Abstract

Introduction Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis germs, these germs enter the human body through inhaled air then enter the breathing and into the lungs, the incoming germs can spread from the lungs to other parts of the body through the circulatory system, lymph duct system, through the respiratory tract (bronchus) and spread to other parts of the body. This study aims to determine the picture of the quality of life of Pulmonary TB patients at the Lalang Village Health Center, Medan Sunggal District 2023. Method Research this study used a descriptive research design. The population in this study is all lung TB patients in the Lalang Village Health Center, Medan Sunggal District, totaling 63 people. The sampling technique used is total sampling, which amounted to 63 samples. The instrument used is the Kidney Disease Quality of Life Short Form 36 (KDQOL SF 36) questionnaire. Results research show that from 63 respondents, 35 people (55.6%) had low quality of life and 28 people (44.4%) from 63 respondents. Conclusion explained most of the quality of life of Pulmonary TB patients at the Lalang Village Health Center, Medan Sunggal District in 2023 in the low category is 35 people (55.6%).

Abstract

Parents knowledge about first aid for febrile convulsions in children can be seen from the actions taken by parents when their children have febrile convulsions. The first aid action taken by parents is an understanding of the help of febrile seizures in children. Extracranial processes and too rapid an increase in body temperature cause febrile seizures. If a person's body temperature rises and is not controlled quickly, this can lead to febrile seizures. Febrile convulsions are rapid, transient, or sudden changes in brain function with a rise in body temperature > 38°C. This study aims to describe parents' knowledge about first aid for febrile seizures. The method uses is descriptive method with the number of samples of this study 67 respondents. Data collection techniques are carried out by distributing questionnaires. The results of this study show that parental knowledge in the good knowledge category are 24 respondents (37.70%), sufficient knowledge are 33 respondents (47.54%) and poor knowledge are 10 respondents (14.75%). This study conclud that the knowledge of parents about first aid for febrile seizures in children was in the moderate category. Parents state that parents always measure their children's body temperature using a thermometer when they have a fever and always accompany their children when they have febrile seizures. The results of this study are expected to provide information to health workers and provide information to parents regarding first aid for febrile seizures in children to help and teach parents to perform good and correct febrile seizures.

Abstract

Introduction Anxiety in chemotherapy patients who have just undergone chemotherapy has high anxiety due to ignorance and the side effects of chemotherapy that will be carried out and lack of knowledge. In this case, an Adaptive coping mechanism is needed to reduce the level of Anxiety in chemotherapy patients. The purpose of this study was to see the relationship between coping mechanisms and anxiety levels in patients undergoing chemotherapy. The research method uses a cross-sectional method design. The sample in this study uses a purposive sampling technique of 90 people. The measuring instrument uses the Ways of Coping questionnaire and the Halmilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The results showes that the coping mechanisms in respondents were more maladaptive coping mechanisms 66 people (73.3%), and severe anxiety levels 58 people (64.4%). Statistical test of the relationship between coping mechanisms and anxiety levels in patients undergoing chemotherapy using the Spearman rank test obtains a p value = 0.001, meaning that there is a relationship between coping mechanisms and anxiety levels in patients undergoing chemotherapy with a correlation coefficient value of -0.0841, a negative pattern relationship with very strong strength. Conclusion The researcher hopes that patients undergoing chemotherapy will get more sources of information related to their current illness, so that patients do not feel too anxious about their current illness.

Abstract

Introduction: Elementary school children play a very important role in the development stages of children in their middle and final stages of childhood. Children's emotional mental health can also influence their own future, and have a big impact on family, friends, teachers and society, because Parents need to supervise their children when using smartphones. The duration of smartphone use for children aged 3-S years is 1 hour per day and for children aged 6-18 years is 2 hours per day. Method:The design of this research is a quantitative descriptive design using a cross sectional approach. The samples for this research are 71 students using a total sampling technique. The measuring tool for this research used the SDQ (Strength & Difficulties Questionnaire) questionnaire. There are 5 categories or aspects of behavior that are measured to detect emotional mental health, namely emotional problems, behavioral problems, hyperactivity, peer problems, and prosocial, each category has 3 divisions, Normal Borderline, Abnormal. Result:The research results obtain are Normal 4 (5.6%), Borderline 62 (87.4%). Abnormal are 5 (7.0%). Conclusion:It is hoped that this research will provide input for elementary school children so that they can adapt to their environment. Parents also play a very important role for children so that children do not become addicted to smartphones.

Abstract

Keluarga yang menunggu pasien di ruang ICU dapat mengalami kecemasan, hal ini disebabkan karena menunggu anggota keluarga yang sedang mengalami perawatan kritis merupakan salah satu faktor kecemasan keluarga pasien dirawat di ruang intensive. Kelcelmasan melrulpakan sulatul keladaan pikiran dimana selselorang melrasakan keltakultan yang telruls-melnelruls dan belrlelbihan selrta sullit dikelndalikan selhingga dapat belrdampak bulrulk dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk Melngidelntifikasi Gambaran Kelcelmasan Kellularga Pasieln Di Rulang Intelnsivel Carel Ulnit (ICUl) Rulmah Sakit Santa Ellisabelth Meldan Tahuln 2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini deskritif menggunakan pendekatan desain studi cross sectional. Penelitian ini menggunakan tehnik purporsive sampling dengan kriteria inklusi, didapatkan jumlah sampel 96 responden di Ruang Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Rumah Sakit Santa Elisabeth Medan. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kusioner ZSAS (Zulng Sellf-Rating Axielty Scalel). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat kecemasan berdasarkan kategori kecemasan paling tinggi adalah kecemasan sedang sebanyak 58 responden (60.4%), kecemasan berat sebanyak 22 responden (22.9%) dan kecemasan ringan sebanyak 16 responden (16.7%). Simpulan ini adalah peran keluarga terhadap pasien menjadi berkurang karena tidak banyak terlibat dalam perawatan pasif dan tidak dapat mendampingi pasien di ruang ICU setiap saat, sehingga keluarga akan mengalami kecemasan. Kecemasan ini disebabkan karena ketakutan keluarga yang dipengaruhi oleh terpisahnya secara fisik dengan anggota keluarga, takut akan kematian, biaya  perawatan, keadaan pasien makin memburuk/ngedrop, atau kecatatan tubuh yang disebabkan banyak terpasang alat.

Abstract

Anxiety is an emotional response to uncertainty or threats that cause feelings of anxiety, worry, excessive tension, which are continuous and can interfere with the patient's process of action and healing, therefore it is necessary to have good and correct therapeutic communication, to build a relationship of mutual trust, empathy, support and help the patient in problem solving. This study aims to identify the Relationship between Nurse Therapeutic Communication and Anxiety Level in Preoperative Patients at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan in 2024. The research design uses correlational with a cross sectional approach, purposive sampling technique with a sample of 64 respondents. The instruments used were the nurse therapeutic communication questionnaire and the anxiety questionnaire. The results of the study showed that the majority of therapeutic communication among nurses in the inpatient room of Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan was in the good category as many as 34 respondents (53.1%), and the level of anxiety of preoperative patients was majority in the medium category as many as 30 respondents (46.9%). The spearman rank statistical test on SPSS obtained a P-Value = 0.000 which means that there is a relationship between the therapeutic communication of nurses and the level of patient anxiety at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan. It is expected that the nurses in Pauline's room will further improve therapeutic communication to pre-operative patients.
