Abstract

Kemampuan literasi membaca siswa Indonesia masih tergolong rendah, hal tersebut dibuktikan dari rendahnya skor membaca Indonesia dalam Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022. Penelitian ini melakukan studi terhadap Program Penguatan Literasi (PPL) di Sekolah Dasar (SD) Karakter Depok, Jawa Barat. PPL merupakan bentuk dari Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi membaca siswa. Studi ini merupakan studi kualitatif dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PPL di SD Karakter berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dari hasil Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM) SD Karakter pada tahun ajaran 2022-2023 yang meningkat dari tahun ajaran sebelumnnya. PPL menekankan pentingnya menulis jurnal sebagai elemen kunci dalam pengembangan literasi siswa, memberikan kebebasan siswa untuk berekspresi, menuangkan ide kreatif, dan meningkatkan kemampuan literasi membaca siswa. Program PPL di SD Karakter dapat dijadikan rujukan dan contoh untuk sekolah lain dalam membuat kegiatan Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) demi meningkatkan kemampuan literasi membaca siswa sekolah dasar

Abstract

Self-awareness is a person's ability to accept and understand their strengths and weaknesses so that they can develop their potential. Self-assessment is a tool that can be used to assess one's level of self-awareness. This research seeks to explore how 6-7-year-old students' awareness of themselves in assessing certain behaviors. The purpose of this study is to identify the application of self-assessment in character pillar activities in grade 1 students at SD Karakter, analyze students' perceptions of self-attitude and behavior on the tested character development aspects, and make recommendations for effective self-assessment development strategies to increase students' self-awareness. This study used a descriptive quantitative method with probability systematic sampling on 30 participants. The results show that self-assessment can measure students' self-awareness regarding generous, helpful, and cooperative attitudes and behaviors. Students and parents felt changes in behavior after the character pillar activities. Cooperation is the pillar concept that most often appears in students. This research proves that self-assessment can be used as a tool for student self-evaluation. Teachers can develop effective learning strategies based on students' self-assessment results.

Abstract

Learning motivation is the overall driving force within student that intiates learning activities, ensures the continuity of these activities, and provides direction to learning activities so that the objectives desired by the subject can be achieved. In elementary school, learning motivation becomes an important factor influencing students’ academic success and personal development. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the learning motivation of fourth grade students at SDS Unwanus Saadah. This study uses a qualitative case study approach. This approach allows the researcher to gain an in-depth understanding of the issues being studied through various data collection techniques, including structured interviews and FGD. The number of students involved in this study was six students. The collected data were then reduced through a coding process and conclusions were drawn to identify key themes. The results showed that both intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors influence students’ learning motivation, both positively and negatively. This study is expected to provide deeper insights into the factors that affect students’ learning motivation and offer suggestions for the development of more motivating pedagogical strategies and school environment.

Abstract

The significance of education in the contemporary world cannot be overstated, as it plays a pivotal role in shaping a high-quality society. Exploring the theory of Excellence in Public Relations is at the heart of this research. The study delves into the intricate dynamics between organizations and their communities, examining the various communication functions and objectives that underpin these relationships. This study employs a post-positivist paradigm, adopting a qualitative approach and a case study methodology. The author conducts observations, interviews, and documentation to gather information about the individuals involved. The research was conducted through the presentation of data and the formulation of conclusions. The findings indicated that this study applied three specific models, namely Public Information, Two Way Symmetric, and Two Way Asymmetric, out of the four models proposed by the theory. Public relations effectively communicated with the community through various activities such as charity events, open house events, and blood donation events. The research concludes that Kinderfield's community relations activities, conducted by its Public Relations department, have resulted in a positive image for Kinderfield. This achievement has led to the establishment of Kinderfield as a trustworthy school in the eyes of the community, making it a preferred choice for parents seeking an educational institution for their children.

Abstract

Early childhood teacher competency ensures high-quality programs and fosters student development. This competency comprises four key aspects: pedagogical, personality, social, and professional skills. However, Indonesia still lacks a psychometrically validated, perception-based competency scale that fully aligns with both national policy standards and internationally recognised frameworks. To address this gap, this research aimed to develop a self-inventory model of teacher competency. A 60-item questionnaire was sent to 249 early childhood teachers. Construct validity was examined using Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analyses. Convergent validity was confirmed by significant factor loadings, Composite Reliability, and Average Variance Extracted values. Criterion-related validity was supported by positive correlations with established measures of creative adaptability, perceived social support, teacher efficacy, and work engagement scale. The final analysis identified seven teacher competency dimensions. This scale also correlates with the other four measuring instruments. Analysis of Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient, Composit Reliability Value, and Average Variance Extract assessed reliability. The scale was refined to 45 valid items. This was followed by Measurement Invariance with Multigroup Confirmatory Factor Analysis, to evaluate potential differences in perceptions among groups categorised by educational background and teaching experience in their comprehension of the item questionnaire. The results revealed no significant differences in perceptions across either group type regarding the measuring instrument. This new scale is expected to enhance future research, educator training, and the quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

Pengetahuan guru mengenai teori dan praktik pendidikan bagi anak usia dini merupakan hal mendasar yang harus dikuasai guru PAUD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan kompetensi guru PAUD mengenai teori dan praktik dalam pendidikan anak usia dini. Penelitian ini adalah studi kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara semi terstruktur kepada enam orang guru PAUD yang mengajar anak usia 5-6 tahun. Wawancara dilakukan untuk menggali informasi dari partisipan. Hasil wawancara dianalisis untuk mencari gambaran kompetensi pedagogik guru PAUD. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik pada guru PAUD belum maksimal karena pengetahuan mengenai teori pendidikan anak usia dini masih kurang. Temuan lain menunjukkan bahwa latar belakang pendidikan serta pengalaman mengajar guru PAUD memiliki pengaruh terhadap kompetensi guru dalam menerapkan atau mempraktikkan pembelajaran anak usia dini yang sesuai. Implikasi hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan untuk meningkatkan kualitas kompetensi guru PAUD.
