Abstract

Islam views the holy book as not only regulating matters of worship which are vertical between servants and God. The holy book is also seen as a guide for humans in managing all world affairs, including the world of education. The development of Islamic education today, directly or indirectly, often links its vision to the formation of the ûlul albâb generation (QS. Ali Imran; 190-194). Even though the vision is the same, the implementation of Islamic education often appears to vary. Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia exist in the form of pesantren, boarding schools, madrasah, and also schools. So what is meant by the ûlul albâb generation and how is Islamic education implemented in producing the ûlul albâb generation? This research is intended to find out the views of commentators regarding the meaning of ûlul albâb and at the same time to describe the models of Islamic education that have developed to date in Indonesia. This research is library research and the methods used are the maudlu'i (thematic) interpretation method and the qualitative descriptive method. Based on this research, it can be concluded that ûlul albâb is a self-image that combines academic qualities, spirituality, and charity. In this perspective, Islamic education is a process of improving the quality of humanity in its various dimensions, namely making scholars who believe and do good deeds. To achieve this goal, Islamic education in Indonesia is developing an integrative education model, namely institutional integration and curriculum integration.

Abstract

Developing learning models that are in line with technological advances can build student values and character through the integration of Al-Quran values. One of the surahs in the Al-Quran is surah Al Ma'un, which is strong in instilling social attitudes or concern for the social environment and is the main basis for the Muhammadiyah movement. This research aims to produce a science learning model using a STEM approach containing Al Ma'un and determine the effectiveness of the STEM approach with Al Ma'un as a learning model in improving students' scientific attitudes and social awareness in Muhammadiyah schools. This research is a development research using the Plomp model. The research is conducted at 3 Muhammadiyah Middle Schools in Purworejo Regency. The feasibility of the learning model is carried out by expert validation in terms of syntax, social system, reaction principle, support system, and instructional impact. To test the effectiveness, it uses data on the percentage of pre- and post-observation results. The research results show that the learning model using the STEM approach containing Al Ma'un is valid and suitable for use. The effectiveness of the learning model is also high, based on the percentage increase in students' social awareness and scientific attitudes. This learning model can become an excellent learning model for Muhammadiyah schools. Apart from that, it can also be applied to Islamic schools in general for character development in aspects of social attitudes and social environment.

Abstract

Background. This study focuses on critically analyzing the method and influence of the dictionary "al-Jamharah," composed by the prolific scholar Ibn Duraid. The development of Arabic vocabularies is essential for understanding the language, and dictionaries play a crucial role as the primary reference for word meanings. Purpose. The main aim of this research is to explore and critically analyze the methods employed by Ibn Duraid in compiling the "al-Jamharah" dictionary. The study seeks to understand how this dictionary contributed to the development of Arabic lexicography and the influence it had on subsequent linguistic studies. Method. The research employs a literature review method, which includes collecting bibliographic data, reading, taking notes, and analyzing various sources related to the "al-Jamharah" dictionary. This method allows for a comprehensive examination of the historical context, methodologies, and impact of Ibn Duraid’s work on Arabic lexicography. Results. The study finds that the "al-Jamharah" dictionary by Ibn Duraid is notable for being the first to use an alphabetical order system, specifically the "aba-jad-un" order. This system was developed to address the difficulties faced by Arabs in understanding the phonetic ordering formed by al-Khalil. The alphabetical method significantly simplified the process of searching for word meanings compared to the traditional phonetic system. Conclusion. The research concludes that the alphabetical system introduced in "al-Jamharah" provided significant advancements in the field of lexicology, distinguishing it from other linguistic sciences such as qira’at, tajwid, and tafsir.

Abstract

Corruption among public officials continues to pose a serious threat to the integrity and sustainability of democratic governance in Indonesia. This study examines the restriction of public officials’ authority, particularly through political term limits and the revocation of political rights for convicted officials, as a preventive strategy against corruption. Employing a normative legal research method and document analysis, the study analyzes Indonesian laws, policies, and case data from regional heads between 2004 and 2019. The findings reveal recurring patterns of power abuse and highlight the social and institutional consequences of corruption. The study also identifies challenges in implementing anti-corruption policies, emphasizing the need for systemic reforms to enhance transparency and accountability. The results suggest that political term limits can reduce opportunities for previously corrupt individuals to regain office and help restore public confidence in governmental institutions. The study concludes that effectively combating corruption requires coordinated efforts among government bodies, civil society, and law enforcement agencies to implement policies that reinforce integrity and institutional accountability.
