Abstract

One of the hallmarks of the indigenous custom of luhak Limo Puluh Kota in West Sumatra, Indonesia, is the rompak page custom. This custom involves the marriage of a couple who comes from a different area or far from the bride's nagari location. The groom by custom must deliver to the woman's family some money or gold as a sign of respect and recognition for the bride. The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of the view of al-'adah muhakkamah (objective law) regarding the rompak page tradition in the context of the life of the indigenous community in luhak Limo Puluh Koto. This principle of Islamic law states that if a custom or action does not conflict with Islamic law and is considered clear and valid, then this custom may be preserved. In this study, researchers analyzed the views of Islamic scholars and scholars regarding the rompak page tradition in the context of al-'adah muhakkamah. In this analysis, we examined whether the rompak page tradition is following Islamic teachings or whether there are aspects that need to be adapted to the principles of Islamic law. This study has relevance and significance in understanding the suitability of the rompak page tradition with Islamic teachings in luhak Lima Puluh Kota.

Abstract

In Islam, understanding the aurat and ethics of Muslim women's clothing is very important, reflecting compliance with religious teachings, the identity and dignity of a Muslim woman. Aurat, which must be covered from non-mahram views in accordance with the Koran and Sunnah, and Muslim dress, which emphasizes fulfilling the requirements of awrah, is not only a religious requirement but also a way to maintain purity and avoid slander. This awareness helps shape the dignified character and personality of Muslim women, and strengthens their identity in society, enabling them to appear elegant without sacrificing religious values. This understanding also supports the creation of a harmonious social environment that respects diversity. Therefore, understanding the importance of aurat and Muslim dress is not only in worship and religious observance, but also in the formation of social identity and contribution to a mutually respectful society. This shows how Islam moderates religious understanding with respect for oneself and positive social development of society.

Abstract

This research discusses the implementation of the RFID ID Card attendance system in the context of salary management and teacher and employee discipline at Darulfunun El-Abbasiyah College. The main objective of this research is to identify how the application of RFID ID Card technology in an attendance system can influence salary management and the level of discipline among teachers and employees in an institution or organization. The research method used is a descriptive method with a case study approach, then analyzed qualitatively to describe the impact of implementing the RFID ID Card attendance system on salary management and discipline. The results of this research show that the implementation of the RFID ID Card attendance system has several significant impacts. First, in terms of salary management, this system allows more accurate salary calculations based on real absences, reduces calculation errors, and minimizes the potential for system abuse. Second, regarding discipline, this system tends to increase the discipline of teachers and employees because their attendance is recorded accurately. This can also reduce the tendency to be late or absent from work for no apparent reason. Although implementing an RFID ID Card attendance system provides various benefits, this research also identified several challenges. The main challenges include the need for adequate training for system users, regular maintenance of RFID ID Card technology, and the importance of maintaining the privacy and security of user data. Overall, this research concludes that implementing an RFID ID Card attendance system can have a positive impact on salary management, discipline of employees, and quality improvement. However, successful implementation depends on a good understanding of this technology, adequate training, and appropriate actions to overcome challenges that may arise.

Abstract

As a center for learning about the Islamic religion, Pondok Pesantren is the best place to read and study the Quran, which is the main source and reference for Muslim behaviour. However, not all beginners who study religious knowledge at Pondok Pesantren have the ability and fluency to read the Quran. The location of this research is at the Pondok Pesantren Perguruan Darulfunun El-Abbasiyah, Limapuluh Kota Regency. This research is a report on the implementation of increasing Quran reading literacy with a recitation program for early students at the Tsanawiyah or Aliyah formal education level. Research on the implementation of this recitation program uses the DOE method, also using observation, interview and continuous evaluation techniques. Implementation is evaluated repeatedly against the targets achieved by students in each semester. The results of the implementation of this program show that the implementation of the recitation program is considered effective in increasing students' Quran reading literacy. This is because the application of the recitation program is very appropriate as an effort to speed up the fluency of reading the al-Quran for students who experience delays in reading the Al-Quran. This report is useful for the institution in particular and the development of Al-Quran reading skills for the entire community in general.

Abstract

This article discusses the Islamic worldview and Muhammadiyah's moderation approach by highlighting the dynamics of mazhab and the progress of manhaj in Muhammadiyah Islamic thought. The discussion begins with an exploration of Muhammadiyah's religious insight which is rooted in the principles of tauhid, ijtihad, and tajdid. Furthermore, the development of Islamic thought in Muhammadiyah is studied through a scientific and contextual approach to understanding texts and social realities. Muhammadiyah's Manhaj Tarjih becomes the methodological basis for making moderate religious decisions oriented towards people's benefit. Finally, the concept of progressive moderation is associated with the development of an Islamic worldview that is balanced between spirituality and modernity. Through this approach, Muhammadiyah not only maintains the purity of Islamic teachings but also contributes to building an inclusive and progressive civilization. This article emphasizes that Muhammadiyah's progressive moderation attitude is relevant in facing contemporary challenges.

