Abstract

Huney guava (Syzygium aqueum) is a potential agricultural product of Secanggang District, Langkat Regency, which is generally sold in fresh fruits. The production of Guava in this area reaches 150 kg per farmer, with 25-30 kg of them remain unsold. This community service aims to disseminate knowledge and technology to farmers about processing honey guava fruit into chips with the trade name "KeJaM". This activity is expected to be a solution for farmers in processing unsold products into new products that can increase economic value, as well as reduce agricultural waste. In this activity, the community service activities team also provided honey herb processing equipment, namely a vacuum fryer and spinner, so that the honey guava chips produced still have the characteristic honey guava taste. KeJaM is a healthy snack which is expected to attract the interest of public in order to improve the economy and welfare of farmers.

Abstract

This bibliometric research investigates trends from various studies on exit policy strategies through economic policies in multiple countries during the COVID-19 pandemic in the scientific literature published by the Scopus-indexed journal. The data analyzed were 740 research publications discussing exit policy during the COVID-19 period. The search determined research datasets in the publishing range from 2019 to 2021. The data is then analyzed using the R application program to determine the bibliometric mapping of exit policy research developments during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results show that in the visualization of the mapping of research developments on this theme, the keywords that appear the most are Fiscal Policy, Macroeconomics, Monetary Policy, Economic Recovery and Gross Domestic Product. Based on the cluster analysis, it can be concluded that there are at least four research lines, namely: (1) exit policy on fiscal; (2) exit policy and public health; (3) exit policy on monetary policy; and (4) exit policy and SMEs. This study also provides information about exit policies on economic policies implemented in various countries in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of efficiency on loan interest rates at banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and their impact before and after the implementation of Expected Credit Losses in Indonesia. The analysis method of this research uses panel data regression with a random effect model to see the effect of efficiency on loan interest rates. The sample of this study uses 22 banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange where the source of research data is from the Bloomberg Finance Lab, Diponegoro University. Efficiency has more influence on loan interest rates before the implementation of expected credit losses than after the implementation. In determining loan interest rates, banks tend to prefer to use credit risk compared to efficiency by looking at the potential profit obtained from looking at the comparison of interbank loan interest rates. These results show that loan interest rates are not easily lowered as a consequence of monetary policy. The results of this study also show that expected credit loss can reduce loan interest rates so that banks are more likely to increase credit risk by increasing loan supply.

Abstract

In an effort to understand the interactions between economic growth, population density, the Human Development Index (HDI), and the Environmental Quality Index (EQI) in Indonesia, this study adopts a quantitative approach utilizing panel data encompassing 34 provinces during the period from 2020 to 2022. This analysis implements fixed effects models in panel data regression to isolate the impact of these variables on environmental quality. Results indicate that neither economic growth nor population density significantly affect the EQI, while an increase in HDI significantly contributes to environmental improvement, emphasizing the importance of factors such as education, health, and living standards. Furthermore, the cross-section fixed effects analysis reveals significant provincial-specific factors influencing the EQI, which macroeconomic and demographic variables cannot fully explain. Variability among provinces shows that some have a strong positive effect on the EQI, whereas others have a negative impact, highlighting the need for regionally tailored policies to enhance effectiveness in environmental conservation efforts. These findings inform policymakers about the importance of focusing on human development as a key element in strategies to improve environmental quality in Indonesia. The implications suggest that sustainable development strategies must integrate aspects of human development with comprehensive environmental policies, creating synergies that support environmental preservation. This study makes a significant contribution to the literature by providing insights into effective ways that Indonesia can adopt to address current and future environmental challenges.

Abstract

Sekolah Indonesia Bangkok (SIB) faces challenges in utilizing online presentation platforms such as Canva, Prezi, and Slidebean. Both students and teachers have limited understanding of advanced features, leading to low-quality presentations and limited creativity in delivering lesson materials. Additionally, no formal training has been provided to maximize the use of these tools in the school environment. Students also get learning materials or guidebooks accompanied by learning stationery, as well as practical materials in the form of online platform web links that are ready to be processed. The guidebook given to the students is not limited to the training, but can be used outside of the training session. The learning method used in these learning activities is project-based learning where students will get an understanding of the benefits of creativity in presentation media and material on the use of online platforms 4.0, then continued with practical sessions where students are directed to implement the material received with online platforms provided through website links. The benefits of this community service activity are determined by considering the cognitive and psychomotor aspects demonstrated by the students. Based on the results of pre-test and post-test conducted on 35 participants, there was an average increase of 45% in students understanding of the use of the Canva, Prezi, and Slidebean platforms. Before the training, only 30% of students understood the basic features of these platforms, while after the training, this number increased to 75%.

Abstract

Community service activities carried out at Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur aim to increase students' understanding of Indonesian customs and culture, especially North Sumatra. The implementation method shown to partners is to use media that illustrates and provides clear information and knowledge about the diversity of customs and culture in North Sumatra, through exposure, question and answer discussions and video screenings of various dances in North Sumatra, which are played directly by students of the Development Economics Study Program, University of North Sumatra, as well as video screenings of traditional houses in North Sumatra, tribes originating from North Sumatra, to traditional houses in North Sumatra. Partners are expected to contribute to increasing the knowledge and understanding of Indonesian School Kuala Lumpur students towards ethnic and cultural diversity in North Sumatra and support a sense of nationalism in order to preserve these customs and cultures.
