Abstract

Abstract

The significance of education in the contemporary world cannot be overstated, as it plays a pivotal role in shaping a high-quality society. Exploring the theory of Excellence in Public Relations is at the heart of this research. The study delves into the intricate dynamics between organizations and their communities, examining the various communication functions and objectives that underpin these relationships. This study employs a post-positivist paradigm, adopting a qualitative approach and a case study methodology. The author conducts observations, interviews, and documentation to gather information about the individuals involved. The research was conducted through the presentation of data and the formulation of conclusions. The findings indicated that this study applied three specific models, namely Public Information, Two Way Symmetric, and Two Way Asymmetric, out of the four models proposed by the theory. Public relations effectively communicated with the community through various activities such as charity events, open house events, and blood donation events. The research concludes that Kinderfield's community relations activities, conducted by its Public Relations department, have resulted in a positive image for Kinderfield. This achievement has led to the establishment of Kinderfield as a trustworthy school in the eyes of the community, making it a preferred choice for parents seeking an educational institution for their children.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between a sense of calling and work engagement among Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers in Indonesia, underscoring the pivotal role of teachers in the educational transformation of the 21st century. A non-experimental, quantitative approach using correlational research methods was employed. Data were collected from 355 ECE teachers across Indonesia using the Early Childhood Teachers' Calling Scale (ECTCS) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) to measure their sense of calling and work engagement, respectively. Spearman correlation, Mann–Whitney U, and Kruskal–Wallis tests were conducted for statistical analysis. The results showed a significant positive association between the sense of calling and work engagement among ECE teachers (r = 0.60, p < 0.0001). Specifically, higher levels of calling were associated with increased work engagement. The presence of family members in the teaching profession did not significantly affect teachers' sense of calling or work engagement (p = 0.07 > 0.05). The study revealed significant generational differences in calling and work engagement among ECE teachers, with notable variations across Generations X, Y, and Z. These findings contribute to understanding the factors influencing teachers' work engagement and highlight the importance of calling in educational settings. The results suggest that fostering a sense of calling could effectively enhance ECE teachers' work engagement, potentially improving educational outcomes and retention rates. However, the study's geographical focus on Indonesia may limit the generalizability of the findings to other cultural contexts. The results emphasize how intrinsic motivation shapes teacher engagement and commitment, suggesting implications for professional development and retention strategies. Future research should include longitudinal studies, broader geographic sampling, and investigations into interventions that strengthen teachers' sense of calling. This study contributes to the literature by emphasizing the role of intrinsic motivation in ECE teacher engagement, providing a foundation for future research in this critical educational domain.

Abstract

This study explores the intersection between spiritual ecology and indigenous wisdom as foundational elements for sustainable environmental practices in Indonesia. The research aims to address the underexplored integration of cultural and spiritual values within modern environmental policies by demonstrating how traditional ecological knowledge and spiritual beliefs foster pro-environmental behaviour. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with four individuals actively engaged in conservation work across non-profit, indigenous, household, and educational sectors. Thematic analysis was used to identify key motivational patterns rooted in religious responsibility, spiritual reflection, gratitude for nature, and concern for future generations. The findings reveal that spiritual and indigenous values serve as intrinsic drivers of ecological behaviour, aligning with the Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual (BPSS) framework. These values are translated into practical conservation efforts, such as forest protection, biodiversity preservation, and environmental education. The study suggests that the incorporation of indigenous spirituality into environmental governance can produce culturally grounded, ethically robust sustainability models. The originality of this research lies in its empirical linkage between lived spiritual experiences and policy-oriented environmental practices, offering a transdisciplinary perspective that bridges scientific rationality with cultural relevance.
