Abstract

Coronavirus is a virus that can cause mild symptoms as well as severe symptoms, which have never been previously found in humans. Coronavirus can cause respiratory problems characterized by flu symptoms, fever, shortness of breath, cough with phlegm, to cause heavy breathing such as lung infection with an incubation period of 5-6 days with the longest incubation of 14 days results showed that out of 95 respondents, 55 respondents (57.9%) had good knowledge and 40 respondents (42.1%) had sufficient knowledge. The results of the research show that the people in Desa Baru Dusun 1 Pancur Batu District have good knowledge. It is hoped that the public will continue to follow health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands frequently, social distancing or maintaining distance to prevent the spread of COVID-19.Knowledge of Covid-19 is information that must be possessed in an effort to reduce the spread or transmission of Covid-19. The reason the researchers conducted this research, was due to the lack of public knowledge about Covid-19 which caused them not to wear masks and comply with health protocols in carrying out their daily activities. Based on the preliminary survey, it was found that out of the 12 people selected, 5 people (41.6%) did not know about COVID-19. This study aims to determine the description of public knowledge about COVID-19 in Desa Baru Dusun 1 Pancur Batu District. The research method used is to use a descriptive research design. The population in this research was 1816 people. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling with a total sample of 95 people. The results showed that out of 95 respondents, 55 respondents (57.9%) had good knowledge and 40 respondents (42.1%) had sufficient knowledge. The results of the research show that the people in Desa Baru Dusun 1 Pancur Batu District have good knowledge. It is hoped that the public will continue to follow health protocols such as wearing masks, syringes, maintaining social distancing or maintaining distance to prevent COVID-19.

Abstract

Baby blues is a condition where there is a change in mood in postpartum mothers that occurs every time after the mother gives birth to her baby. Baby blues occur due to several factors, namely internal and external. Symptoms that appear in postpartum mothers can interfere with the mother's ability to carry out roles, one of which is caring for the baby and inhibiting the release of oxytocin which ultimately reduces milk production. Family support is a way to prevent or overcome the increase in psychological disorders felt by postpartum mothers through motivation and enthusiasm in preventing mothers from experiencing postpartum blues. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and baby blues Incidence on Postpartum Mothers at Pulau Terap Village Kampar Regency Riau Province 2022. This study use a cross sectional design with a total sampling of 46 respondents. The results shows that there is no family support for postpartum mothers as much as 56.5% and postpartum mothers who experienced severe baby blues as much as 45.7%. Data analysis shows that there is a relationship between family support and the incidence of baby blues on postpartum mothers at Pulau Terap Village, Kampar Regency, from the results of the chi square statistical test found p-value = 0.001. It is hoped that further researchers will be able to examine postpartum mothers who are currently experiencing the baby blues, and can implement an intervention in reducing or preventing the baby blues.

Abstract

Proper wound care will accelerate wound healing. Where the impact/complications of the wound can damage the physiology of the skin in the patient. Therefore, wound care techniques are one of the supporting factors in accelerating wound healing and restoring skin physiology by using moist wound healing techniques, which can help heal wounds more effectively. In this case, nurses are required to have knowledge about wound care using the moist wound healing method in hospitals. The purpose of the study was to identify nurses' knowledge about wound care using the moist wound healing method at Elisabeth Hospital Medan in 2022. Methods: The research method used was descriptive research. The sampling technique used total sampling technique, with a total sample size of 31 respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire of nurses' knowledge about wound care using the moist wound healing method. Results: The majority of nurses' knowledge is sufficient as many as 18 people (58.1%) but there are still as many as 7 people (22.6%) who have less knowledge about this method. Conclusion: It is hoped that nurses can better understand and apply the moist wound healing method to improve the quality of service at Elisabeth Hospital Medan.

Abstract

Bullying can occur for various reasons, such as injustice, ignorance, or the desire to dominate or control other people. Factors such as differences in physical strength, culture, or even the perpetrator's lack of self-confidence also influence the occurrence of bullying. It involves an urge to harm, which can drive a person to perform physical, psychological, or verbal acts that cause suffering to the victim. The impact is very significant for perpetrators who tend to be aggressive and have bullying tendencies, as well as for victims who often experience anxiety, even depression, which can sometimes lead to thoughts of committing suicide. The aim of this research is to identify a picture of knowledge about bullying among level I students. This research method is descriptive. The sample in this research are 127 respondents with sampling technique using the Simple Random Sampling technique. This research instrument uses a questionnaire. The results of the research show a picture of knowledge about bullying among level I students in good knowledge category of 80.3%, sufficient knowledge of 11.8%, and poor knowledge of 7.9%. It is hoped that educational institutions can provide seminars on bullying and anti-bullying policies within the Santa Elisabeth Medan College of Health Sciences.

Abstract

Parents knowledge about first aid for febrile convulsions in children can be seen from the actions taken by parents when their children have febrile convulsions. The first aid action taken by parents is an understanding of the help of febrile seizures in children. Extracranial processes and too rapid an increase in body temperature cause febrile seizures. If a person's body temperature rises and is not controlled quickly, this can lead to febrile seizures. Febrile convulsions are rapid, transient, or sudden changes in brain function with a rise in body temperature > 38°C. This study aims to describe parents' knowledge about first aid for febrile seizures. The method uses is descriptive method with the number of samples of this study 67 respondents. Data collection techniques are carried out by distributing questionnaires. The results of this study show that parental knowledge in the good knowledge category are 24 respondents (37.70%), sufficient knowledge are 33 respondents (47.54%) and poor knowledge are 10 respondents (14.75%). This study conclud that the knowledge of parents about first aid for febrile seizures in children was in the moderate category. Parents state that parents always measure their children's body temperature using a thermometer when they have a fever and always accompany their children when they have febrile seizures. The results of this study are expected to provide information to health workers and provide information to parents regarding first aid for febrile seizures in children to help and teach parents to perform good and correct febrile seizures.

