Abstract

The production of traditional herbal oil represents a significant local economic potential that can be further developed through the application of appropriate technology and community empowerment programs. However, limitations in equipment, lack of hygiene awareness, and the absence of modern marketing strategies remain the main obstacles in improving product quality and competitiveness. To address these challenges, the Community Service Team conducted a program titled “Training and Practice of Tawar Latih Herbal Oil Production as an Effort to Enhance Skills and Economic Independence of the Ajibaho Village Community, Biru-Biru District, Deli Serdang Regency.” This activity involved two community groups, namely Mawar Merah Group and Mawar Putih Group, with a total of 20 participants, supported by 20 members of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Deli Husada Institute of Health as field assistants. The training was conducted in two stages: theoretical sessions and hands-on practice (learning by doing). Participants learned about the selection of high-quality ingredients, temperature control during heating, the use of the Oil Mixing Machine, filtering and hygienic packaging processes, and digital marketing strategies. Evaluation was carried out through observation and interviews to assess participants’ improvement in technical and managerial abilities. The results showed an improvement of more than 85% in participants’ capabilities related to processing, quality control, and small business management. Furthermore, the Mawar Putih Group, consisting of local youth, successfully promoted their products through Shopee, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms, expanding their market reach. The program also increased production capacity up to 100 liters per day, reduced material waste by about 20%, and produced herbal oil that was clearer, more aromatic, and longer-lasting. Overall, this program effectively enhanced community skills in hygienic herbal oil production, fostered local entrepreneurship, and strengthened collaboration between the community, the village government, and BEM of Deli Husada Institute of Health. This collaborative model is expected to serve as a sustainable community service framework for developing local products based on regional potential and appropriate technological innovation.

Abstract

Kebakaran merupakan keadaan darurat yang dapat menimbulkan kerugian besar bagi manusia maupun sarana institusi. Risiko tersebut juga terdapat di lingkungan perguruan tinggi yang memiliki aktivitas padat dan penggunaan alat listrik serta bahan mudah terbakar. Berdasarkan hasil pemantauan LLDikti Wilayah I Sumatera Utara, masih banyak perguruan tinggi swasta yang belum memiliki pelatihan rutin tentang penggunaan Alat Pemadam Api Ringan (APAR). Untuk menanggapi hal tersebut, tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat melaksanakan kegiatan “Workshop dan Simulasi Penggunaan APAR sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Kesadaran dan Kompetensi K3 di Lingkungan Perguruan Tinggi Swasta LLDikti Wilayah I Sumatera Utara”. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada Kamis, 30 Oktober 2025 di Institut Kesehatan Deli Husada Deli Tua. Pelatihan diikuti oleh 150 peserta, terdiri atas 100 perwakilan dari 50 perguruan tinggi swasta serta 50 staf dan karyawan LLDikti Wilayah I. Kegiatan dibagi menjadi dua tahap, yaitu penyampaian teori tentang konsep dasar kebakaran dan penggunaan APAR, serta simulasi praktik pemadaman api secara langsung di lapangan. Penilaian dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan peserta setelah pelatihan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan 87% pada aspek pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan keselamatan kerja. Peserta menjadi lebih memahami prosedur penggunaan APAR, lebih disiplin dalam menjaga keamanan, serta lebih tanggap terhadap risiko kebakaran di tempat kerja maupun di kampus. Secara umum, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan peserta terhadap pentingnya penerapan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi. Pelatihan ini juga mendorong terbentuknya budaya aman dan tanggap darurat di kalangan sivitas akademika. Diharapkan para peserta dapat menjadi penggerak utama dalam menyebarluaskan pengetahuan keselamatan kerja, sehingga kampus di wilayah LLDikti I dapat menjadi lingkungan yang lebih aman, siaga, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The implementation of office Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in accordance with Ministry of Health Regulation No. 48 of 2016 is crucial to create a safe and healthy work environment. Without adhering to OHS standards, various issues such as increased risk of accidents, health problems, decreased productivity, and high healthcare costs can arise. Therefore, companies must ensure that all aspects of OHS are well-implemented to protect workers' well-being and enhance operational efficiency. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of office OHS according to Ministry of Health Regulation No. 48 of 2016 at the Sembiring General Hospital Office in 2024. This research design uses a qualitative survey method with a descriptive phenomenology approach through the implementation of office occupational health and safety standards based on Ministry of Health Regulation No. 48 of 2016 at the Sembiring Hospital Office. The results of the study, based on the assessment data of office health and safety standard criteria in accordance with Ministry of Health Regulation No. 48 of 2016 and interview data with informants, show the following: the implementation of office health and safety standards was identified as moderately successful with a score of 48.39%, the implementation of office OHS policy was identified as less successful with a score of 34.52%, and the implementation of office occupational safety was identified as moderately successful with a score of 51.01%. This indicates that there are still many health and safety standard criteria that need to be fulfilled or optimized according to Ministry of Health Regulation No. 48 of 2016 on Office Occupational Health and Safety.

Abstract

Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) menjadi aspek kritis dalam industri manufaktur, khususnya pada proses pembakaran kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) yang berpotensi menimbulkan paparan gas berbahaya dan suhu tinggi. Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan konsep Digital Twin berbasis IoT untuk pemantauan pembakaran kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) secara real-time di PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV, Tebing Tinggi. Sistem menggunakan sensor MQ-7 untuk mendeteksi kadar karbon monoksida (CO), sensor DHT22 untuk mengukur suhu, serta mikrokontroler ESP32 yang terhubung ke platform cloud untuk analisis dan visualisasi data. Data pengujian menunjukkan rata-rata kadar CO sebesar 10 ppm, masih di bawah Nilai Ambang Batas (NAB) 25 ppm, dan suhu rata-rata 31,5 °C, lebih rendah dari batas aman 35 °C sesuai rekomendasi NIOSH. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Digital Twin IoT mampu meningkatkan pemantauan K3 melalui integrasi data real-time, analisis prediktif, dan simulasi risiko.
