitu antara lain, bukaan katub 15%,30%,45%,60%, dan75% didapatkan hasil dari setiap bukaan katub untuk head (H) yaitu : 15% = 20,45 m, 30% = 25,02 m, 45% = 26,58 m, 60% = 28,12 m,75% = 29,2 m. dimana dari variasi bukaan katub untuk efisiensi headnya lebih baik pada bukaan katub 75%

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis pengaruh variasi putaran terhadap laju pengeboran pada mesin bor dengan kontrol elektropneumatik dan mengkaji pengaruh alir udara terhadap laju pengeboran pada sistem yang sama. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu eksperimental dan analisis pengaruh kecepatan mesin terhadap debit udara dan waktu rata-rata, dimana alat yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu mesin gergaji dan las listrik dengan bahan adalah plat besi galvanis dengan tebal 4 mm. Keterbaruan penelitian ini yaitu mencari pengaruh kecepatan, waktu dan debit udara dalam aplikasi mesin bor, hasil yang didapt dalam penelitian ini yaitu pada saat pengeboran pada variasi putaran (1 putaran, 2,5 putaran, 4 putaran, 5,5 putaran, 7 putaran, 8,5 putaran) diperoleh waktu masing-masing 4,27 dtk, 2,52 dtk, 1,64 dtk, 1,54 dtk, 0,82 dtk, 0,75 dtk dan semakin besar variasi putaran (8,5 putaran) yang dipakai maka semakin tinggi kecepatannya (0,0466 m/dtk) dan semakin besar debit udara (7,272 ltr/mnt) yang digunakan.

Abstract

Deli Serdang is a regency located in North Sumatra Province. One of the villages in Deli Serdang Regency is Tembung Village. Based on the available resources in Deli Serdang, especially in Tembung Village, there is great potential for business development. One of the businesses in Tembung Village is a laundry service business that was started in 2018 by Mr. Ahmad. Based on the results of a survey that has been conducted, the proponent has designated Mr. Ahmad's laundry business group as a partner. The proponent and the partner have agreed on several issues that have been faced by the partner, including the drying stage, which takes a long time due to limited equipment. Until now, the drying process has been inadequate, still relying on traditional drying methods, namely sunlight. Electric irons use heating elements on metal plates directly. This has many shortcomings, especially in terms of quality. It can damage certain clothes, such as burning or shining clothes. This is usually because the electric iron used is too hot. Thirdly, laundries still use manual record-keeping methods such as notebooks, so that data is not integrated in real time. In general, profit and loss calculations, financial reports, and clothing inventory records are still done on paper. The objectives of this PKM activity are to provide information, training, and assistance to partners on: 1) Making clothes dryers; 2) Making steam-based clothes ironing tools; 3) Creating a Laundry Management Web Application. The targeted outcomes of this Community-Based Empowerment Program are: 1) Increased production process efficiency with the use of drying machines and steam irons, as partners will have the knowledge to use these machines, thereby helping them speed up the drying process and eliminating the need for tedious sun drying. Clothes are ironed faster, neater, and free from the risk of damage; 2) With the laundry management software, partners have knowledge of how to use the application, namely profit and loss calculations, financial reports, and data collection on clothes coming in and out. Scientific articles will be published in the form of accredited journals and publications in online media and videos of Community-Based Empowerment Activities.