Abstract

Background: First aid is the initial action provided to an individual who experiences an injury or emergency condition before receiving further medical assistance. Adequate first aid knowledge is crucial in preventing further injuries and even death. According to WHO data (2018), accidents are the leading cause of injury and death among school-aged children. SMA Santo Thomas 1 Medan has a School Health Unit (UKS), yet many students still have limited knowledge of first aid. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of the audiovisual method in improving students' first aid knowledge. Objective: This study aims to examine the difference in first aid knowledge levels before and after receiving health education using the audiovisual method among 11th-grade students at SMA Santo Thomas 1 Medan in 2024. Results: This research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a pre-post test design without a control group. The sample consisted of 81 randomly selected students. Before receiving health education, 93.8% of students had good knowledge, while 6.2% had sufficient knowledge. After the intervention using the audiovisual method, all students (100%) demonstrated good knowledge. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the audiovisual method is effective in enhancing students' first aid knowledge. Therefore, it is recommended to incorporate this method into school health education programs to improve students' preparedness in handling emergency situations.

Abstract

SBAR communication is a method used by medical personnel to convey information about the patient's condition. This technique is applied during the nursing handover process, also known as Hand Over, as well as when the patient is transferred to the inpatient room. the type of research in this study is descriptive with a quantitative research design, with a population of 67 respondents, the sampling technique in this study is purposive sampling. The instrument used is the SBAR technique communication observation sheet . Based on the results of direct research to respondents regarding SBAR technique communication (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation), the overall results were good (100%). Based on the results of the study of the description of the application of SBAR communication techniques in the Inpatient Room of Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan in 2024 with a total of 67 nurses, it was obtained Based on the SBAR communication technique of Nurses in the Inpatient Room of Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan in 2024 with a good category of 67 respondents (100%).

Abstract

Rheumatoid arthritis joint pain in the elderly is a result of the body's calcification and reduction in synovium fluid lining the joints, or a disease caused by degenerative changes in the musculoskeletal system. Most elderly people still use inappropriate methods such as pharmacological therapy (drugs) to treat joint pain. The non-pharmacological method is by using rheumatic exercises. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of rheumatic exercise on reducing the scale of rheumatoid arthritis joint pain in the elderly at UPTD social services for the elderly in Binjai. This research is a quantitative study using pre-experimental design method using one group pre and post test design approach, technique. Sampling was purposive sampling with 19 respondents using G-power software. The instruments used in this research are the Numeric Rating Scale observation sheet and rheumatic gymnastics SOP, which is tested using the paired T-Test. The results of statistical tests show that there is an effect of rheumatic exercise on reducing the scale of rheumatoid arthritis joint pain in the elderly at Binjai Elderly Social Services UPTD 2024. With the results of the paired t-test, it is obtained that ρ value = 0.001. Rheumatic exercise as an alternative treatment that can reduce the scale of rheumatoid arthritis joint pain in the elderly.

Abstract

Cancer is defined as the abnormal growth of cells caused by several changes in gene expression that cause dysregulation of cell proliferation and cell death. The type of research design used is descriptive with a purposive sampling method and the instrument used in this research is a resilience questionnaire. Result: 47 respondents (85.5%) were female and 8 respondents (14.5%) were male, Early elderly (46-55) were 28 respondents (50.9%) and late teenagers 17-25 were 2 respondents (3.6%), married status was 49 respondents (89.1%) and unmarried was 1 respondent (1.8%), housewives work as many as 21 respondents (38.2%) and civil servants as many as 2 respondents (3.6%), slam was 25 respondents (45.5%) and Catholicism was 8 respondents (14.5%), the Javanese were 22 respondents (40%) and the Padang tribe was 1 respondent (1.85), diagnosis of mammary cancer was 43 respondents (78.2%) and melanoma was 3 respondents (5.5%), the duration of cancer > 6 months was 42 respondents (76.4%) and 13 respondents (23.6%), 13 respondents (23.6%) had very high resilience and 4 respondents (7.3%) had very low resilience. Conclusion: It is hoped that cancer sufferers will become more aware of their ability to increase resilience, especially for patients who have low resilience.

Abstract

TBC adalah penyakit menular langsung yang disebabkan oleh kuman Tuberkulosis (Mycobacterium Tuberculosis). Waktu pengobatan Tuberculosis yang lama, minum obat secara teratur tiap hari dan efek samping dari obat anti tuberkulosis merupakan salah satu faktor ketidakpatuhan. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah dengan dukungan dari keluarga dan tenaga kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisa Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga Dengan Kepatuhan Pengobatan Klien Tuberkulosis Di Ruma Sakit Santa Elisabeth Batam Kota. Jenis rancangan skripsi ini adalah non-eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain penelitian korelasi metode pendekatan Cross Sectional. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 79 dengan tehnik pengambilan sampling menggunakan rumus vincent. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dukungan keluarga dan Morinsky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS) untuk mengukur Tingkat Kepatuhan. Dukungan keluarga pada Pasien TBC berada dalam kategori Cukup sejumlah 58 responden (73,4%), kepatuhan pasien TBC dalam mengkonsumsi obat OAT berada pada kategori Tidak Patuh sejumlah 49 responden (62,0%). p value (0,008) < α (0,05), terdapat hubungan antara Dukungan Keluarga Dengan Kepatuhan Pengobatan Klien Tuberkulosis.
