Abstract

The quality of education is very dependent on the professional competence of teachers. This study aims to compare professional competence between teachers in Indonesia and Thailand. This research uses a qualitative approach, emphasizing comparative descriptive research. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 6 teachers (3 from Indonesia and 3 from Thailand) representing various levels of education. Data analysis was carried out using comparative analysis. The results showed significant differences in professional competence between the two countries. Teachers in Indonesia tend to focus on mastering subject matter and implementing the national curriculum, while teachers in Thailand place more emphasis on developing interpersonal skills, classroom management skills, and the use of technology in learning. Factors that influence these differences include different education systems, educational policies, and the culture and social values of society. This research provides valuable insights for education stakeholders in both countries in designing policies and teacher training programs that meet the demands of the times. In addition, this research also contributes to further understanding of the comparison of education systems and teaching practices between Indonesia and Thailand.

Abstract

Penggunaan teknologi di kalangan pelajar memang memiliki dampak positif dan negatif. Namun, seringnya penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan pada pelajar, cenderung mengganggu konsentrasi dalam pembelajaran dan menimbulkan penurunan produktivitas. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti membuat sebuah inovasi baru berupa Word Warrior Game. Adapun tujuan penelitian adalah Untuk menentukan apakah word warrior game dapat efektif dalam meningkatkan Vocabulary bahasa Inggris pada pelajar SD di Kartasura. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Kartasura. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif yang didukung oleh data-data kuantitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari tempat/peristiwa, informan, dan dokumen, serta data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara Purposive Sampling, karena peneliti memilih sampel berdasarkan karakteristik tertentu yang dianggap relevan dengan tujuan penelitian. Sampel pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga kelompok pelajar SD di kecamatan Kartasura berdasarkan data UPTD Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan di kecamatan Kartasura serta Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Sukoharjo, yang meliputi high, middle, dan low. Model interaktif digunakan untuk teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini. Triangulasi data digunakan untuk teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data. Hipotesis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan Word Warrior Game mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dalam Vocabulary Bahasa Inggris dibandingkan dengan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Permainan yang menantang dan mendidik seperti Word Warrior Game, diharapkan pelajar dapat secara langsung meningkatkan Vocabulary dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris..
