Abstract

This research aims to find out how Islamic culture is integrated with local culture in wedding ceremonies in Ummareng Village, Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency. This research is cultural research with qualitative data, descriptive analysis. Data was obtained through field research (field data) as a primary source and library research (library data) as a secondary source. The research approaches used are historical, sociological, anthropological and religious approaches. The application of local culture in wedding ceremonies in Tanete Rilau sub-district, Barru Regency is related to this existence, namely the beginning of the Bugis Barru wedding in Tanete Rilau sub-district, Barru Regency which is divided into two stages, namely preparation for the procession before the wedding, the marriage contract procession. Integration of the Bugis Traditional Wedding Procession with the Islamic Wedding Procession, in several stages of implementation, such as the Al-Quran mappatemme procession, barazanji, and the marriage contract. Values of Islamic Cultural Integration, mammanu-manu, ma'duta, mappetu'ada, mappasikarawa, barazanji. And the values of Islamic Cultural Integration, tolerance, justice, interconnection. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang bagaimana integrasi budaya Islam dengan budaya lokal dalam upacara pernikahan di Desa Ummareng Kecamatan Tanete Rilau Kabupaten Barru. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian budaya dengan data kualitatif analisi deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui field research (data lapangan) sebagai sumber primer dan library research (data pustaka) sebagai sumber sekunder. Pendekatan penelitian digunakan adalah pendekatan sejarah, sosiologi, antropologi, agama. Pelaksanan Budaya lokal dalam Upacara pernikahan di kecamatan Tanete Rilau Kabupaten Barru terkait keberadaan tersebut, yang mana awal dilakukannya pernikahan Bugis Barru kepada Kacamatan tanete rilau Kabupaten barru yang terbagi menjadi dua tahapan yaitu, persiapan prosesi sebelum pelaksanaan pernikahan, prosesi akad nikah. Intergrasi dalam Prosesi Pernikahan Adat Bugis dengan Prosesi Pernikahan islam, dalam beberapa tahap-tahap pelaksanaannya seperti pada prosesi mappatemme Alquran, barazanji, dan akad nikah. Nilai-nilai Intergrasi Budaya islam, mammanu-manu, ma’duta, mappetu’ada, mappasikarawa, barazanji. Dan nilai-nilai Intergrasi Budaya Islam, toleransi, keadilan, Interkoneksi.

Abstract

This research discusses the function of Fort Rotterdam which has changed several times, starting from Fort Rotterdam as a defense base which is the main function of the establishment of a fort especially during the kingdoms, to the fort which has changed and added functions tailored to the needs and interests of certain control. The results of this study indicate that the function of Fort Rotterdam experienced a transition and addition of functions in each period of control starting from the control of the Kingdom of Gowa, after the Bongaya agreement the fort was under the control of the Dutch, Japanese to the time after independence.

