Abstract

Abstract

WHO and UNICEF estimate that the world's stunting rate is 22.3% of children under five years old globally in 2022, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 2023 is 21.5% and 27.2% in Central Sulawesi. Sigi Regency has a stunting prevalence of 26.4%, Kamaipura Health Center ranks the first highest stunting in October 2023, namely 66% experiencing stunting. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between nutrition-aware family behavior, complementary feeding and food security and analyze the influence of independent variables on the incidence of stunting. This study used a case control design. The population in this study were toddlers aged 24-59 months, the number of samples was 38 case groups and 38 control groups. Based on the results of bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, namely nutrition-aware family behavior, complementary feeding, and food security <0.05, which shows there is a relationship with the incidence of stunting. The results of multivariate analysis using the logistic regression test are that there are no variables that contribute most to the incidence of stunting. However, based on the results of the OR calculation <1, which means that the three variables are protective factors for the incidence of stunting. There is a significant relationship between nutrition-conscious family behavior, complementary feeding and food security with the incidence of stunting, there is no variable that contributes most to the incidence of stunting because all variables are protective factors. For health workers at Kamipura Health Center to be more active in providing education related to nutrition-conscious family behavior, complementary feeding and food security to mothers of toddlers and further researchers to further examine these three variables and other variables.

Abstract

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF estimate the prevalence of stunting in the world at 23.3%, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia at 21.5% and 26.4% in Central Sulawesi. Sigi Regency has the highest prevalence of stunting in 2022 at 27.2%. Kamaipura Community Health Center ranks highest at 43.6% in 2023 in Sigi Regency. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between parenting patterns of feeding, picky eaters and food diversity on the incidence of stunting in the Kamaipura Health Center working area, Sigi Regency. Method: This type of research is quantitative with an observational analytical approach using a cross sectional design . The population in this study were all toddlers aged 24-59 months totaling 219 toddlers with a sample of 58 stunted toddlers and The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Research result: Based on the results of bivariate analysis using the Spearman test, all variables were related to the incidence of stunting with a value of (p<0.05) and based on multivariate analysis it was found that the food diversity variable contributed most to the incidence of stunting with the highest regression coefficient value (B=0.215). Conclusion: Most of the respondents had poor parenting patterns, were picky eaters and lacked food diversity. There is a relationship between parenting patterns, picky eaters and food diversity on the incidence of stunting and the variable that contributes most to the incidence of stunting is food diversity. Suggestion: For health workers at the Kamaipura Community Health Center, they will be more active in providing education, for the community they will pay more attention to children's nutritional intake and take part in education about nutrition, for future researchers they will add the characteristics of respondents and other variables to better support the research and prepare themselves better before going to the research site.

Abstract

The amount of leftover food obtained by inpatients at the Kabelota Regional Hospital on the breakfast schedule is > 20%. The impact of patient food waste causes losses both in terms of nutritional adequacy per person and costs in terms of purchasing food ingredients. The aim of this study was to analyze external factors related to morning schedule food waste in inpatients at the Kabelota Regional Hospital. This research method uses cross-sectional analytical observation , with a sample size of 50 patients. With primary and secondary data collection techniques. The results of the chi square test analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between the acceptability of food menus and food waste (p>0.05). There is no relationship between portion standards for each type of food and food waste (p>0.05). There is no significant relationship between the timeliness of eating staple food menus, animal side dishes, vegetable side dishes, vegetables and food waste (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between the attitude of the food waiter and the remaining food on the breakfast menu (p>0.05). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between external factors and the occurrence of food waste in inpatients at the Kabelota Donggala Regional Hospital during the breakfast schedule. Suggestion: For further research, it would be better to analyze the internal factors that cause food waste.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition experienced by the body when red blood cells have hemoglobin levels less than the normal limit (<12 gr/dl). Adolescent groups, especially young women, are susceptible to anemia because they menstruate every month. One of the factors causing anemia in adolescent girls is poor nutritional status. Wrong eating habits, such as being lazy about eating and liking to eat fast food instead of home-cooked food, cause insufficient nutrition, thus affecting the nutritional status of young women. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls.  This type of quantitative research uses a cross sectional method. The population is 406 young women from the Mamboro Community Health Center Area High School. The sample was 89 female students with a sampling technique, namely cluster random sampling. Data analysis uses the Chi Square test. The results of the study showed that the majority of young women with BMI were thin at 56.2% and there was a relationship between BMI and hemoglobin levels of young women with a P-Value of 0.000 <0.1. The conclusion of the study is that there is a relationship between BMI and hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls.
