Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of frontliner interpersonal communication in increasing customer satisfaction of Jakarta LRT users. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through observation and short interviews. The results showed that clarity of information, friendliness, and responsiveness of frontliners contributed significantly to customer satisfaction. Most respondents were satisfied with the service received Especially related to punctuality, cleanliness, and comfort. However, there are some areas that need improvement, such as addressing rush hour overcrowding and improving accessibility at stations. The conclusion of this study confirms the importance of effective interpersonal communication in building a positive experience and increasing customer loyalty to Jakarta LRT services.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve students’ understanding of the concept and practice of development communication through a digital education approach. The program was motivated by the limited ability of students to integrate development communication theory with the effective use of digital media. The activity was conducted at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Halu Oleo University, in September 2025, involving 35 Communication Science students. The implementation consisted of four main stages: preparation, digital education sessions, evaluation, and reflection. The materials were delivered through interactive lectures, group discussions, and hands-on activities in creating digital content on development communication themes. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ understanding, with the average score increasing from 61.2 pre-test to 87.5 post-test. Students also demonstrated creativity in producing digital content such as educational videos, infographics, and social campaign posters on sustainable development issues. Moreover, this activity strengthened students’ digital literacy, communication ethics, and participation in local development issues. The digital education approach proved effective in developing communication competencies that are adaptive to technological advancements and societal needs.

Abstract

The inaugural speech of President Prabowo Subianto on October 20, 2024, represents a strategic form of political communication aimed at conveying the direction of government policies at the beginning of his administration. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and functions of political communication within the speech. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using content analysis of President Prabowo Subianto’s inaugural address. The results indicate that the characteristics of political communication in the speech reflect a one-way communication model combined with a strong rhetorical style, emphasizing national unity, economic development, and the strengthening of national defense and security. President Prabowo acts as an elite political communicator who functions as both a policymaker and a public opinion leader. Functionally, the speech serves to inform the public, justify and support governmental policies, build political legitimacy, and initiate dialogue between the government and citizens. Moreover, in the context of international relations, the speech helps construct Indonesia’s political image as a decisive, inclusive, and progressive nation.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital, khususnya media sosial, membuka peluang luas bagi mahasiswa untuk membangun personal branding. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas media sosial Instagram dalam membangun personal branding mahasiswa Program Studi Jurnalistik Universitas Halu Oleo, dengan menggunakan teori Uses and Effect yang menjelaskan hubungan antara media, pengguna, audiens, serta efek interaksi yang ditimbulkan. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan fitur Instagram yaitu postingan, cerita, dan reels secara konsisten mampu membantu mahasiswa memperkuat citra dirinya. Akun @muflhridha membangun personal branding sebagai videographer, @rahmatas_ sebagai photographer, dan @arzerou sebagai public speaker. Postingan mereka menciptakan identitas visual yang konsisten, cerita membangun kedekatan dan kesan autentik, sedangkan reels memperluas jangkauan audiens dan menunjukkan kreativitas. Efek positif juga dirasakan oleh para pengikut, seperti munculnya rasa terinspirasi, keinginan membangun branding serupa, hingga meningkatnya interaksi dan apresiasi. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa Instagram berperan signifikan dalam membentuk dan memperkuat personal branding mahasiswa di era digital.Kata kunci: Instagram; Personal Branding; Mahasiswa Jurnalistik
