Abstract

Pembatasan mobilitas untuk mengurangi bertambahnya kasus Covid-19 berupa penyekatan, pemberlakuan jam malam, serta penerapan protokol kesehatan ketika bepergian telah mengubah perilaku mobilitas masyarakat. Sayangnya, perubahan perilaku tersebut belum terdokumentasi dengan baik sehingga tidak terintegrasi dalam penyusunan kebijakan transportasi, dan akibatnya, pembatasan mobilitas menjadi tidak atau kurang efektif untuk menghambat laju kasus Covid-19 di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan metode konten analisis terhadap 193 artikel berita nasional, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi perilaku perjalanan yang dapat mempengaruhi kepatuhan (atau pelanggaran) terhadap pembatasan mobilitas di Indonesia. Identifikasi dilakukan dengan mengkategorikan perilaku perjalanan ke dalam respon spasial, temporal, dan institusional. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya kecenderungan pelanggaran pembatasan mobilitas (64% dari 193 pemberitaan) antara lain melalui pemilihan rute yang tidak dijaga petugas, serta bepergian pada jam ataupun periode yang dilarang. Temuan ini dapat menjadi masukan strategi preventif dalam perumusan kebijakan transportasi di masa mendatang, terutama terkait pembatasan mobilitas walaupun skalanya relatif lebih kecil, seperti pembatasan mobilitas melalui ganjil-genap ataupun penutupan jalan pada waktu-waktu tertentu.

Abstract

Yogyakarta has been focusing its development towards a walkable city through pedestrian improvement projects implemented on Jenderal Sudirman Street. However, the pedestrian improvement project cannot increase pedestrian activity three years after its completion. Therefore, this research aims to identify the factors that influence the willingness of Yogyakarta inhabitants to use the pedestrian paths on Jenderal Sudirman Street after the improvement project. The analysis used a deductive quantitative approach, i.e., binary logistic regression of 150 questionnaires collected through convenience sampling. The study shows that providing lighting, shade, parking lots, and pedestrian path continuity significantly affects walking activities after the improvement project. Moreover, gender "female", car ownership "1 unit", and walking purpose "2 destinations" are users' (internal) factors that influence people's willingness to walk after an improvement project. ABSTRAK Kota Yogyakarta mulai mengarahkan pembangunannya menuju konsep walkable city. Hal ini diwujudkan dengan proyek penataan ulang jalur pedestrian, salah satunya di Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Namun, tiga tahun pasca penataan ulang tersebut, jalur pedestrian di Jalan Jendral Sudirman belum mampu meningkatkan intensitas pejalan kaki. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi masyarakat Yogyakarta untuk berjalan kaki di jalur pedestrian Jalan Jenderal Sudirman pasca penataan. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deduktif kuantitatif, yaitu regresi logistik biner terhadap 150 kuesioner yang dikumpulkan melalui convenience sampling. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor ketersediaan penerangan, peneduh, tempat parkir, dan kemenerusan jalan merupakan faktor lingkungan terbangun yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap aktivitas berjalan kaki. Jenis kelamin “perempuan”, kepemilikan mobil “1 unit”, dan tujuan berjalan kaki “2 tujuan” merupakan tiga faktor individu pejalan kaki yang memengaruhi aktivitas berjalan kaki masyarakat di jalur pedestrian pasca penataan ulang.

Abstract

Walking is the oldest mode of transportation, while heritage cities that are hundreds of years old are often designed to facilitate walking since there were no motorized vehicles. Planning a walkable heritage city is a part of sustainable development. This paper synthesizes studies that discuss the elements of urban form that influence walkability in heritage cities. Using content analysis (n=28), our findings identify and categorize elements of urban form into (1) physical and (2) non-physical elements. Physical elements consist of spatial patterns, structures, and urban designs, while non-physical elements comprise socio-economic factors, culture, and politics that influence urban planning. These findings can be used as a theoretical basis for identifying a walkable heritage city and measuring the potential for walking in a heritage city. ABSTRAK Berjalan kaki merupakan moda transportasi tertua, dan umumnya, kota pusaka yang berusia ratusan tahun didesain untuk memfasilitasi aktivitas berjalan kaki tersebut. Di sisi lain, perencanaan kota pusaka yang walkable merupakan bagian dari pembangunan berkelanjutan. Makalah ini mengkaji literatur yang membahas elemen pembentuk kota yang mempengaruhi potensi berjalan kaki (walkability) pada kawasan kota pusaka. Dengan menggunakan analisis konten (n=28), elemen pembentuk kota dapat diidentifikasi dan dikategorikan menjadi (1) elemen fisik dan (2) elemen non fisik pembentuk kota. Elemen fisik terdiri dari pola ruang, struktur ruang dan urban desain, sementara elemen non fisik terdiri dari faktor sosial-ekonomi pejalan kaki, budaya, dan politik yang mempengaruhi perencanaan kota. Temuan ini dapat digunakan sebagai landasan teoritis dalam mengidentifikasi suatu kota pusaka yang walkable dan untuk mengukur potensi mobilitas berjalan kaki pada kawasan kota pusaka.

Abstract

The Bay of Palu, a central hub for community activities, including tourism, suffered damages and a decline in activities following the 2018 disaster. As of September 2023, the progress of new development is below 10%, and the sluggish reconstruction is influenced by differing stakeholder perceptions. Identifying four stakeholder groups, including local government, the community, traders, and tourists, is the focal point of this research. The aim is to assess the alignment of stakeholder perceptions with spatial allocation guidelines in the reconstruction plan. Using an interpretative paradigm, this study integrates qualitative and quantitative methods through a questionnaire administered to 171 respondents in Palu City. The results indicate a dominance of stakeholder preferences in development expectations, emphasizing the preservation of spatial functions with improved aesthetics. Additionally, the research identifies alignment between stakeholder expectations and spatial allocation guidelines, emphasizing conservation, tourism, and sustainable development.

Abstract

Since its establishment in 1885, Darul Ulum (PPDU) Jombang Islamic Boarding School has a long history of having a socio-spatial relations with the local community. Utilizing a qualitative analysis of in-depth interview with PPDU’s management and the local community, this research found that the socio-spatial relations is reflected in the forms of familiarity and bounded solidarity. These are formed through face-to-face interactions and reciprocal relationships that provide mutual benefits. From a spatial perspective, this relationship occurs due to distance and boundaries. These findings are interesting because there remains only few research on “pesantrens” that focuses on their socio-spatial relations with the local community from the perspective of urban and regional planning.Keywords: Pondok Pesantren, Socio-Spatial Relation, Familiarity, Bounded Solidarity, Local Community

Abstract

Since 2010, the Surabaya City Government has initiated efforts to increase and improve the amount of Green Open Space (GOS). However, the temperature in Surabaya City continues to rise each year, indicating the presence of the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon. This condition presents an interesting case to study, particularly regarding the role of green open spaces in mitigating UHI. Using a quantitative deductive approach through land surface temperature (LST) calculations, Moran’s I analysis, and spatial correlation, this study aims to examine the relationship between vegetation density (as a representation of green open space) and the UHI phenomenon in Surabaya City. The LST analysis results show a significant increase in UHI from 2013 to 2023 with a random spatial pattern. Furthermore, the Moran’s I and spatial correlation analyses reveal a negative but very weak correlation between UHI and vegetation density. This finding explains why the expansion of green open spaces has not yet been effective in reducing UHI in Surabaya City.
