Abstract

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is common in COVID-19 survivors and can be caused by a variety of stressors, including the duration of infection, severity, and location of isolation when infected with COVID-19. Furthermore, public anxiety caused by the rapid increase in the number of cases and deaths caused by COVID-19 plays a role in the occurrence of PTSD. To reduce the risk of mental disorders, psychosocial support is required. The purpose of this study was to describe the incidence of PTSD in COVID-19 survivors, to describe aspects of psychosocial support for COVID-19 survivors, and to assess the relationship between stressor factors and psychosocial support and the occurrence of PTSD in COVID-19 survivors. This research used an analytical observational research design with a cross sectional approach, involving 149 respondents aged 17-65 years, 52 men and 97 women from the COVID-19 survivor community known as COVID Survivor Indonesia (CSI) in DKI Jakarta. The Medical Outcomes Study–Social Support Survey (MOS-SSS) and The Impact Of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R) questionnaires were distributed via Google Form to collect data. Data was processed and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows version 26.0, and results were analyzed using descriptive univariate and bivariate using Chi Square. There is a significant relationship between stressor factors and the occurrence of PTSD, specifically the duration of infection with COVID-19 (P = 0,026), severity when infected with COVID-19 (P = 0,027), and place of isolation when infected with COVID-19 (P = 0,023). Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between psychosocial support and the occurrence of PTSD (p = 0,001). Management of COVID-19 patients is required to detect stressor factors and provide psychosocial support so that COVID-19 survivors can return physical and psychological health.

Abstract

Fractures are discontinuities in bone, joint cartilage, and epiphyseal cartilage that result from direct or indirect trauma. Fractures occur frequently around the globe and in Indonesia, and their incidence is growing annually. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 13 million people will suffer fractures in 2020. This study aims to determine the demographics of fracture patients and the causes of fractures at Dr. Mintohardjo Navy Hospital in 2022. We conducted a retrospective study of medical records of fracture patients in the Dr. Mintohardjo Navy Hospital, Jakarta, Indonesia in 2022 and this study included 279 participants. According to demographic information, the majority of fracture patients in this study were male, between the ages of 26 and 35, had a bachelor's degree, and were employed as military. In addition, traffic accidents are the leading cause of fractures in patients, with the majority occurring in the clavicle region. In 2022, the majority of fracture patients at Dr. Mintohardjo Navy Hospital were of productive age and male, with the most common cause of fracture being traffic accidents and occurring in the clavicle region.

Abstract

Background : Uterine leiomyosarcoma (ULMS) is a rare, aggressive malignancy with high recurrence and poor survival, necessitating prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), implicated in tumorigenesis and angiogenesis, remains understudied in ULMS. This systematic review and meta-analysis assessed COX-2’s prognostic role in ULMS. Methods : Following PRISMA guidelines, six studies (n=185) were retrieved from PubMed, EMBASE, and Scopus (2001–2024). Inclusion criteria required ULMS cohorts with COX-2 expression data and survival outcomes. Risk of bias was assessed using QUADAS-2, and evidence certainty via GRADE. A random-effects meta-analysis calculated pooled effect estimates with 95% confidence intervals (CIs), while heterogeneity was evaluated using I² statistics. Result : COX-2 expression correlated moderately with epithelial components (pooled effect: 0.51, 95% CI: 0.26–0.77) and weakly with mesenchymal components (0.26, 95% CI: 0.06–0.45). High heterogeneity (I² = 89.5% and 82.2%) reflected differences in study design, tumor subtypes, and COX-2 measurement thresholds. QUADAS-2 indicated a low risk of bias, and GRADE confirmed high evidence certainty. Stronger epithelial correlations were observed in Asian cohorts, highlighting geographic variability. Conclusions: COX-2 plays a more significant role in epithelial-driven ULMS carcinogenesis. Despite heterogeneity, robust methodologies support these findings. Future studies should standardize COX-2 assessment, expand cohort sizes, and integrate multi-omics approaches to refine prognostic and therapeutic applications.

Abstract

Background: Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological disorder characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. It commonly affects women of reproductive age and is associated with chronic pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, and infertility. The disease significantly impacts productivity, social functioning, and sexual health, making it one of the leading causes of disability and reduced quality of life among women. Methods: This review was conducted through a literature search using databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate. Articles published between 2016 and 2025 were selected using the keywords endometriosis, hormonal therapy, and non-hormonal therapy. Relevant studies were analyzed, cross-referenced, and evaluated to identify current therapeutic strategies for endometriosis management. Result: The management of endometriosis currently includes both hormonal and non-hormonal therapies. Hormonal treatments involve the use of aromatase inhibitors, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogues, selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs), selective progesterone receptor modulators (SPRMs), and dienogest, all aimed at suppressing estrogen production and endometrial growth. Non-hormonal therapies, on the other hand, utilize anti-inflammatory, anti-angiogenic, and pro-apoptotic mechanisms to target the inflammatory cascade that contributes to the pathogenesis of endometriosis. These therapies aim to reduce chronic inflammation, cell proliferation, and pain without interfering with ovulation or fertility. Conclusions: Both hormonal and non-hormonal therapies play a crucial role in managing endometriosis. While hormonal therapy remains the mainstay of treatment, non-hormonal approaches show promising results with fewer side effects and greater patient tolerability. However, further clinical studies are required to evaluate their long-term efficacy and safety before they can be widely implemented in clinical settings.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative innovation in radiology, offering faster and more accurate diagnostic capabilities. However, patient acceptance and trust remain critical challenges that influence its successful implementation. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing patients’ perceptions and trust in the use of AI in radiology services at Indriati Hospital Solo Baru. This study uses a quantitative survey design with a cross-sectional approach and involves 153 respondents who underwent AI-based MRI examinations. Data was collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire with purposive sampling and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) method. The analysis results show that trust, efficiency, and being informed have a positive influence on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Additionally, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use increase the intention to use AI in radiology. The variables of transparency, data security, and privacy were also proven to strengthen the influence of trust on the intention to use AI in radiology. This finding confirms that benefits, convenience, trust, and assurances of transparency and data security significantly influence patient acceptance of AI.
