Abstract

Indonesia's economic growth has entered a positive path as can be seen from the improvement on the demand side and growth from the supply side. Various improvements in leading indicators at the beginning of 2022 indicate a good economic outlook for Indonesia in the future. The continued increase in the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) also indicates an increasing recovery in public confidence in carrying out economic activities. Meanwhile, the global economy in 2022 is projected to continue the recovery trend and will rely on the transition of the pandemic to endemic. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects global economic growth of 4.4%. The Indonesian government itself targets Indonesia's economic growth in 2022 at 5.2% (yoy)).      The development of product processing technology today makes it difficult for us to distinguish which ones are halal and haram, so it is necessary to ensure that the materials used are clearly traceability and guarantee halalness. Halal Product Process (HPP) is a series of activities to ensure the halalness of products which include the provision of materials, processing, storage, packaging, distribution, sale, and presentation of products. HPP companion in this case are in charge of assisting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) actors in fulfilling product halal requirements, in order to carry out halal certification obligations. The position of a halal product process (HPP) companion who is also an extension officer is very important in assisting the halal certification process for MSMEs. Their knowledge, example and experience must be integrated with the needs of MSMEs who will manage halal certification in their products. A companion or extension worker is a person who works as an adviser, idea giver, lightener, guide and director. HPP companion are required to build public confidence about the importance of halal and good food and the dangers of non-halal food for health in order to encourage the development of MSMEs to become one of the sources of regional and national economic growth.

Abstract

Lembaga Amil Zakat (LAZ) is an institution established by the government and the private sector to manage zakat, starting from collecting zakat to distributing it to people who are entitled to receive zakat or mustahiq. The existence of this institution in fact provides convenience for muzakki in distributing their zakat worship. In the economic and social context, the activities carried out by LAZ are considered capable of assisting the government in overcoming the problem of poverty that occurs. This research was conducted at one of the zakat institutions in Surakarta, namely LAZ Griya Yatim and Dhuafa (GYD) which is active in helping the collection and distribution of zakat in the city. LAZ GYD also has various ways to collect zakat which makes it easier for muzakki to pay zakat. Not only that, LAZ GYD also has various programs for zakat distribution so that it is targeted and effective with priorities on education, economy and social. It is interesting to study the efforts made by LAZ GYD in more depth to see the institution's efforts to increase the number of muzakki, especially in Jebres District, Surakarta. The results show that LAZ GYD conducts outreach activities in collecting zakat personally or using communication media. In addition to providing information, outreach also plays a role in raising awareness and providing education to the wider community. In addition, socialization plays an important role in inviting and raising the awareness of prospective muzakki to tithe through the LAZ GYD programs. Then to increase muzakki's trust, LAZ GYD implements accountable and transparent management. This is also used as an effort to attract prospective muzakki to tithe through the Griya Yatim and Dhuafa Amil Zakat Institution (LAZ GYD).

Abstract

The growing global demand for halal products presents promising opportunities for economic development. However, there are still significant gaps in the standardization of the halal certification process, especially in terms of aligning with the provisions of Islamic law for international export purposes. The role of the Halal Product Process Assistants (HPPA) in establishing credible and Shariah-compliant export standards remains unexplored, posing challenges in integrating halal certification into the global supply chain. This research examines how HPPA can strategically contribute to developing a globally recognized halal certification system that is in line with Islamic law. It also aims to assess the role of Islamic law advocacy and technology in strengthening international halal standards. Using qualitative methods inspired by Spradley's ethnographic approach, this study engaged key informants- recognized experts and stakeholders- through focused, open-ended interviews. The study revealed that Islamic law-based halal certification significantly improves the marketability of halal products globally by fostering consumer confidence and regulatory alignment. HPPA's strategic engagement, legal advocacy, and technological innovation can drive creative economic growth and facilitate the integration of halal products into international markets.

Abstract

IntroductionThe concept of the halal value chain has been widely applied in the food, logistics, and pharmaceutical sectors to ensure the halalness of products from upstream to downstream. However, the fisheries sector, particularly in the northern coastal region of Java, lacks an integrated halal value chain model that incorporates sustainability principles.ObjectivesThis research aims to design a contextual halal value chain model that combines halal and sustainability aspects at each stage of the fisheries value chain.MethodA case study-based qualitative approach is used with secondary data analysis from various official and academic sources. The analysis is conducted through content analysis, thematic synthesis, and mapping of halal critical points across five main stages: production, collection, processing, distribution, and consumption.ResultsThe findings indicate that business actors do not fully comprehend halal standards, lack effective halal logistics, and have a weak certification and supervision system. ImplicationsThe proposed model emphasizes the importance of halal control, the integration of economic, social, environmental, and health sustainability, and the active participation of local communities. This model is expected to increase the added value of fishery products, expand access to the global halal market, and strengthen the sustainability of the coastal fisheries sector.Originality/NoveltyThis research contributes to the development of the halal value chain theory in the context of the fisheries industry, providing applicable policy implications for strengthening the national halal economy.
