Abstract

The internet of things is a concept or program where an object has the ability to transmit or send data over a network without using the help of computer devices and humans. The internet of things or often called IoT is currently experiencing a lot of development. The introduction of an Arduino-based Internet of Things (IOT) system at SMA Negeri 1 Brebes helped students there to develop the system. We here want to introduce students to how Arduino functions in today's modern era. Apart from function, we also introduce how Arduino works and how to operate Arduino in a school environment. One example that Arduino can use in a school environment is attendance by detecting faces or you can use the retina of the eye. There are many examples that can be taken from case studies on the use of Arduino which can be applied to the SMA Negeri 1 Brebes school environment. The introduction of Arduino has many benefits for students at the school, because students can have many ideas that can be developed to make their school more modern or can also create works which will then be published to introduce their school to the wider community. . Students can have lots of ideas that they want develop and also because the equipment used in making the Arduino system is very affordable. Apart from Arduino's affordable price, finding equipment is not that difficult, because there are lots of people who sell Arduino equipment widely, either offline in computer shops or even online, which is sold freely.

Abstract

The introduction of the Arduino-based Internet Of Things (IOT) system at Brebes 1 Public High School helped the students there to develop the system. Abstract

The rapid development of technology and information, particularly the use of the internet, has driven changes in various fields, including digital literacy. However, literacy levels in some regions of Indonesia, such as Tegal, Kabupaten Tegal, remain low. This situation is caused by several factors, including the lack of support from the Tegal Village Government in promoting a literacy culture, both through policies and the provision of infrastructure such as village libraries. Additionally, the community perceives literacy as important only for children and teenagers who are pursuing education, rather than a part of everyday culture. The lack of socialization and outreach by academics and educational institutions to the community also exacerbates this condition. In fact, digital literacy is an essential skill for accessing, understanding, and using information wisely in the digital era. Therefore, raising awareness of the importance of digital literacy through more inclusive policies, the provision of infrastructure, and the active role of the community and academics is key to improving literacy in the Tegal region

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji peran penting literasi pemrograman mikrokontroler dalam proyek Internet of Things (IoT) dan bagaimana penggunaan simulator Wokwi dapat meningkatkan literasi tersebut. Keterampilan pemrograman mikrokontroler merupakan elemen krusial dalam pengembangan perangkat IoT, namun masih banyak tantangan yang dihadapi, terutama oleh mahasiswa yang baru mengenal bidang ini. Kendala berupa keterbatasan perangkat keras fisik, biaya, dan infrastruktur laboratorium menjadi hambatan utama dalam pembelajaran. Wokwi, sebagai simulator mikrokontroler, menawarkan solusi dengan menyediakan lingkungan virtual yang memungkinkan simulasi dan pengujian kode tanpa risiko kerusakan perangkat keras. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengisi kesenjangan pengetahuan mengenai efektivitas Wokwi dalam meningkatkan literasi pemrograman mikrokontroler. Hasil yang diharapkan adalah peningkatan keterampilan pemrograman praktis mahasiswa serta pengembangan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis simulasi yang lebih mendalam. Implikasi penelitian ini membuka peluang integrasi simulator serupa dalam kurikulum pendidikan untuk memperkaya pengalaman belajar teknologi
