Abstract

This study aims to explore curriculum innovation in language teaching, focusing on the integration of language development and academic content, and to assess its impact on student engagement and learning outcomes. The research employs a literature review method, analyzing various academic sources that discuss curriculum innovation in language teaching. These sources include peer-reviewed articles that focus on issues related to curriculum design, language integration, and cultural considerations. The findings of the study indicate that an integrated approach that combines language development with academic content can enhance student engagement and overall learning outcomes. The integration of culture into the curriculum is also found to be crucial for building linguistic and cultural awareness among students. However, implementing curriculum changes requires careful planning and ongoing support for educators and students. The study emphasizes the need for a balance between innovation and stability in language teaching to ensure that the changes made genuinely improve the student learning experience and prepare them for the challenges of an increasingly complex world.

Abstract

This research was conducted as a classroom action research project with the aim of enhancing the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at MI Hidayatussibyan in Krangseng District, Indramayu Regency. The research utilized the discovery learning method, supported by the use of comic strip media. The main objective of this study was to benefit various stakeholders involved in the learning process, particularly in the Indonesian language subject. These stakeholders included teachers, students, schools, communities, and the wider education community. The research followed a classroom action research approach, consisting of two cycles that encompassed planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The study took place at MI Hidayatussibyan during the 2021/2022 academic year, with a sample of 28 fourth-grade students as the focus of the research. Data collection was carried out through observation and documentation. Therefore, this research not only contributed to the advancement of learning methods but also provided valuable insights for educational practitioners and individuals involved in the learning process at the school.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran project based learning dan mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas. Populasi penelitian ini seluruh siswa di MI Uswatun Hasanah tahun pelajaran 2021-2022. Dengan sampel adalah kelas IV yang berjumlah 20 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi, lembar tes dan RPP. Berdasarkan hasil data diperoleh hasil observasi siklus I dengan presentase 72% dan siklus II dengan presentase 97%. Sedangkan hasil belajar siswa dari siklus I dengan rata-rata 57,5 dengan presentase 50% dan pada siklus II dengan rata-rata 76,5 dengan presentase 85%. Dengan demikian dapat dinyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran Project Based Learning efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika materi KPK dan FPB pada siswa kelas IV MI Uswatun Hasanah tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Berdasarkan analisis data hasil observasi dan hasil belajar siswa terbukti bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Kata kunci: Hasil belajar, model Project Based Learning, kelas IV.
