Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by ice breaking on students' mathematical representation abilities and learning independence. The method used is a quantitative method with an experimental research type. The sample consists of 27 students of VIII B as an experimental class and 20 students of class VIII A as a control class at MTs Zia Salsabila Bandar Setia. The results of the study showed that the t-test analysis that had been carried out obtained a p-value = 0.00 0.05 and p-value = 0.0001 0.005. The data explains that   is accepted and  is rejected. The average n-gain obtained in the experimental class was 0.64 and 0.57 while the control class obtained a value of 0.16 and 0.29 so that the average difference in n-gain was 0.48 and 0.28. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the mathematical representation ability and learning independence of students who learn using the PBL learning model assisted by ice breaking are better than students who learn in class with conventional learning models. There is an influence of the use of the PBL learning model assisted by ice breaking on students' mathematical representation abilities and learning independence.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the extent to which there are significant differences in learning outcomes and learning processes with students' mathematical creative thinking abilities when viewed based on gender in students in class XI IPA MAS Muhammadiyah 01 Medan. The method used is a detailed descriptive method with instruments in the form of tests, a semi-structured interview process and supporting documents. Based on the results of the analysis of students' creative thinking abilities in mathematics based on gender, the researchers concluded that the results of students' creative thinking abilities were carried out using tests and interviews. Male students still do not develop the ability to think creatively with very creative interpretations, because there is one indicator of creative thinking ability that is not met, namely flexibility. Meanwhile, female students have developed creative thinking skills with very creative interpretations and meet all the indicators. Overall, male students in class XI Science at MAS Muhammadiyah 01 Medan tend to have lower mathematical creative thinking abilities than female students. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using Genially interactive learning media on students’ understanding of mathematical concepts among grade X students at MAN 3 Medan. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design involving two groups: an experimental group that used Genially-based interactive learning and a control group that received traditional instruction. Two classes were randomly selected as samples. The data were collected using pre-test and post-test instruments that had been validated and tested for reliability. The results showed that students who were taught using Genially achieved higher post-test scores than those taught through conventional methods, with a mean difference of 13.4950 > . Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the two groups, suggesting that the use of Genially interactive media has a positive impact on students’ comprehension of mathematical concepts. The findings suggest that integrating Genially into classroom learning can enhance engagement, motivation, and conceptual understanding, making abstract mathematical material more concrete and accessible for students. Overall, the study highlights the potential of digital interactive media as a powerful tool for enhancing learning outcomes in mathematics education.

Abstract

Matematika adalah salah satu mata pelajaran yang menduduki peranan penting dalam dunia pendidikan, namun kenyataannya hasil belajar matematika peserta didik masih sangat rendah. Salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran matematika yang diterapkan dalam mengatasi rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yaitu dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) merupakan salah satu pendekatan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika untuk mempermudah peserta didik dalam penyerapan materi serta pengalaman mereka secara langsung yang terfokus dengan menempatkan permasalahan–permasalahan yang ditemukan dalam kegiatan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) terhadap Pemahaman Konsep Matematis Siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi eksperimen dan desain yang digunakan adalah desain pretest-posttest control grup design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan. Sampel penelitian diambil secara acak sebanyak 2 kelas, instrumen penelitian dengan menggunakan tes. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji T. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh pendekatan realistic mathematics education (RME) trehadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.
