Abstract

This research uses structural equation models (SEM) as a theoretical basis for assessing Kaskus.us members' perceptions of ease of use and perceived benefits, which are strengthened by external factors, namely trust. The research population is all Kaskus.us members who have posted any information on the Kaskus.us Buying and Selling Forum. The researchers used purposive sampling and convenience sampling methods in this study. We also utilized structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The research found that as many as 200 people surveyed stated that trust had a significant influence on their intention to buy goods online on the Kaskus.us Buying and Selling Forum. In addition, research findings show that ease of use and benefits also have a significant influence on the intention to purchase goods online. The main objective of this research is to analyse the influence of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and trust of Kaskus.us members on their intention to make online purchases. This research involved 200 respondents who were active members of the Kaskus.us Buying and Selling Forum and used structural equation modelling (SEM) nalysis. The results show that platform trust, ease of use, and perceived usefulness significantly influence respondents' desire to make online purchases through the platform.

Abstract

Carbofuran is one of the active compound elements as the primary ingredient for making the world's most toxic broad-spectrum and systemic carbamate pesticides, commonly used as insecticides, nematicides, and acaricides for agricultural, household, and industrial purposes. Based on the report of the eighth meeting of the Rotterdam Conference in 2017, it was agreed that the active compound carbofuran is prohibited because of its hazardous impact on human health and the environment. Apart from being harmful to human health and the environment, it is also very deadly to mammals, birds, fish, and wildlife due to its anticholinesterase activity, which inhibits acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase activity. Carbofuran is associated with endocrine, reproductive, cytotoxic, and genotoxic disorders in humans. Therefore, the environment contaminated with carbofuran is a significant concern and requires severe treatment that is adequate, sophisticated, and effective to be able to mitigate the degradation that occurs. This paper briefly discusses the toxicity of carbofuran and its toxicological impact on the environment esp, especially the role of the government in regulating the distribution of pesticides and mitigating the threat of impacts from pesticide use. This writing method uses a literature review technique, which the author describes to conclude. Activities to control pesticide pollution and its adverse effects on the environment and non-target organisms are carried out by (1) Issuing standardized legal regulations to prohibit the use and distribution of high-risk pesticides. So, with regulations, the adverse effects of pesticides can be reduced. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the social impacts that might occur if the government imposes a ban on the use of chemical pesticides due to the high dependence of Indonesian farmers on the use of chemical pesticides derived from carbamates, such as carbofuran. (2) Implement stricter regulations regarding the use of dangerous chemical pesticides. (3) Encourage industry to develop and produce environmentally friendly pesticides to realize sustainable agriculture. One environmentally friendly pesticide is the Biopesticide method. (4) Applying new scientific methodologies, technologies, and valid measures, such as integrated pest management (IPM). Furthermore, further research is needed focusing on environmental exposure and assessment of health risks related to carbofuran pesticides to better understand the use and management of pesticides in the future and also research related to innovations in integrated pest management (IPM).

Abstract

Abstract

Illegal Artisanal Small-Scale Gold Mining (PETI) in Poboya, Palu City, exemplifies Indonesia’s nexus of socio-environmental vulnerability and institutional marginalization. Although environmental degradation, health impacts, and regulatory challenges associated with PETI have been extensively documented, limited research has systematically examined how the interplay of capital assets and internal motivation drives livelihood transformation pathways within PETI communities. To address this gap, this study uniquely integrates the Sustainable Livelihood Framework with spatial analysis to assess the combined influence of environmental, social, and economic capitals on PETI livelihood transitions. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through quantitative survey and qualitative in-depth interviews with 119 PETI workers selected through purposive and convenience sampling analyzed using Atlas.ti and spatial data analyzed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Quantitative analysis using multiple linear regression revealed that environmental capital (β=0.288), social capital (β=0.400), economic capital (β=0.304), and motivation to change (β=0.340) had significant positive effects (p<0.001) on livelihood transformation. Qualitative narrative analysis revealed that persistent informal institutional networks, constrained access to formal financing, and perceptions of repressive policy frameworks continue to sustain PETI activities despite environmental and legal risks. Spatial analysis demonstrated that PETI activities are concentrated in high mineral potential zones with informal accessibility, underlining the combined role of ecological opportunity and socio-economic necessity. This study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence on how capital assets and motivation interact spatially and socially to influence livelihood transformation, offering a more integrated perspective beyond prior research that predominantly focused on environmental impacts and regulatory issues. The findings underscore the need for policy interventions that combine capital strengthening, motivational mobilization, and inclusive institutional reforms to facilitate fair, legal, and sustainable livelihood transitions for PETI communities.
