Abstract

This study aims to: (1) to find out the relationship between overthinking and career interest in choosing a follow-up school for students in Bentara Wacana Muntilan Junior High School, (2) to find out the level of overhingking in choosing a follow-up school for students in Bentara Wacana Muntilan Junior High School, (3) to find out career interest in choosing a follow-up school for students in Bentara Wacana Muntilan Junior High School. This research method uses a quantitative descriptive correlation approach. The results showed that: (1) there is a negative relationship between overthinking and career interest with the acquisition of a correlation value (R) of -.389, (2) the level of overthinking in the low category with the acquisition of 87% and 78 students, (3) the level of career interest in the medium category with the acquisition of 40% and 36 students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a dating violence prevention module (KDP) as a medium for guidance and counseling services for junior high school students. The research objectives are: (1) to design and develop a dating violence prevention module tailored to students’ needs; (2) to assess the feasibility of the module based on evaluations by media and material expert validators; (3) to evaluate the module’s feasibility based on user assessments from guidance and counseling teachers; and (4) to determine the module’s effectiveness in enhancing students’ understanding of dating violence prevention. This research adopts a research and development approach using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). Participants include two expert validators, three guidance and counseling teachers, and 71 junior high school students for the limited field trials. Data collection utilized validation questionnaires, teacher assessment scales, and student pretest and posttest instruments. Data were analyzed descriptively to evaluate the module’s feasibility and inferentially, using normality tests and paired sample t-tests, to determine effectiveness. The results indicate that the dating violence prevention module was rated “very feasible” by both media and material experts and received the same rating from guidance and counseling teachers. The effectiveness test revealed normally distributed data and a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). This finding confirms that the module is effective in improving students’ understanding of dating violence and can be utilized as a preventive tool in classical guidance services at schools.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan fondasi penting dalam pembentukan kepribadian peserta didik, terutama dalam aspek komunikasi yang santun dan beretika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan karakter komunikasi peserta didik di SD Pingit Yogyakarta melalui pengembangan Paradigma Pedagogi Iganasian (PPI) menggunakan wayang sampah daur ulang. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengukur efektivitas penggunaan media wayang yang dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan karakter komunikasi peserta didik SD Pingit. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development dengan model Borg & Gall yang melalui 10 tahap penelitian. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah para peserta didik SD Pingit dari kelas SD besar yang berjumlah 12 orang. Data penelitian dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif melalui data yang terkumpul menggunakan instrumen kuisoner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pengembangan PPI menggunakan media wayang dari hasil daur ulang sampah dapat meningkatkan karakter komunikasi peserta didik sekolah Pingit. Hal ini terlihat melalui hasil pre tes dan post tes yang menunjukkan angka perubahan yang signifikan dengan nilai p= 0,001 yang ≤0,05 sebagai standar angka signifikan. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan berupa wayang, modul dan workbook efektif untuk membantu peserta didik SD Pingit belajar meningkatkan karakter komunikasi mereka.