Abstract

The next generation of nations, which includes children, will alter the course of global civilization. Since blood links are the primary source of family relationships because they serve as the family's "glue" and "bond," it is crucial to discuss how children come into the world. As was the case in the application for determining the origins of children submitted to the Solok Religious Court where a husband and wife became the applicants and requested that their child be recognized as a legitimate child, but in reality, the child was born as the result of extramarital affairs marry the applicant and enter into an unregistered marriage in which one party is still regarded as being legally married to another woman due to the fact that they lack a divorce decree or a private divorce. This study aims to examine the legal criteria utilized by the Solok Religious Court judges to establish the parentage of a child and its applicability to maqashid sharia. This study takes a qualitative approach while using a descriptive-analytical strategy. Based on the study's findings, it can be said that the legal criteria used by judges, such as marriage laws, Constitutional Court rulings, Islamic law, and the Fatwa of the Ulema Council, are relevant to maqasid sharia and are consistent with the idea of ad-Dharuriyyah on maqashid sharia, which is to protect the soul and the lineage.

Abstract

This article presents a conceptual co-creation model of digital learning between universities and learning hubs in organizing online lectures as a strategy to increase literacy access in underdeveloped urban areas. The background of this study comes from initial observations conducted at Darulfunun Payakumbuh, a community-based institution that has facilitated students from various universities to take online lectures with the support of study rooms, connectivity, and mentoring. In the context of limited infrastructure and learning facilities at home, a collaboration between higher education institutions and digital learning centers such as Darulfunun is a potential solution to overcome the gap in access to education. This study uses a conceptual approach by combining the principles of co-creation (co-initiation, co-design, co-delivery, co-reflection) and the Customer Satisfaction framework, especially the expectation-perception-reaction model towards digital learning services. The discussion is directed at the design of shared facilities, adaptive collaboration mechanisms, and measuring student satisfaction with the quality and access to online lecture services. This study produces a conceptual model that can be used as a reference for further research and development of community-based higher education policies, with implications for increasing digital literacy and equality of access to higher education in marginalized areas.

Abstract

The global shift toward digital transformation has significantly accelerated the adoption of online learning and open education models. However, in an increasingly complex and fast-changing world (VUCA), digitalization alone is no longer sufficient as an objective. This article aims to explore how online learning and open education can evolve beyond digitalization by aligning with broader global challenges, trends, and emerging societal needs. Using a conceptual and literature-based approach, the paper examines how open education contributes to contemporary issues such as technological advancement, sustainability, regional development, inclusiveness, and public participation. In this context, open education is not merely defined by free access to digital platforms but rather as a paradigm shift toward collaboration, open knowledge, and democratized learning. Education is increasingly understood as a participatory and sustainable ecosystem, rather than a one-directional process. This study emphasizes that building an inclusive, adaptive, and future-relevant education system requires the integration of policy innovation, technological advancement, and values of openness. The article provides practical policy insights, implications, and strategic recommendations for transitioning from simple digital educational access to a development and transformation strategy, particularly in developing countries where educational inequality and sustainability gaps remain key concerns.

Abstract

Indonesia’s secondary education system is currently divided into two distinct stages: junior and senior high school. While this structure aligns with traditional education policy frameworks, it has shown inefficiency in addressing Indonesia’s education vision, geographic diversity, resource limitations, and quality disparities, particularly in rural and remote areas. This article proposes the integration into a unified six-year secondary school model as a solution to systemic inefficiencies and quality concerns. By analyzing educational statistics, policy documents, and international best practices, this paper outlines the potential of integrated secondary schools to reduce operational fragmentation, optimize teacher deployment, and strengthen curriculum continuity. Drawing from a qualitative document analysis approach, the article references data from the government records and relevant international practices from other countries. The articles also provide the case study made in Perguruan Darulfunun Payakumbuh. The discussion highlights how school mergers can maximize infrastructure utilization, reduce student retention, optimize teacher allocation, relieve costs, and enrich student learning. Key challenges identified include legal and administrative adjustments, resistance from local stakeholders, and the need for professional teacher realignment. This integrated model aligns with the national compulsory education mandate, ensuring a smoother transition between lower and upper secondary education. The article concludes by recommending phased policy reform and pilot programs to explore the feasibility and scalability in diverse regional contexts across Indonesia.
