Abstract

Overweight and central obese in Indonesia are increasing. The 2018 basic health research showed the prevalence of central obese at the age of 15 years was 31.0%. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is 34.1%. The purpose of this study was to describe the body mass index according to age (BMI/A) and the ratio of waist-hip circumference (WHR) to blood pressure in class XI MAN 4 Jakarta. The study used a descriptive approach with a cross sectional design. The sampling method used a proportional systematic random sampling formula and the number of samples representing each department was determined by the stratified random sampling formula. The research was conducted on at MAN 4 Jakarta on 52 students of class XI for the academic year 2021/2022 aged 16-17 years. While the primary data collected were sample characteristics used interview , body mass index by age used microtoise tools and weight scale, waist- hip ratio, and blood pressure. Results: BMI/A most of the subjects had good nutritional status 63.5%, WHR most of the subjects were in the no-risk category 61.5%, most of the subjects had normal blood pressure 76.9%. There was no significant relationship between age, gender, family history of hypertension and waist-to-hip-ratio circumference (WHR) to blood pressure (p>0,05) and to a significant relationship between body mass index by age (BMI/A) to blood pressure (p<0,05). Conclusion: There is a normal blood pressure tendencies are common those who had a body mass index by age (BMI/A) are overweight or obese and waist-to-hip-ratio circumference (WHR) are at risk

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between blood pressure and the frequency of consuming sodium-rich foods among employees of a western-style fast food restaurant "X" in Hayam Wuruk, Central Jakarta. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 30 respondents aged 20-50 years, selected using purposive sampling. Data on respondent characteristics, blood pressure, and frequency of consuming sodium-rich foods were collected using questionnaires and a food frequency questionnaire (FFQ). The results showed that prehypertension and stage 1 hypertension were more prevalent in respondents who had worked for ≤ 3 years (76.7%), were aged 19-29 years (76.7%), were male (56.7%), had a high school education (96.7%), and rarely consumed sodium-rich foods (43.3%). However, no significant associations were found between blood pressure and duration of working time, sex, age, or frequency of consuming sodium-rich foods (p>0.05). The most frequently consumed sodium-rich foods were chicken eggs, butter, margarine, beef meatballs, chicken noodles, fried tempeh, and bakwan. The prevalence of hypertension in this study (6.7%) was lower than that reported in the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data for Central Jakarta (39.05%). The study's limitations include the focus on a single fast food restaurant and the small sample size. The findings suggest that restaurant employees should avoid high-sodium foods and monitor their blood pressure regularly.

Abstract

Determining the nutritional status of children under five depends heavily on accurate measurement results and the measuring instruments used. This study aims to develop a digital length and height measuring instrument for children under five who are able to measure automatically with an accuracy of 0.1 cm and store results up to 100 children's data. This tool uses a VL53L0X sensor and displays nutritional status directly based on WHO 2006 standards (TB/U). A total of 43 children under five were measured using digital and manual tools. The test results showed that the Technical Error of Measurement (TEM) and reliability values on the digital tool were in the “almost perfect” category (≥0.8), similar to the manual tool. Paired-Samples T-Test results showed no significant difference between the two tools (p>0.05). The digital measurement tool also showed high sensitivity and specificity in detecting nutritional status. Therefore, this tool can be used as a practical alternative in anthropometric measurements in remote areas.
