Abstract

This research aims to describe written Indonesian language errors in aspects of spelling and sentences in the thesis of students at the Widya Mandira Catholic University, Accounting Study Program. This research uses qualitative research by analyzing 25 samples of theses. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the forms of language errors found in the theses of students of the Widya Mandira Catholic University, Accounting Study Program were in the form of spelling errors including capital letters, italics, writing and punctuation, totaling 311 errors or 58.9%; and sentence errors include errors in sentence structure alignment, parallelism, coherence, and sentence accuracy as much as 217 or 41.1%.

Abstract

The principle of cooperation (maxim) is one of the discourses in pragmatic studies that explores the concept of communication between speakers and speech partners. A cooperative process in understanding meaning is needed to achieve communication goals. This research uses Grice's thinking in examining speech act violations, namely violations of the maxim of cooperation on the Viktor Lerik Bebas Berbicara facebook group page. The aim is to describe forms of violation of the maxim of cooperation in conversations contained in the Viktor Lerik Bebas Berbicara facebook group. The theoretical studies used in this research are speech acts, written language on social media, Grice's maxim of cooperation. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The results of the research found violations of the maxim of cooperation, namely violations of the maxim of quantity, violations of the maxim of quality, violations of the maxim of relevance, and violations of the maxim of implementation/manner. The dominant violation that appears is the violation of the maxim of relevance.

Abstract

Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur merupakan salah satu daerah yang mengalami stunting tertinggi secara nasional yakni di angka prevalensi 37,8% pada tahun 2021. Sementara, prevalensi stunting terbesar di NTT pada 2021 terjadi di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan sebesar 48,3%. Salah satu desa yang memiliki jumlah stunting tertinggi di Timor Tengah Selatan yakni Desa Pollo. Jumlah stunting di desa Pollo pada tahun 2023 sebanyak 103 orang. Upaya penurunan stunting pun telah ditempuh dengan berbagai cara yang berimbas pada anggaran yang dikucurkan oleh pemerintah termasuk dana desa. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang dialami oleh mitra di atas maka pengabdian ini akan dilakukan dengan memberikan pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan dana desa untuk mengatasi persoalan penurunan stunting. Kegiatan ini melibatkan Kepala desa Pollo dan Kepala desa Linamnutu serta para perangkat desa, tokoh adat dan masyarakat desa Pollo. Jumlah peserta 70 orang yang berada di kantor desa Pollo. Kegiatan dilakukan menggunakan metode ceramah dan dokumentasi. Dalam menyusun Rencana Kerja Pemerintah (RKP), Pemerintah Desa menyusun dengan informasi dari pemerintah daerah kabupaten/kota berkaitan dengan pagu indikatif Desa dan rencana kegiatan Pemerintah, pemerintah daerah provinsi, dan pemerintah daerah kabupaten/kota. RKP Desa mulai disusun oleh pemerintah Desa. Kepala Desa menyusun RKP Desa dengan mengikutsertakan masyarakat Desa dengan beberapa langkah kegiatan. Terdapat kendala dalam mengalakasikan dana desa untuk penurunan stunting karena kurangnya dana desa akibat alokasi Bantuan Langsung Tunai (BLT) yang dialokasi ke masyarakat.

Abstract

Poverty in the agricultural sector remains an unresolved issue. Despite various efforts to address it, no effective solution has been found. This research aims to examine the impact of technological developments on the poverty levels of farmers in the NTT province. A qualitative research method was employed, utilizing interviews to gather accurate data from farmer groups in NTT. The findings indicate that agricultural technology plays a significant role in increasing farmers' income and reducing poverty in the region. However, to achieve optimal results, it is essential to focus on costs, improve access to information, and enhance infrastructure that supports technology, ensuring that more farmers in NTT can benefit from it

Abstract

Family gathering activities in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) are a social tradition involving the collection of funds, goods, or animals during significant events such as marriages or funerals. This practice serves as a form of solidarity and mutual assistance within the community. Although these gatherings can incur substantial costs, the financial implications differ from ordinary accounting concepts. This research aims to explore the concept of "matching" within the family gathering tradition practiced by the people of East Nusa Tenggara. The methodology used for this research is qualitative, specifically library research. Data was collected by reviewing relevant literature related to the issue at hand. The researcher will analyze this data and present findings concerning the concept of matching in the family gathering tradition. The results demonstrate that the concept of matching in the business world differs from its application in indigenous communities. While businesses are obligated to recognize costs incurred over a specific period in relation to their income, the social accounting practices within these communities do not require a comparable income. Instead, the emphasis is placed on kinship relationships and the value of mutual cooperation, adhering to the norms that exist within the society.

