Abstract

Writing skills are an important aspect in developing a person's communication skills. However, the writing process does not only involve linguistic aspects, but also deep cognitive aspects. One factor that is often overlooked but has a significant influence on writing ability is bilingualism. This article aims to explore the influence of bilingualism on cognitive abilities in writing skills. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method through data analysis through a literature review of relevant previous research regarding the influence of bilingualism on cognitive abilities in writing skills. The study results show that there is a strong relationship between bilingualism and cognitive abilities in writing skills. Someone who is strong bilingual tends to show better cognitive abilities in building arguments, organizing ideas, and organizing information effectively in their writing. In addition, awareness of language structure and wider vocabulary is also a characteristic of participants who are good bilinguals. These findings provide in-depth experience regarding the role of bilingualism in the development of writing skills, as well as its implications in the context of education and language learning.

Abstract

The structural approach has been widely used by researchers to reveal the implied meaning in a literary work. Drama as a literary genre is built by physical elements that bind each other into one complete story so that it can be acted out in a drama performance. This research aims to analyze the structure of the drama script "Operasi" by Putu Wijaya. A structural approach is used to identify and describe the intrinsic elements that make up the entire text of a drama script. The elements analyzed include theme, plot, characters and characterization, setting, dialogue, message, and so on. In-depth analysis of a script's structure helps understand how the story is structured, conflict develops, characters develop, and themes are conveyed. This analysis uses a qualitative descriptive research method by utilizing qualitative data and describing it descriptively. The aim of this research is to reveal how the drama script "Operasi" is a reflection of society and current social conditions through the structure of its construction. Apart from that, its relevance to learning in schools can develop a deeper understanding of literary works. This scientific article highlights the artistic excellence of manuscripts and the importance of understanding structural analysis in appreciating and interpreting literary works. It is hoped that the results of the structural analysis of the drama script "Operasi" by Putu Wijaya will be able to add to the literature for further research.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to improve the ability to use formal and informal language for students at SMK Al-Falah Tanjungjaya as one of the strategies for fostering the Indonesian language. In this study, there are several main focuses, namely the use of formal and informal language by students at SMK Al-Falah Tanjungjaya and the integration of Wayground learning media in Indonesian language learning. This study uses service learning techniques and descriptive research data analysis techniques. The steps carried out in this study include (1) conducting guidance on the use of formal and informal language at SMK Al-Falah Tanjungjaya, (2) analyzing the data results from the guidance, (3) classifying the data results from the guidance, (4) interpreting the data results from the guidance, and (5) developing and concluding the results of the guidance data analysis. The results of the data analysis indicate that the use of Wayground can help improve student understanding.
