Abstract

Children are the next generation of the nation, so the quality of the next generation depends on the quality of child development, especially in infants aged three years (toddlers), because the first three years of life. Monitoring the growth and development of toddlers is very important to determine the presence of growth disorders (growth faltering) early. To achieve effective interactions between mothers and children, mothers must pay attention to their attitudes because attitudes arise from interactions in understanding, feeling and behaving on an object that is valued positively and negatively. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and attitudes about child growth and development with maternal behavior of conducting SDIDTK in the Working Area of the Tanjung Sakti Health Center, Lahat Regency in 2023.This type of research is analytical observational with a cross sectional design. The number of samples of this study was 81 respondents selected by purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that most respondents (63.4%) had good knowledge, supportive attitudes (70.4%) and good behavior (58%) towards the implementation of SDIDTK. There is a relationship between maternal knowledge and attitudes with maternal behavior to implement SDIDTK in children with a p value of 0.000. The results of this study should be used by the community as information material, and can provide knowledge about early detection of child growth and developmen

Abstract

Background: Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) maternal mortality is still quite high, every day around the world about 808 women die from complications in pregnancy or childbirth. The prevalence of SEA among pregnant women in the world reaches 41%. Data in Asia the proportion of pregnant women with SEZ is around 15.3%, Thanzania shows as many as 19% of pregnant women experience SEZ (WHO, Maternal mortality, 2019). Research Objective: This is to determine the relationship between the level of nutritional knowledge in pregnant women with the incidence of SEZ in the Muara Kati Health Centre working area in 2024. Research Methods: The method used is descriptive research design. Descriptive method is a research method carried out with the main purpose of making a description or descriptive of a situation objectively. (Hidayat, 2022). Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 44 respondents who were pregnant at Muara Kati Health Centre. Research Results: Research results A total of 15.9% of pregnant women who experience the incidence of SEZ. The results of bivariate test analysis there is a relationship between knowledge and the incidence of SEZ in pregnant women where the results of the chi-square test with interpretation obtained p-value = .000> 0.05. Suggestion: Researchers suggest that the muara kati health centre is expected to provide information on the relationship between knowledge of pregnant women about nutrition with the incidence of pregnancy SEZ and can be used as a supporting material for program planning and prevention of SEZ in pregnant women and evaluating existing programs.

Abstract

Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021, the incidence of caesarean section worldwide increased to 21%. In Indonesia, vaginal delivery reached 81.5% and caesarean section 17.6%. In Bengkulu Province in 2023, 64% of deliveries were carried out by CS, 36% were normal deliveries. The most common CS action in Bengkulu City is 45%, and at Ummi Bengkulu Hospital, the incidence of caesarean sections has increased in the last 3 years. This type of research is quantitative with a longitudinal study method (Nursalam, 2016). The population of this study was all mothers giving birth at Ummi Bengkulu Hospital from January-December 2023 and January-June 2024, totaling 4586 people. The case sample was mothers giving birth with caesarean section due to indications of complications. Calculation of secondary data samples, calculation of total samples using the g-power calculation concept of 1293 respondents. From the caesarean section prevalence test, it is known that the number of caesarean section prevalence is 23.59% with a 95% CI range of 21.35-25.98. These results indicate that the number of caesarean sections at RSU Ummi Bengkulu from 2023-26 July 2024 was 305. This shows that the prevalence of caesarean sections is relatively high. There is a significant conclusive relationship between caesarean sections at RSU Ummi Bengkulu: preeclampsia (OR 6.55, 95%: 1.19-35.9, p-value: 0.025), premature rupture of membranes (OR: 9.81, 95%CI: 1.02-94.60, p-value: 0.0297) and fetal distress (OR: 1516.63, 95%CI: 588.5-3908.5, p-value: 0.0001). The researcher suggests that RSU Ummi Bengkulu collaborate with various parties to reduce indicators related to the occurrence of caesarean section, which is known to cause maternal and infant death, in order to reduce the incidence of AKI. This study is also a reference material that can be used as information media to conduct research development that has the same research outcomes. Expansion of the use of covariate variables to see the causal relationship of independent variables that are connected to dependent variables so that the dominant factor of caesarean section is known.

Abstract

Diarrhoea is usually caused by a virus or, sometimes, food contaminated by bacteria. It is rarely a sign of other disorders, such as inflammatory bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome (Febriyanti and Triredjeki, 2021). According to WHO and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), there are approximately two billion cases of diarrhoeal disease worldwide each year, and 1.9 million children under the age of 5 die from diarrhoea. Of all child deaths from diarrhoea, 78% occur in Southeast Africa and the Asian region (World gastroentorology Organisation, 2020). January the number of patients suffering from diarrhoea was 70 patients, rising to 84 patients in February, an increase of 14%. (WHO, 2020). Based on the PISP Report Data Recap UPTD Puskesmas Penarik in 2024, there were 6 cases of diarrhoea from RT 04 Suka Maju Village out of a total of 32 cases of diarrhoea in the UPTD Puskesmas Penarik Working Area. This should certainly be a concern because according to WHO diarrhoea is the third cause of death in children aged 1-59 months. This disease can be prevented and treated, one of which is by washing hands effectively after every activity. This Community Service through KKN-T is a form of community service that aims to improve the knowledge, awareness and behaviour of the community of RT 04 Suka Maju Village about the prevention and treatment of diarrhoea. The program was carried out through educational methods, hand washing campaign practices and Gotong Royong implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behaviour (PHBS) which was carried out at Integrated Paud Desa Suka Maju Kec. Penarik Kab. Mukomuko Bengkulu with the target of Paud children, teachers, and mothers of toddlers totalling 44 people. The community has received information about the causes, signs and symptoms, prevention and treatment of diarrhoea and how to wash hands effectively and the community together participated in gotong royong cleaning the school environment for the implementation of PHBS. The results of this activity showed an increase in community knowledge and awareness about diarrhoea, prevention and application of effective hand washing and PHBS for diarrhoea prevention efforts in Suka Maju village. It is hoped that the community can implement clean and healthy living behaviour.
