Abstract

Media literacy is one part of the realm of  library and information science in creating a literate society. The discussion in this research concerns student competence in using social media at SMA Teuku Nyak Ariief Bilingual School. The method used is descriptive quantitative using a Likert scale measurement instrument with a scale of 1-4. The sample in this study was 30 grade 3 female students. The problem in this research is what is the level of students' skills in using social media at SMA Teuku Nyak Ariief Bilingual School using two indicators, namely technical skills and critical understanding. The results of the research show that class 3 students when using social media are in the medium phase with a percentage ranging from 80%. It can be interpreted that the third grade students at SMA Teuku Nyak Ariief Bilingual School understand that individuals are already proficient in using media, know its function and are able to carry out certain functions and carry out more complex activities.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Literasi media merupakan salah satu bagian ranah dari ilmu perpustakaan dan informais dalam mewujudkan masyarakat yang literat. Pembahasan dalam penelitian ini mengenai kompetensi siswa dalam bermedia sosial pada SMA Teuku Nyak Arief Bilingual School. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif deskriptif. Pada penelitian ini metode pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dengan skala likert, sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswi kelas 3 yang berjumlah 30 orang siswa. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini yaitu bagaimakah tingkat keterampilan siswa dalam bermedia sosial pada SMA Teuku Nyak Arief Bilingual School  dengan menggunakan dua Indikator yaitu technical skill dan critical understanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas 3 pada saat bermedia sosial berada pada fase medium dengan persentase berkisar pada 80%. Dapat diartikan bahwa siswa kelas 3 SMA Teuku Nyak Arief Bilingual School pengertian bahwa Individu sudah mahir dalam menggunakan media, mengetahui fungsinya dan mampu menjalankan fungsi tertentu serta melakukan aktivitas yang lebih kompleks.

Abstract

The growing usage of digital technologies raised concerns regarding the possible adverse effects of digital amnesia, in which people forget readily available knowledge saved in their gadgets. This study investigated the effects of digital amnesia on memory retention and knowledge construction through experiment studies. The tasks given to the participants required either digital devices or more conventional memory storage and retrieval methods. Memory performance and knowledge construction were assessed through various tests and assessments. The findings indicated that excessive reliance on digital devices for information storage led to digital amnesia. Participants who used digital tools exhibited lower memory retention and shallower information processing compared to those employing traditional memory strategies. The results highlighted the negative implications of digital amnesia for memory retention and knowledge construction. Striking a balance between reliance on digital tools and active engagement in memory processes was crucial. Actively encoding and retrieving information can mitigate risks associated with shallow processing and information overload.

Abstract

The Cultural Week Exhibition on Cultural Literacy is an event or activity held to exhibit, introduce, and celebrate various aspects of the culture of a region, nation, or community as a form of awareness to be literate against crocodiles. The purpose of the research is to analyze the definition and components of cultural literacy based on existing literature, as well as how this concept is applied in the context of cultural exhibitions. This research uses a literature review research method with the technique of reading and studying various journals, books, and various published manuscripts, and then systematic selection and analysis of data. Then relevant and high-quality data will be selected as results for the research. The results of the research are that cultural exhibitions can increase public awareness of the importance of preserving local culture, as well as maintain cultural identity, and encourage active participation in cultural activities. Cultural exhibitions not only function as a forum to build solidarity but also form an appreciation for cultural diversity. Then relevant and high-quality data will be selected as results for the research.

Abstract

Menurunnya minat kunjung perpustakaan seringkali disebabkan oleh kesulitan pemustaka dalam menemukan koleksi secara mandiri (Self-Circulation), meskipun telah tersedia OPAC. Kecemasan dan ketidakefisienan dalam mencari lokasi rak menjadi masalah umum. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang aplikasi mobile FindIt yang memanfaatkan teknologi Augmented Reality (AR) sebagai sistem Self-Circulation untuk mempermudah dan mempercepat proses pencarian serta pengembalian koleksi di perpustakaan. Metode perancangan yang digunakan adalah Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) dengan Unified Modelling Language (UML), diawali observasi di UPT Perpustakaan UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, dilanjutkan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan diagram use case, activity, sequence, serta pembuatan prototype high-fidelity. Hasil perancangan meliputi desain sistem FindIt dengan fitur utama login, pencarian buku, panduan navigasi AR ke lokasi rak saat meminjam, dan proses pengembalian mandiri berbasis AR. Sistem FindIt yang dirancang ini menawarkan solusi inovatif untuk meningkatkan pengalaman pemustaka, mengurangi kecemasan pencarian, serta mengefisienkan layanan sirkulasi perpustakaan secara mandiri melalui teknologi AR yang interaktif.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to explore the motivation for using the Connected Papers platform as a smart solution in the search for scientific literature. In the ever-evolving information age, researchers are often faced with the challenge of finding and organizing relevant literature. The research method uses a qualitative method by collecting data through interviews and surveys to students of S1 Library Science UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, and students who utilize the Connected Papers Platform, active users of Connected Papers among students and researchers. The research subjects were 8 students from 100 students of the 2021 S1 Library Science Study Program of UIN Ar-Raniry Banda who utilized the Connected Papers Platform. The object of the research is Library Science students of the class of 2021 who utilize the Connected Papers Platform. Data analysis techniques are carried out through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that students of the library science study program of UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh have experienced ease of access, efficiency in finding literature, and the ability to see the relationship between research as the main motivation. In addition, the platform is also considered a tool that supports the process of analyzing and synthesizing information, which is very important in the preparation of literature reviews. This finding is expected to provide insight for researchers and academics in utilizing modern technology to improve the quality of research and scientific development.