Abstract

One of the crisis behaviors experienced by middle school students is low self-confidence. Low self-confidence will cause students to have difficulty finding success in life because self-confidence is one part of self-esteem. Therefore, strategic steps are needed to help resolve these problems, one of which is providing outbound technical group guidance interventions. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the outbound technique group guidance module as an effort to increase student self-confidence. The research uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design type of experiment. The subjects of this research were 96 students of MAN 1 Kulonprogo who were selected based on a simple random sampling technique. The research will measure students' level of self-confidence using a self-confidence scale instrument, which will then be tested statistically using the T test. The results of the research show positive changes in self-confidence scores in the pretest (M = 118.4) and posttest (M = 137.80). The difference in scores shows a significant increase in scores, as evidenced by the results of the T test, namely a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that the intervention carried out was proven to be effective in increasing students' self-confidence. The use of outbound technical group guidance has been empirically proven to increase students' self-confidence. Through outbound activities, students experience cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning processes so that they can more easily develop aspects of self-confidence such as personal abilities, social interactions, and self-concept.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the short film "Gerak Bersama" in preventing sexual harassment in high school students. This research is a type of research and development focused on a certain stage, namely focusing on the seventh to the last stage which refers to the Borg & Gall procedure. The subjects in this study were 122 high school students in Sleman Regency. This research produced three short films entitled "Speak Up!", "Enabler?", and "Relasi (Kuasa)" as well as a media guidebook which was examined for the effectiveness of its use in students in cultivating an anti-sexual harassment attitude. The data collection method uses an attitude scale toward sexual harassment. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistics and an experimental design with T-test and N-Gain analysis. The effectiveness test using the T-test resulted in an average pretest value of 121.72 and a posttest average value of 152.96 and sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 <0.05 which indicates if there is an average difference between the pretest and posttest. The N-Gain test result is 0.653 which is included in the medium category and the N-Gain value in percentage is 65% which is included in the quite effective category. The short film "Gerak Bersama" was deemed appropriate and effective in preventing sexual harassment of high school students.

Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying behavior is behavior that is very close to students. Prevention of bullying is one of the tasks of guidance and counseling teachers through classical guidance services. One of the media that can be used by guidance and counseling teachers is a short movie. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of short movie to reduce bullying behavior. This research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The research design uses a one-group design with a random sampling subjects. There are 36 subjects for class VIII junior high school students in Sleman. Researchers distributed anti-bullying questionnaires for the pre-test and post-test and analyzed them using the T test. The result is an increased understanding of bullying behavior in students after watching a short movie, so the use of a short movie is considered effective to reduce bullying behavior because of the influence of vicarious learning theory. Based on the results of the T-test, there is a 30.200 difference in the pretest and posttest scores, which indicates effectiveness. The N-Gain test results also yielded a score of 63%, which is in the quite effective category.

Abstract

Learning management system is one of the learning spaces that can be used flexibly and independently in inclusive classes. This study described the steps in developing Semester Learning Plan (SLP) and LMS through 5 stages of design thinking: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. This study involved 3 deaf students, 1 autistic student, and 29 non-disabled students as respondents and experts to assess and provide input on the development of SLP and LMS. The results of the LMS development showed an increase in students' assessment of LMS accessibility with a moderate positive effect. The LMS was categorized as good in terms of its fulfilment of UDL principles, accessibility of learning tools, pedagogical feasibility, and ease of use. Further improvements are needed to advance the accessibility of the LMS.

Abstract

Purpose: Cases of violence against women continue to require serious attention from multiple stakeholders, particularly in relation to limited understanding of gender equality within families and intimate relationships. Unequal power relations between men and women often position women in subordinate roles within households, increasing vulnerability to gender-based violence. This community service activity aims to strengthen understanding of gender equality as a foundation for fostering healthy, equitable, and harmonious relationships. Design/Methodology/Approach: The activity was implemented using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which emphasizes active community involvement throughout the intervention process. The program was structured into four main stages: exploration, planning, implementation, and reflection and evaluation. This approach enabled participants to engage critically with gender-related issues while actively contributing to problem identification and solution development. Findings: A total of 28 participants, consisting of mothers and adolescents, were involved in the activity. Participants were divided into three groups and received differentiated interventions tailored to their characteristics and needs. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding of gender equality following the intervention, as reflected through group discussions, reflective activities, and evaluation outcomes. Practical Implications: The intervention applied a group guidance model that emphasizes group dynamics, shared reflection, and collective learning. This model proved effective in enhancing participants’ awareness of gender-equitable relationships and promoting attitudes that support mutual respect and non-violent interactions within families and communities. Originality/Value: This community service program offers a participatory and context-sensitive model for gender equality education that integrates group guidance with PAR principles. The intervention contributes to promoting gender-just behavior at the community level and supports broader efforts to prevent and reduce cases of violence against women.
