Abstract

This study intends to investigate the effects of conscious and unconscious processes on crypocurrency investment intention. The impact of personal cultural values, profit expectations, and religiosity on intentions for hazardous investments was examined within this paradigm. Additionally, the mediating function of profit expectations in the association between a person's cultural values and religion for crypocurrency investment intents was also examined. Additionally, the topic of religion as a mediator of profit expectations and crypocurrency investing purpose was covered. When our graduate students willingly shared the online survey link on their social networks between February and July 2022, the data were gathered. In all, 446 people responded to the questionnaire in this manner. The AMOS programme was used to carry out structural equation modelling (SEM), which was used to test the research model. In addition to these, the effects of age, education level, sex, and marital status on individual cultural values and investment intentions were examined. The age group of 41 to 50 years old had the highest uncertainty avoidance level. People above the age of 41 had the highest level of long-term orientation. The 51-year-old age group had the least risky investing objectives. Age did not influence collectivism or power distance. The amount of schooling had no impact on any variations in the pertinent variables. Intention to take risks, power distance, masculinity, and collectivism are all greater in men than in women, and married people are more likely to avoid uncertainty and to identify as men than unmarried people. This study is the first to examine the combined effect of conscious and unconscious processes on cryptocurrency investing intentions. The authors have also offered evidence for the presence of a link between these three factors. On the other hand, the number of empirical studies examining the relationship between profit expectancy, religion, and investment intention in cryptocurrency is rather small.

Abstract

This study examines the significance of social capital in Islamic microfinance at BMT La Tansa Gontor. The research uses a systematic review of theoretical and empirical literature. The findings show that group loans with joint liability are effective in overcoming credit market challenges for the impoverished. Peer selection, monitoring, and pressure play a role in this effectiveness. However, the empirical literature suggests that social capital is a complex concept with varying effects on performance. Factors like trust, cultural homogeneity, and peer pressure have a greater influence on repayment compared to family groups. The implications of this research are practical and social. It highlights the need to consider social capital in different areas before implementing microfinance programs. It also emphasizes the importance of forming groups with trustworthy individuals and helping those affected by external factors. Lastly, it suggests avoiding family groups. The originality of this research lies in its comprehensive analysis of social capital and its impact on group performance.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted Islamic banking in Southeast Asia, with corporate governance playing a crucial part in handling and controlling companies. This research studies the influence of issues such as Intellectual Capital, Islamic Income vs. Non- Islamic Income Ratio, and Zakat Performance Ratio on Islamic Corporate Governance in the region post-pandemic. The present research employs quantitative research techniques that depend on secondary data. To gather the necessary data, a documentation approach was adopted, involving the examination of annual reports from Islamic banks in Southeast Asia. Data was acquired through the utilization of a panel data regression model operated by Eviews 12. Findings suggest that intellectual capital and the Islamicity performance index are key drivers of ICG. To improve governance, Islamic banking institutions should focus on preserving intellectual capital and enhancing their Islamicity performance. Continuous efforts to enhance ICG are critical for dealing with global concerns in the aftermath of COVID-19.

Abstract

The significance of financial behaviour among millennials, particularly concerning fintech lending, is important. Fintech lending is a complex subject that is increasingly being studied. However, it also provides a solution for quick and easy funds. This study proposes to notice the financial behaviour of millennials by looking at their financial literacy and how it affects their plan to use fintech lending. The study practices a quantitative research approach and gathered data from 359 respondents through purposive random sampling. Structural equation modelling was used to test the hypotheses. The study found that the variables of the theory of planned behaviour do not directly affect the intention to use fintech, on the other hand, financial literacy has a significant influence. The consequences of this study are useful for investors, financial institutions, and government officials since it emphasises the necessity of knowing millennials' financial behaviours. These behaviours can impact their product choices, as seen in their susceptibility to the FOMO syndrome
