Abstract

Our goal was to find morphological features that can help us identify or describe the stomata ontogeny and epidermal structures. Our team got seeds of two types of leguminous plants—Arachis hypogaea L. groundnuts and Vigna subterranean L. bambaranuts—from the Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority and the Yankaba market in Nassarawa, which is in Kano State. The study specifically evaluated the leaf epidermal studies, stomata development (ontogeny), types of stomata, stomata size, pore length, pore width, and stomata index in both the surfaces of the leaves. We conducted ontogenetic studies using safety razor blades on the epidermal layers. We determined the stomata index by studying the type of stomata, the number of stomata, and the number of epidermal cells. We subjected the obtained data to a one-way analysis of variance. All the studied varieties/species exhibited amphistomatic stomata on both surfaces, with a higher density on the lower surface. In SAMNUT 23, we found the paracytic type of stomata, which is perigynous and has an irregular anticlinal cell wall. In Dandakar, we found the tetracyclic type, which is mesogynous and has a pentagonal epidermal cell shape and a slightly straight anticlinal cell wall. Finally, in Bambara nuts, we found the endocytic type, which is polygonal with a curved anticlinal wall and a mesoperigynous ontogeny.

Abstract

Kabupaten Lombok Utara merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat dengan jumlah stunting yang cukup tinggi. Stunting merupakan kegagalan pertumbuhan disebabkan oleh kurangnya nutrisi yang dapat diserap tubuh saat masih dalam kandungan dan setelah lahir, dan pada gilirannya dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan belajar anak. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pencegahan stunting melalui makanan bergizi Desa Tegal Maja Kecamatan Tanjung Kabupaten Lombok Utara. . Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode partisipatif yang seluruh kegiatannya melibatkan masyarakat sasaran. Hasil kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan program pengabdian ini dapat terlaksana dengan yang baik. Keberhasilannya terlihat dari peserta penyuluhan yang merespon positif dan berpartisipasi aktif dalam seluruh kegiatan yang terprogram, mulai dari sosialisasi hingga pelaksanaan program. Transfer pengetahuan terkait pencegahan stunting yang mealalui makanana bergizi sehat dapat dipahami sangat baik oleh masyarakat. Kegiatan pelatihan peningkatan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pembuatan tepung dan produk olahannya telah berhasil dilaksanakan dengan baik. Peserta menunjukkan respon yang cukup baik dan berpartisipasi secara aktif dalam mengikuti seluruh rangkaian kegiatan pengabdian, serta terjadi peningkatan tidak saja pada aspek kognitif dan afektif namun juga pada. aspek psikomotorik. Para peserta sudah berani untuk melakukan kegiatan pembuatan tepung dan produk olahan pisang secara mandiri, dan memahami bahwa jika pisang dan produk olahan dikonsumsi secara rutin dapat menekan angka stunting.

Abstract

The limitation of laboratory facilities in conducting practical chemistry learning activities has become one of the triggers for less optimal learning processes. Implementation of virtual laboratory simulation becomes a solution to overcome the limited equipment of practicum activities. It is possible to overcome some of the challenges that are currently being experienced in chemistry education by making effective use of virtual laboratories. The primary aim of this research is to investigate the impact of virtual laboratories and self-efficacy on the improvement of problem-solving skills among engineering students in the context of applied chemistry education. The research employs a quasi-experimental design to examine the impact of independent variables on dependent variables. Participants in this study are students enrolled in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering and Utility Engineering Technology programs within the Mechanical Engineering Department of Bali State Polytechnic. The study utilized data collection instruments consisting of tests assessing problem-solving skills and questionnaires measuring self-efficacy. The current study employs analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) as a statistical method to examine the hypothesis.The hypothesis testing results show that using virtual laboratories has a better effect than problem-solving skill demonstrations when it comes to electroplating learning activities. The observed correlation between self-efficacy and improved problem-solving skills does not seem to result in a significant impact.

Abstract

Student shuttle services play a crucial role in supporting effective and efficient learning processes. This article examines the benefits, challenges, and innovations in student shuttle services and their impact on modern education. By integrating advanced technologies such as tracking applications and online reservation systems, these services provide safety, time efficiency, and convenience for students and parents. Additionally, the use of eco-friendly vehicles and learning programs during transit demonstrates the potential of these services in supporting sustainable education. Other innovations include carpooling and the use of electric buses to reduce carbon footprints. However, logistical and cost challenges remain significant obstacles in their implementation. This article offers innovative solutions to address these challenges and provides recommendations for the future development of better student shuttle services. The findings indicate that well-organized shuttle services can enhance students' concentration and academic performance, reduce stress, and positively impact their psychological well-being. Support from the government and community is essential to ensure these services operate optimally and sustainably
