Abstract

The transformation of learning resources at this time is very important for an effective and efficient teaching and learning process. Learning resources as a foundation and can also be said to be the main factor in the success of the learning process. The transformation of learning resources in accordance with the current digital era can facilitate the achievement of educational goals and also improve students' digital literacy. The purpose of this study is to determine the digital literacy and creativity of Information Technology Education students through the creation of power point presentation materials. The benefits of this study are so that students have a contribution to educational digital literacy, especially the creation of Power Point as presentation materials in the classroom. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Qualitative methods are research methods based on the philosophy of positivism, used to examine the conditions of natural objects where researchers act as key instruments. The data collection techniques in this study are questionnaires and documentation. The questionnaire was made based on the 4P's Model by Kaufman & Sternberg, namely person, process, product, and press. This study uses data analysis techniques consisting of 3 flows of activities that occur simultaneously, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that through the transformation of learning resources can improve digital literacy and can also improve student creativity through technology that is developing very rapidly today, can be seen by producing a power point presentation media product so that it can become digital literacy while increasing student creativity and having a positive impact on the learning process.

Abstract

The Guci Sehati Farmer Group in Nagari Lasi faces several fundamental challenges in their agricultural practices, one of which is dependence on synthetic chemical fertilizers. These fertilizers lead to high production costs and trigger degradation of the soil's physical, chemical, and biological structure. The lack of knowledge about using nature-based materials is a challenge for implementing cultivation practices in this farmer group. Additionally, there is an abundance of locally available organic materials such as agricultural waste, weeds, and livestock manure that have not been optimally utilized for producing environmentally friendly fertilizers. This community service program focuses on technical mentoring for making Tithonia-based compost at the Guci Sehati Farmer Group, Kanagarian Lasi, Agam Regency. The main problems faced by partners are high dependency on synthetic chemical fertilizers, expensive agricultural inputs, and suboptimal utilization of local biomass such as Tithonia diversifolia which is abundant in the surrounding environment. The aim of this activity is to empower farmers with skills to make quality organic fertilizer to create more sustainable and independent agriculture. The implementation method includes three main stages: (1) socialization and direct demonstration of Tithonia composting techniques, (2) participatory assistance during the fermentation and turning process, and (3) monitoring and evaluation of compost quality. The mentoring results showed a significant increase in farmers' capacity, where all participants successfully produced Tithonia compost that met physical quality standards, namely dark brown color, crumbly texture, stable temperature, and no odor. The conclusion of this activity is that participatory technical assistance is effective in transferring Tithonia composting technology, reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers, and optimizing local resources, thus directly contributing to strengthening food sovereignty and implementing sustainable agriculture at the farmer level.

Abstract

Horticulture plants are fruits, vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants, which are easy to cultivate in home gardens, could reduce household consumption expenditure and offer the good impact for family food security. Therefore, it is necessary to perform community training on horticulture technology by utilizing local resources. The purposes of this community service are to increase public awareness of the home garden’s existence and management, to increase the insight and knowledge of PKK members in horticultural crops cultivation, and to engage PKK members to practice horticulture cultivation in home garden. This community service was located in Taeh Bukik village, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra from June‒September 2020. Methods of activities are audience, counseling, training, mentoring, while evaluation method are interview, observation, and survey to the trainees home gardens. This service, is moderately successful by being able to increase public awareness of the importance of the homegarden, increase the insight and knowledge of PKK members on horticulture cultivation, and PKK members were engage to practice horticulture cultivation in their own home garden, which is evidenced by the increase of plant diversity and plants arrangement practice in home gardens.

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) is a short-lived leafy vegetable with high nutrient requirements and is highly responsive to environmental conditions, making it well-suited for cultivation using hydroponic systems. Additionally, the limited availability of agricultural land in urban areas due to land conversion necessitates efficient cultivation methods that do not rely on soil. Hydroponic systems offer more precise control over nutrient management and the growing environment compared to conventional soil-based cultivation, potentially increasing production efficiency on limited land. The success of hydroponic pakcoy production is significantly influenced by the type of growing medium, which supports root development, maintains water availability, and facilitates aeration and nutrient absorption. Therefore, research on various growing media is essential to identify the most effective medium for enhancing pakcoy plant growth and yield. This study aims to: 1) determine the effect of various growing media on the growth and production of pakcoy plants in hydroponic systems (Brassica rapa L.); and 2) identify the best alternative growing medium for optimizing the growth and production of pakcoy in hydroponic cultivation. The research was conducted from May to July 2025 in the greenhouse of the Payakumbuh State Agricultural Polytechnic, Harau District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra. This study employed a completely randomized design (CRD) with a non-factorial approach. The factor studied was the growing media, consisting of seven treatments: rockwool, bamboo humus, coconut fiber, chopped fern, rockwool + bamboo humus, rockwool + coconut fiber, and rockwool + chopped fern. The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, leaf length, root length, and fresh plant weight. The results indicated that variations in growing media significantly affected the growth and production of Pakcoy plants in the hydroponic system. The combination of rockwool and coconut fiber as planting media yielded the best results for Pakcoy plant growth and production. Therefore, the optimal alternative planting media for Pakcoy growth and production in the hydroponic system was rockwool combined with coconut fiber.
