Abstract

This study examines how the residents of Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency perceives motorcycle racing events at the Zabak National Circuit in Jambi Province, Indonesia. Applying the Social Exchange Theory framework, the research used quantitative data from a survey questionnaire. This method approach explores public opinions on motorsport events, identifying factors that shape these perceptions. The study anticipates a mixed public response, acknowledging both the perceived economic and social benefits alongside concerns about noise, safety, and environmental consequences. Factors such as economic opportunities, community pride, noise pollution, traffic congestion, and environmental degradation are expected to significantly influence public perception. Positive perceptions are likely linked to higher event participation, while negative perceptions may lead to reduced involvement and community resistance. By analyzing the complex interplay of perceived benefits and costs associated with motorcycle racing events, this study provides valuable recommendations for event organizers and local authorities. These recommendations emphasize maximizing economic and social benefits while minimizing negative impacts through effective noise control, traffic management, safety protocols, and enhanced environmental sustainability

Abstract

Athletes with a good level of self-confidence tend to be able to control anxiety, cope with competitive pressure, and maintain consistent performance during training and matches. However, based on field observations, there are still athletes who show doubts about their abilities, especially when facing opponents with higher achievements. This study aims to determine and analyze the level of self-confidence of PABSI Jambi weightlifters. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study were 15 PABSI Jambi weightlifters who actively participate in the training program. The instrument used was a self-confidence questionnaire with a Likert Scale that has been tested for validity and reliability, with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.861 indicating a high level of reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics by calculating the minimum, maximum, mean, standard deviation, and category distribution values with the help of SPSS version 27. The results showed that the level of self-confidence of PABSI Jambi weightlifters was in the high category with an average value of 66.60. The data distribution shows that 2 respondents (13.3%) were in the very low category, 2 respondents (13.3%), 3 respondents (20.0%) were in the moderate category, 5 respondents (33.3%) were in the high category, and 3 respondents (20.0%) were in the very high category. These findings indicate that most athletes have a good level of self-confidence to support their athletic performance. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the general level of self-confidence of PABSI Jambi weightlifters is in the high category. However, some athletes still have low levels of self-confidence who require attention in mental development to improve psychological readiness and optimal competitive performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of online gaming intensity on students' social behavior in Physical Education (PJOK) within a blended learning context. Quantitative correlational and regression design was employed, involving 74 tenth-grade students selected via simple random sampling. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using normality tests, Pearson correlation, and simple regression. The results indicate a very strong and significant relationship between online gaming intensity and social behavior (r = 0.848, p < 0.05), accounting for 71.9% of the variance. However, this study is limited to a single school context and does not account for other influencing factors such as family background and psychological conditions. The findings suggest that digital engagement is closely linked to students’ interaction patterns, particularly in blended learning contexts. educators must manage technology strategically to balance virtual and direct social interaction in blended learning environments.

Abstract

One platform that stands out in this phenomenon is Instagram. This research aims to provide an empirical description of the effectiveness of Instagram as a branding tool for non-formal educational institutions and to serve as a basis for developing a more focused and data-driven digital branding strategy. This study employed a quantitative approach using an explanatory survey method. The sampling technique applied was purposive sampling, and the research instrument used was a questionnaire distributed to Instagram followers of Razaka Academy. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of Razaka Academy's Instagram social media is categorized as high, with an average score of 87.74 out of 100. Furthermore, branding perception based on followers’ responses is also in the high category, with an average score of 70.44 out of 80. The results of the simple linear regression analysis reveal that Instagram effectiveness has a positive and significant effect on Razaka Academy's branding. The correlation coefficient (R) of 0.928 indicates a very strong relationship. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.861 shows that 86.1% of branding variation is explained by Instagram effectiveness, while 13.9% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Indonesian language teachers at junior high schools in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency face challenges in teaching explanatory text writing due to limited use of interactive digital learning media and inadequate integration of technology into pedagogy. This community engagement program aimed to enhance teachers’ competence through training based on the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, with a focus on the Canva platform. The program involved 30 Indonesian language teachers from several junior high schools and was implemented through structured activities, including needs assessment, material delivery, collaborative discussions, hands-on media development, and evaluation using pretest and posttest instruments. The results showed a significant improvement in teacher competence, indicated by a mean score difference of −15.433, a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), and a very large effect size (Cohen’s d = 2.648). These findings confirm that the training effectively improved teachers’ ability to design creative, interactive, and curriculum-aligned digital learning media for teaching explanatory texts. The novelty of this program lies in the contextual integration of the TPACK framework with digital media training oriented toward explanatory writing and local content, supporting the technology-enhanced implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and providing a replicable model for similar teacher training initiatives.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen the technopedagogical competence of junior high school English teachers in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into classroom practice. The program adopted a participatory, needs-based approach involving 30 teachers from 12 schools and was implemented over seven weeks through workshops, mentoring, and classroom application. The training introduced AI concepts, ethical considerations, and hands-on use of selected applications, followed by guided implementation supported by reflective practice and continuous feedback. The results indicate notable improvements in teachers’ confidence and ability to design AI-integrated lessons, accompanied by increased student engagement and more interactive classroom dynamics. The program also contributed to a shift in teachers’ perceptions of AI from a perceived challenge to a supportive instructional partner and fostered the development of a professional learning community within the MGMP network. The novelty of this initiative lies in its mentoring-driven and practice-oriented approach tailored to rural educational contexts. The findings suggest that sustainable AI integration requires not only technical training but also ongoing professional support, collaborative structures, and alignment with local conditions.