Abstract

Sultan Alauddin (1593-1639) adalah anak dari raja Gowa ke-12 yang bernama Karaeng Bontolangkasa atau Tunijallo, dan ibunya adalah raja Tallo yang ke-4. Ketika ia dinobatkan sebagai raja Gowa ke-14, umurnya masih sangat muda sehingga yang menjalankan roda pemerintahan diwakilkan kepada raja Tallo ke-6 atau Mangkubumi Kerajaan Gowa-Tallo yang bernama Karaeng Matoaya. Raja Tallo yang merangkap Mangkubimi Kerajaan Gowa bernama I Malingkaang Daeng Manyonri adalah yang pertama kali menerima agama Islam dan mengucapkan dua kalimat Syahadat. Setelah pengucapan dua kalimat syahadat, beliau lalu diberi gelar Islam Sultan Abdullah Awwalul Islam, yang artinya orang yang pertama menerima agama Islam sebagai agamanya. Setelah itu menyusul raja Gowa yang bernama I Mangarangi Daeng Manra’bia raja Gowa ke-14, lalu kemudian diberi gelar Islam Sultan Alauddin. Pada 9 November 1607, dinyatakan sebagai penerimaan Islam oleh rakyat Gowa dan Tallo sebagai agamanya, dan Kerajaan Gowa menjadikan agama Islam sebagai agama resmi kerajaan. ketika pemerintahan Sultan Alauddin di Kerajaan Gowa, beliau sangat menekankan perlunya ada persamaan di antara sesama manusia, apakah itu adalah penduduk asli kerajaan ataukah mereka berasal dari luar, bahkan juga berlaku bagi bangsa asing. Hal ini tercermin dalam bidang perdagangan, dimana Pelabuhan Somba Opu dibuka selebar-lebarnya kepada siapa saja dengan tidak membedakan warna kulit. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan sehingga Kerajaan Gowa terkenal hingga ke luar negeri dan bangsa-bangsa asing berdatangan untuk melakukan perdagangan antar wilayah. Ia juga sangat menentang monopoli perdagangan di daerahnya.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of Fort Rotterdam as a cultural heritage development in people's lives. This research is qualitative research using library research and field research. The steps in historical research are heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The establishment of Fort Rotterdam was initiated by King Gowa IX Tumaparisi Kallonna as a royal defense base and continued by his son Karaeng Tunipalangga. The results of this research show that Fort Rotterdam continues to experience changes in function in each period. The role of Fort Rotterdam as a post-independence cultural heritage development in people's lives can be seen in several aspects of society's social, economic and political life. The role of Fort Rotterdam as a source of increasing understanding regarding history and culture, a means of building social relations, a means of maintaining the local identity of the Makassar community, and improving the community's economy.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the elements of Islamic culture in the pinisi maritime tradition of the Bonto Bahari Bulukumba community. Pinisi boat, which originated from the Sawerigading story, is a traditional boat from South Sulawesi, precisely Bulukumba, known as Butta Panrita Lopi. Pinisi in its manufacture is still thick with the culture of the local community. In its development, the pinisi boat has been recognized as a humanitarian heritage for intangible culture authorized by UNESCO. This research is a cultural research using qualitative data obtained from field study data and literature data. The data collection methods used are interviews, observations, and through written documents. The results of this study show that in the tradition of pinisi maritime there are several rituals performed, namely, annakbang kalabiseang (keel cutting), annattara (keel connection), appasili (rejecting bad luck), ammossi (cutting the navel), and annyorong lopi (boat launching). The elements of Islamic culture contained in these rituals are religious system and religious ceremonies, community organization system, and livelihood system.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reconstruct Somba Opu as a model of the Muslim maritime city of the archipelago in medieval times. The results of this study will be useful for the government of South Sulawesi Province, especially in determining policies related to urban planning and urban governance (good urban governance). The types of research used are library research and field research. Library research focuses on reviewing, studying, and discussing literature or library sources and other sources. Filed research captures actual data and information at the research location. The research steps are Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study show that Somba Opu grew to become one of the maritime Muslim Cities in the archipelago in the 17th century. The characteristics include; Somba Opu is the center of the Makassar Kingdom government as well as an international commercial city visited by foreign traders from Asia (China, Malay, India, and Arabia) and from Europe such as Portugal, so the population grew significantly and pluralist, coastal markets grew into economic centers and private and foreign companies providing employment, the existence of the Mosque as a symbol of Islamic government with a majority Muslim population. The king with the title of Sultan was Sultan Alauddin and the kings after him. This Islamic government respects the plurality of society which is marked by the existence of non-Muslim houses of worship such as churches that are permitted by the ruler. The results of this study will complement and enrich previous studies as well as become a reference for urban managers and urban planning experts.

Abstract

This is a writing of the contributions of KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin in the development of the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School, Bantaeng Regency, from 1986 to 2004. The main objectives of this research are to detail the biography of KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin, trace the history of the founding of the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School, and analyze the contributions of KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin to the school's development. This research employs a qualitative descriptive analysis method, utilizing both library and field data. The primary field data source was obtained through interviews, while the library data were collected from various relevant sources. The research approach encompasses historical, educational, religious, and anthropological perspectives. The research steps include heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this research are as follows: First, KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin was born in the village of Ereng-Ereng, Bantaeng, on June 6, 1940. His notable works include the book "Al-Tashrif," the book "Mahu Al-Ibadah," and guidelines for Zakat and Fasting. Second, the history of the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School began with the return of KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin to his hometown to promote Islamic education. In 1986, he founded the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School. Third, KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin's focus on deepening religious knowledge had a positive impact on the students, leading to the development of a cadre of preachers to continue his missionary efforts. Implications: The author hopes that this thesis will be useful for readers to learn about KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin, a scholar who significantly influenced the development of Islamic education, particularly at the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School in Bantaeng Regency. Future researchers are recommended to discuss in more detail the development of Islamic boarding schools influenced by KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin's thinking.
