Abstract

This study looks at how movies affect Nigerian youth culture, especially for the second generation of millennials”those born between 1995 and 2004. Films have had a significant influence since the late 1920s. In the 1950s, as this medium became more and more popular, worries about possible risks also increased, particularly with regard to young audiences. This study evaluates how important a role film has played in the development of Nigerian youth culture. It also looks at the differences between film and other mass media in terms of how much of an impact film has had on the country's youth culture. The survey method of data collecting and analysis is used in this study, which the cultivation theory of mass communication serves as the pivot. With the use of SPSS software, it also employs descriptive and inferential statistics for data analysis. According to the study, movies have a huge influence on young culture because they can emotionally connect with audiences and depict serious subjects in a way that is agreeable, relatable, and entertaining. Consequently, the study suggested that in order to fully utilize movies' potential as a tool for teaching young people moral principles, cooperation between the Nigerian government and the country's film industry should be established.

Abstract

The study is mainly based on the impact of home movies on the morals and cultural values of Nigerian youths in Delta state. With a survey approach, 225 participants from Abraka Grammar School, University Secondary School and Ojeta Secondary School were sampled by using purposive sampling techniques. Copies of a structured questionnaire were distributed to students to collect information on their perceptions regarding the dressing styles, fashion depictions in home videos, and the effects of the same on cultural behavior and economic trends. It is seen that students' evaluations of dressing styles and fashion trends under study of home videos have the strongest effect on cultural values of young Nigerian adults in Delta State. Therefore, it is worth mentioning that the economy of individuals living in Delta is also affected by the actions of the Nigerian youths who watch home movies. Suggestions include encouraging limitation on the watching of movies that are not virtuous, but rather use of those that may seem helpful for the same. However, this may not be a practical measure to reduce immoral behavior. Furthermore, the emphasis must be put more on the positive aspects of the films found in the home movie.

Abstract

This study examines how women in the workforce participate in succession planning in Domestic Airline Operators in Nigeria under the supervision of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. The Social Action theory was chosen as the study's theoretical foundation and 273 respondents was chosen for this study using random and purposeful sampling methods. The use of questionnaires allowed for the collection of quantitative data. The findings of study revealed that the distribution of strategic duties, employees’ promotion, and other forms of organizational segregation, however, all display gender inequality. Working with seasoned employees who have a track record of success without gender discrimination, as well as understanding the key principles of an effective succession planning and management initiative, can make succession planning a simple and time-saving process. As a result of the findings among others, the government should focus more on passing efficient laws that will support women's empowerment and equity among Nigeria's Domestic Airline Operators.
