Abstract

For some individuals, the process of learning English may seem complex. Within academic settings, students continue to encounter challenges while acquiring proficiency in the English language. Teachers, as educators, should demonstrate ingenuity in selecting the optimal approach to language instruction. Utilizing learning tactics that are less enjoyable or potentially tedious does not enhance students' English proficiency; rather, it just induces feelings of boredom and lethargy, discouraging their motivation to study. The key aspect is that students get pleasure from each learning endeavor as an enjoyable experience. It might enhance the pupils' sense of comfort throughout the learning process. Engaging educational activities will effectively enhance pupils' English proficiency in a natural manner. It aids pupils in alleviating stress while studying. Hence, the methods of instruction should be meticulously crafted and tailored to meet the specific requirements of the pupils. The piece of writing focuses on the researcher’s viewpoint about enjoyable methods for acquiring English language skills. This article outlines some enjoyable methods for acquiring proficiency in the English language. The pupils might get pleasure from studying English.

Abstract

English is an essential skill that must be acquired. It is a globally understood language that facilitates communication between individuals from different countries. There are several methods to achieve proficiency in English; one of them is via reading literature. A textbook serves as both a tool and a means of acquiring knowledge. Reading is a fundamental ability. Interpretation is the cognitive ability or process of extracting meaning or understanding from written or spoken communication. Today, technology is advancing swiftly, making tasks more convenient than ever before. Individuals are no longer need to actively pursue knowledge or be concerned about being in a secluded location devoid of libraries and bookshops. The data was readily accessible on our display, often at no expense, presented in a numerical format. E-books, internationally recognized as digital publications, are texts presented in a digital format. Although they may include graphics and graphs to some extent, their forms mostly make them text-oriented. The findings of the study shows that several benefits to using electronic books, but there are also drawbacks associated with them. However, the process of learning involves acquiring knowledge and effectively using it. The origin of knowledge is boundless; it may arise from any source, at any moment, and include any subject matter.

Abstract

The coronavirus caused the global effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, which began in early 2020. Due to the emergence of various infectious illnesses, it is essential for medical students to possess the skills to investigate and treat them. Therefore, it is essential for medical students to peruse the materials provided by the World Health Organisation in order to get a comprehensive understanding of the many symptoms associated with the recently emerged illness, as well as the need for early detection and prevention. Hence, the objective of this study is to emphasise the significance of medical students engaging with novel sources of information and how their proficiency in doing so, whether effective or ineffective, is contingent upon their reading comprehension strategies. Many medical students globally lack sufficient understanding of the recommended infection control practices. Their reading impairments also hindered their comprehension of their medical condition, resulting in delayed diagnosis and inadequate use of preventive medications. The study findings show that, due to the limited scope of medical education programmes, the curriculum for medical colleges did not provide comprehensive instruction on reading comprehension techniques. Currently, there is a lack of comprehensive academic literacy training for medical research in these curricula. Thus, anyone pursuing a medical education should acquire knowledge by studying the resources provided by the World Health Organisation.

Abstract

Social media platforms play a vital role in the modern world, facilitating a variety of activities such as disseminating information, social networking, accessing online resources, advertising, marketing, and education. Businesses benefit from social media platforms, which offer a stable, regular, and speedy platform for various strategies, including internet marketing. The term social media marketing refers to the use of social media websites for promotional objectives. Social media marketing has made it possible for businesses to interact with particular target groups in a quick and effective way. This is a significant advancement for businesses. In addition, there are a number of challenges that social media marketing must conquer in order to operate successfully in the sector. This article will analyse both the good and bad elements of social media branding in the context of the current digital age. The objective of this study is to investigate both of these aspects. The review findings focus on different activities that are not traditional and might be of assistance to students in appropriately dealing with the experiences that they have had throughout their lives.

Abstract

This study addresses the challenges faced by English lecturers at the College of Basic Education at Halabja University, Kurdistan, aiming to contribute insights that can inform improved regulations and enhance English Language Teaching (ELT) at the university. The data collected via semi-structured interviews was subjected to thematic analysis, and five English lecturers participated. The results of this study focus on the obstacles encountered by English instructors, exploring themes such as student motivation, language competence, class size, time constraints, and inadequate facilities. The study underscores the need for targeted interventions to address these challenges and improve the overall quality of ELT. Based on the findings, specific recommendations include implementing motivational strategies in the classroom, providing additional language support resources for students, reducing class sizes where possible, allowing more preparation time for lecturers, and upgrading classroom facilities and teaching materials. The findings highlight English lecturers' intricate issues, emphasize the necessity for institutional and governmental support to facilitate a more conducive teaching and learning environment, and reveal significant challenges, including students' lack of motivation, linguistic proficiency issues, difficulties managing large classes, time constraints, and insufficient teaching resources

Abstract

Storytelling is a well-established means of social interaction, and a wealth of studies has shown its effectiveness as a teaching technique for improving language skills in first (L1) and second (L2) language development, regardless of the age or background of the learners. Furthermore, it is said that storytelling is a more effective method of teaching languages than traditional teaching materials like textbooks. Research generally suggests that the reason storytelling works so well is because it is entertaining, interesting, and very memorable. This makes students want to hear more stories and gets them talking, writing, and reading about them. However, the research that has already been done and published in the literature sometimes needs more detailed information on the techniques used to measure the effects of storytelling or the exact skills that are developed via its application. Furthermore, the vast majority of studies neglect to investigate any potential negative consequences of storytelling on language acquisition, leaving us with the impression that it is a teaching strategy that solely has beneficial impacts on learning a second language. The goal of this review of the literature is to provide a thorough overview of empirical research on the effects of storytelling on L2 language learning. It also seeks to contrast storytelling's efficacy with that of other instructional strategies. It also seeks to identify gaps in the current literature that need to be filled up by future studies. By looking at these questions, scholars and teachers will have a clearer understanding of the value of storytelling in language learning environments, which will help them improve as teachers.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) on the speaking skills of Kurdish EFL learners in the Soran Independent Administration. A quantitative research design was employed, which involved two groups of 7th-grade students, which consisted of 53 students from Dilara Secondary School and Hawdian Secondary School. The data were collected through a questionnaire that consisted of 8 items. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ performances after attending CLT sessions. The results showed that the student outperformed in fluency over accuracy, and their grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary expanded. They showed that CLT classes are engaging, the tasks are more real-world, and the classes are more student-centered. Thus, they demonstrated the effectiveness of CLT in promoting real-world communicative competence among young EFL learners in school settings.
