Abstract

Hyperbilirubinemia in neonates is often a health problem that can cause serious complications such as encephalopathy, kernicterus, and even death if not treated properly. Currently, treatments focus on phototherapy, which despite its positive impact, also has the potential to cause negative effects such as diarrhea, dehydration, skin rash, blue baby syndrome, and skin darkening. Massage therapy is emerging as a potential intervention to reduce the need for phototherapy and lower bilirubin levels. Although massage therapy shows a positive impact, it has not been proven to be fully effective in lowering bilirubin levels in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia. The aim of this systematic review is to assess the effectiveness of massage therapy on reducing bilirubin levels in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia. In this review, 127 articles were selected, and the results showed that massage therapy was effective in reducing bilirubin levels in neonates. In conclusion, massage therapy can be implemented in health services as an effective approach to treat hyperbilirubinemia in neonates.

Abstract

Latar Belakang.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of Kolcaba Model Theory in meeting the needs of comfort in neonates with duodenal atresia. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach on two neonates treated in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with nurses and parents, and analysis of medical documents of two neonates as samples. The results showed that neonates' physical comfort was partially achieved with stable body temperature, although there were still problems with vital signs and skin condition, which required improvement in pain management and skin care. Environmental comfort was successfully maintained by keeping the baby's body temperature stable, although there were challenges in the room temperature which tended to be cold. These findings emphasize that nursing interventions based on Kolcaba Model Theory need to focus on improving pain management and skin care for physical comfort. The implementation of Kolcaba Model Theory in the care of neonates with duodenal atresia can improve the quality of nursing care in the NICU.

Abstract

Toddlers are an age stage that is vulnerable to malnutrition. This is due to the lack of understanding of mothers about feeding rules which affects feeding practices. NutriNest application based feeding rules education can increase maternal knowledge in improving the nutritional status of toddlers. This study aims to analyze the effect of feeding rules education based on the NutriNest application on the Nutritional status of toddlers. The research method is a quasi-experimental pre-post test control group with repeated measures with purposive sampling technique of 40 mothers who have toddlers. Respondents are divided into two groups, namely intervention and control. Measurement of toddler nutritional status is carried out every week for 1 month, both before and after the intervention based on BB/TB then converted into a z-score values. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney bivariate test and GLM-RM multivariate analysis. The results showed that there was an average difference between the intervention and control groups of 14.55 with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). The difference in nutritional status of toddlers in the intervention group was seen in the 4th measurement (1 month of intervention) with a p-value of 0.027 (<0.05). It can be concluded that there is an effect of providing feeding rules education on the nutritional status of toddlers at the Cipondoh Health Center, Tangerang City. The NutriNest application-based feeding rules education program is expected to be integrated into health services as an effort to prevent malnutrition and improve the nutritional status of toddlers.

Abstract

Hypertension is a serious medical condition that may increase the risk of heart disease and stroke, and is one of the global health priorities. In Indonesia, many people suffer from hypertension, and they are unaware of the problem because it may have no warning symptoms. So to minimize the impact, a hypertension diet needs to be done. Counseling really needs to be conducted to help increase public knowledge regarding the implementation of the hypertension diet. The results of the counseling showed that people were aware of the importance of a hypertension diet, because this disease may trigger other diseases. Undergoing a low-sodium diet and avoiding foods that trigger hypertension need to be accompanied by regular exercise. The results of the counseling showed that 70% of the counseling participants had knowledge of the hypertension diet, so that the counseling could be said to have been maximized. However, similar counseling needs to be further carried out on a wider scope to generate greater benefits.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to provide nursing care for children with pneumonia based on Florence Nightiangel's theory. This research method is a case study with a nursing care approach based on Florence Nightiangel's theory.  Data collection was done by interview, observation, physical examination and documentation study. The instrument used is an assessment format based on Florence Nightiangel nursing theory. The results of the assessment were found to be shortness of breath, coughing and difficult sputum removal, mild chest wall retraction on the subcosta, pulmonary sound sounded rochi, tachypnea breathing pattern, respiratory frequency 38x/min, there were infiltrates in both lung fields, environmental conditions of the house opposite the farm, house windows and ventilation are rarely opened so it is difficult to get fresh air and lighting from sunlight. There are two nursing problems, namely ineffective airway clearance, and ineffective family health management. The interventions carried out are based on SLKI and SIKI. After three days of nursing care, it was concluded that the top two nursing problems were partially solved. It is expected that nurses are able to provide and improve the quality of service in providing nursing care based on the Florence Nightiangel approach.
