Abstract

Companies classified under the Consumer Cyclicals group on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) tend to experience fluctuations in financial performance due to economic conditions and consumer behavior changes. The main problem in this study is to analyze the profitability levels of companies in this sector during the 2021-2023 period and identify the factors influencing financial performance fluctuations. This study aims to analyze the financial performance of companies classified under the Consumer Cyclicals group listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2021-2023. Financial performance assessment is conducted using profitability ratios, namely Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Net Profit Margin (NPM). The research sample consists of three companies with the largest market capitalization: PT Surya Citra Media Tbk, PT MNC Digital Entertainment Tbk, and PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk. This research employs a quantitative descriptive method, utilizing financial ratio analysis based on the companies' annual financial statements. Secondary data were obtained from financial reports published by IDX. The analysis results indicate that the financial performance of the three companies fluctuated during the study period. The ROA calculations show that PT Surya Citra Media Tbk experienced a decline from 5.09% in 2021 to 2.38% in 2023. Similarly, PT MNC Digital Entertainment Tbk recorded a decrease in ROA from 2.45% in 2021 to 1.64% in 2023. In contrast, PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk saw an increase in ROA from 7.52% in 2022 to 10,0% in 2023. The findings of this study suggest that the financial performance of companies in the Consumer Cyclicals sector tends to vary, influenced by factors such as asset growth, investment strategies, and efficiency in managing capital and revenue. This study is expected to provide valuable insights for investors, academics, and company management in making strategic decisions regarding investment and financial management. Abstract

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common compression neuropathy with symptoms of pain, tingling, and numbness in the hands. Perineural injections of steroids and mecobalamin have been shown to be effective in relieving CTS symptoms. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the perineural injection of mecobalamin and 5% dextrose on clinical changes and electrophysiological features in CTS sufferers. Methods: This research is a pilot study open-label randomized controlled trial conducted at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang. A total of 24 CTS patients were randomly divided into two groups: the mecobalamin group (n=12) and the 5% dextrose group (n=12). Patients in both groups received a single perineural injection. Results: In the mecobalamin group, there were significant improvements in pain scores (NPRS), Boston carpal tunnel questionnaire (BCTQ) - symptom severity scale (SSS), and functional status scale (FSS) after 2 weeks. In the 5% dextrose group, there were also significant improvements in pain scores and BCTQ-SSS and BCTQ-FSS scores. However, the electrophysiological picture did not change significantly after 2 weeks of perineural injection. Comparison between groups showed significant differences in NPRS, BCTQ-FSS, and sensory amplitude. Conclusion: Perineural injection of mecobalamin and 5% dextrose is effective in improving clinical symptoms of CTS. Mecobalamin showed better effects on improving NPRS, BCTQ-SSS, and sensory conduction amplitude than 5% dextrose.