Abstract

In the era of rapid globalization, information and communication technology has significantly transformed how consumers interact with products and brands. E-commerce has emerged as a highly popular shopping method, offering consumers easy and unlimited access to a wide range of products from around the world, all from the comfort of their homes. This shift presents great opportunities for businesses to expand their market reach, while also intensifying competition. One strategic approach increasingly adopted in the e-commerce sector is content marketing. Shopee, one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Indonesia, has successfully implemented this strategy. By leveraging video-based content and innovative promotions, Shopee has effectively captured consumers' attention. This research aims to explore how these two elements influence consumer buying interest on the Shopee platform. Using a qualitative approach, the study reveals that content marketing plays a crucial role in driving consumer interest in products. Additionally, the free shipping policy has been shown to significantly impact consumer purchasing decisions. This offering not only enhances the attractiveness of promotions but also contributes to increased sales, providing substantial value for both consumers and businesses. Abstract

This research discusses the "belis" tradition in the Manggarai community of East Nusa Tenggara, which is a vital component of the traditional wedding process. "Belis" refers to the dowry given by the groom to the bride as a symbol of respect, family unification, and social responsibility. The aim of this research is to analyze the belis phenomenon from an accounting perspective, specifically focusing on the identification, measurement, and reporting of economic transactions related to this tradition.Using a qualitative approach, data was obtained through document studies from relevant journals. The findings reveal that the belis process involves several stages, including negotiations, the collection of funds, and the presentation of the dowry, which can take the form of money, livestock, and certain goods. During the transaction identification stage, donations and expenses are recorded, while the measurement of the purchase value is determined based on market prices, utilizing the concepts of historical cost and fair value in accounting.Financial reporting is conducted through manual recording, which serves to document transparency and accountability in the financial management of the belis tradition. This research illustrates that the belis tradition not only embodies cultural values but also possesses significant economic and social relevance, rendering it a pertinent subject for analysis from an accounting standpoint.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The lifestyle phenomenon of out-of-town students in Kupang City shows a significant shift in behavior, where they tend to adopt an elite lifestyle despite economic limitations. This study aims to identify factors that influence students’ consumptive lifestyles, as well as their impact on their mental well-being. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, this study revealed that social pressure, the influence of social media, and the desire to be accepted in the social environment play a major role in shaping consumptive behavior. Out-of-town students often feel alienated and try hard to adjust to social norms that prioritize appearance. The results of the study indicate the need for stronger social support for out-of-town students to help them balance social aspirations with the economic realities they face, as well as the importance of education about financial management to prevent excessive consumptive behavior.

Abstract

Several Neighborhood Associations in Fafinesu B Village have formed savings and loan business groups with the aim of providing loans to members or other residents who need urgent funds. All financial management processes are carried out simply which makes the results obtained relatively minimal. This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the application of accounting principles in the management of savings and loan funds. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach and data collection is carried out using interview, observation and questionnaire techniques. The results indicate that all RT savings and loan business groups have not applied general accounting principles. Financial records are limited to transactional records of loans per person and their installments and are not accompanied by profit and loss reports, balance sheets, financial statements. At the end of the period when the management is accountable, the final balance along with the final profit obtained verbally and the focus of the group members is the final results obtained without going through the process of supervision and control so that problems are often found, including some groups getting less profits, some borrowers are unable to repay the loan. Some members do not get loans and even some groups cannot continue the business in the next period. Simple accounting recording training needs to be carried out for savings and loan fund managers and members so that in their operations this business can implement a systematic and effective accounting system in order to reduce problems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi strategi yang digunakan oleh pedagang kaki lima (PKL) di Kota Kupang dalam meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan mereka. PKL memiliki peran penting dalam ekonomi lokal, menyediakan barang dan jasa dengan harga terjangkau bagi masyarakat berpenghasilan rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara terstruktur terhadap 50 PKL di beberapa lokasi strategis. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa PKL menerapkan berbagai strategi, seperti menjaga kualitas produk, menawarkan harga yang bersaing, menambah variasi produk, dan memanfaatkan media sosial untuk promosi. Namun, mereka juga dihadapkan pada tantangan seperti berkurangnya pembeli, naiknya harga bahan baku, serta persaingan yang ketat. Studi ini merekomendasikan agar PKL mengembangkan strategi adaptif dan berinovasi untuk meningkatkan daya saing serta keberlanjutan usaha mereka.
