Abstract

Introduction: Hemodialysis is a kidney replacement therapy for patients with stage V chronic kidney disease. During hemodialysis, patients often complain of muscle cramps. More than ¾ of hemodialysis patients have experienced muscle cramps. This condition causes discomfort and anxiety, which can reduce their quality of life. If the patient shortens the duration of hemodialysis, the process of removing toxins and excess fluid will not be optimal. This study aimed to investigate the effect of Buerger Allen exercises on muscle cramps in intradialysis patients. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest control group structure. The sample consisted of 64 hemodialysis patients at Klinik Ginjal dan Hipertensi Lestari, selected using a consecutive sampling technique. The sample was divided into two groups: 32 in the treatment group and 32 in the control group. The inclusion criteria were ages 25 to 70, compos mentis, able to read and write, willing to participate, and undergoing routine hemodialysis twice a week for at least 4 hours. Statistical analysis was performed using the Mann-Whitney test. Results: The results showed that the mean rank in the treatment group was higher than in the control group (44.97 vs. 20.03). Statistical analysis showed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Conclusion: Buerger Allen exercises have a significant effect on reducing muscle cramps in intradialysis patients.

Abstract

Background: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a collection of symptoms due to compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel at the wrist, precisely under the flexor retinaculum. Symptoms that arise in CTS include numbness, tingling, pain, and weakness in the hands and wrists. In this CTS condition, physiotherapy can play a role in reducing pain in the wrist. Therefore, from several studies that we got, giving exercise therapy combined with electrophysical modalities is effective for reducing the symptoms that arise in the condition of carpal tunnel syndrome. Research purposes: To determine the effect of a combination of exercise therapy and electrophysical modalities to reduce pain in carpal tunnel syndrome. Methodology: A systematic review of an article relating to the provision of exercise therapy and electrophysical modalities to reduce pain in carpal tunnel syndrome. Results: With exercise therapy and electrophysical modalities can provide a significant effect to reduce pain in carpal tunnel syndrome. Conclusion: Provision of exercise therapy and electrophysical modalities can reduce pain and increase daily physical activity in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. Abstract

Osteoarthritis cases are one of the degenerative diseases caused by the reduction of joint synovial fluid and the progressive loss of articular cartilage. Currently available therapies focus on symptomatic treatment and prevention of the disease from worsening. In this day became necessitates surgical washout arthroscopy, which is used to clear infection in the original joint or after arthroplasty. After surgery, rehabilitation from physiotherapy is needed to reduce pain, increase joint range of motion, increase muscle strength and restore functional ability. Method:The patient is a 53-year-old woman complaining of pain, weakness muscles and limitation joint range of motion in the left knee after arthroscopic washout surgery 1 month ago. Physiotherapy management 4 weeks of intervention in 2 sessions with ice compress, electrotheraphy with TENS and US and exercise. Result: TENS and Ultrasound currents showed a decrease in sensation felt, increased muscle strength and joint of range motion. The provision of electrical stimulation interventions using tens and ultrasound currents for 4 weeks with 2 meetings in postoperative washout arthroscopy can be concluded to reduce pain sensation, increase the scope of joint motion and increase muscle strength in the hip.

Abstract

Post-stroke hemorrhage refers to bleeding that occurs in or around the brain following a stroke, particularly after a hemorrhagic stroke. This condition can lead to further brain damage and complications, necessitating immediate medical attention and intervention. Treatment of post-stroke hemmorrage can be given the intervention of the neuroplasticity and motor learning, and Bobath concept. Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections, which is crucial for recovery after a stroke. The Bobath concept, or neurodevelopmental treatment, focuses on facilitating motor learning and functional movement in stroke patients, promoting recovery through tailored rehabilitation strategies. Purpose: The objectives of implementing interventions focused on neuroplasticity, motor learning, and the Bobath concept for patients post-stroke hemorrhage include enhancing neural recovery, improving motor function, promoting functional independence, and optimizing motor learning. Methods: a study using the case report method in a 50-year-old male patient diagnosed with left BPPV 6 months ago. The patient complains of a headache accompanied by a feeling of spinning and lightheadedness as well as muscle stiffness in the neck. Examination of the dix Hallpike maneuver in the patient was positive. Patients were given physiotherapy interventions in the form of Epley maneuvers and stretching exercises. Results: decreased dizziness and spinning sensation at the fifth meeting and stiffness of the neck muscles which were evaluated using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and a 50% reduction at the third meeting which was evaluated using the Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI). Conclusion: there is effectiveness in reducing the sensation of spinning, neck muscle stiffness, and increasing functional ability in BPPV.
