Abstract

Child development in the context of social life is a complex and important topic in developmental psychology. Two theories that have greatly influenced the understanding of children's development in social settings are those of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky. Jean Piaget's theory explains the urgency of the role of cognition in children's development. Piaget describes children constructing their own knowledge through stages of cognitive development. In the context of social life, Piaget's theory highlights how children acquire and adapt knowledge through interaction with their social environment. Children learn by exploring, asking questions, and building knowledge with peers and adults. Meanwhile, Lev Vygotsky emphasized the role of the social environment in children's development. His theory introduced the concept of real developmental fields, where children can learn from interactions with more experienced people. In social life, Vygotsky suggested that children can develop cognitive and social skills through cooperation with adults and peers. This reinforces the idea that learning is a social process that takes place in a social context. The combination of Piaget and Vygotsky's theories helps us understand how children develop an understanding of their social world and how the social environment plays an important role in this process. Through purposeful exploration and interaction in community life, children can build the foundation of social knowledge and skills needed to thrive and become contributing members of society.

Abstract

Pancasila education is a basic thing that must be learned in the world of education. Through Pancasila education, students can gain knowledge and basic values of the Indonesian nation. Teachers have an important role in encouraging and providing facilities for students to actively participate in learning activities. The PBL model is an effective method in developing these abilities through independent learning, investigation, and problem solving in small groups under the guidance of the teacher. Researchers used quantitative methods and literature studies in the article we wrote. With the results that can be concluded that at SDN Gununganyar 273, before the teacher establishes the PBL method with brainstorming, students are not maximized in understanding Pancasila education lessons. But after the teacher applied the PBL method, the students' understanding of Pancasila education increased slightly. In applying the PBL method strategy as well as the brainstorming method can help students understand concepts better because it provides opportunities for learners to build their own concepts by finding solutions to the problems given. However, both methods also have advantages and disadvantages, one of the advantages is that students become more active in learning activities, while the disadvantage is that students who are rarely active will be left behind in learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the optimization of the role of student facilitators of PUSPAGA in public family services at Balai RW 3, Kelurahan Manukan Wetan, Surabaya. The background of this research lies in the importance of the family as the primary environment for character formation and child protection, as well as the growing complexity of family problems in the city of Surabaya, which demands accessible accompaniment services. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the role of students as facilitators has been optimized through counseling, consultation, referral services, parenting classes, and the implementation of the Puspaga Goes to School and Goes to Community programs. Students play an active role in assisting community members in accessing family services easily and free of charge. However, optimization is still constrained by low community participation and the limited multifunctional space available for service delivery. Overall, the program has operated reasonably well and has had a positive impact on improving literacy and family resilience at the neighborhood (RW) level, while also underscoring the importance of strengthening facilitator capacity and institutional support for the sustainability of community-based family services.
