Abstract

Proper treatment is needed to control high blood pressure, including drugs to minimize the strength of blood flow. This study aims to obtain information and knowledge related to the pattern of taking blood flow strength drugs in high blood patients located at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital 2023. This type of research is an illustrative study using descriptive design and retrospective data. Research shows the use of high blood pressure drugs by hypertensive patients at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2023 are as follows: Partial accuracy, namely 56 hypertensive patients without complications, right indication 100%, right drug 98.21%, right patient 100%, and right dose 100%. It can be concluded that hypertensive patients at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital meet the criteria for the right patient, right indication and right dose. The description of the use of high blood pressure drugs at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital is: (0.1%), candesartan (46.4%), bisoprolol (7.1%), captopril (8.9%), valsartan (7.1%) and furosemide (3.6%). Then community service activities were carried out with the target of 125 Pharmacy students to increase student knowledge related to the use of antihypertensive drugs used in hospitals. The socialization was carried out virtually via zoom and pre-test and post-test were given to assess students' understanding of the service material. The questionnaire is presented in the form of a googleform as an assessment of feedback on the results of socialization materials issued after the activity is completed. The activity was also filled with responses and questions and answers with service participants. The conclusion obtained is that 87% of students understand the use of hypertension drugs very well, 12% understand well, and 1% understand the use of hypertension drugs enough.

Abstract

The incidence of Tuberculosis (TB) is a health issue that must be paid attention to, especially at the Limapuluh Community Health Center. This health center is a health service center in the Fifty District which experiences a high incidence of TB, with the number of TB cases in 2022 increasing from the previous year. The level of patient compliance with treatment is one of the determining factors for the success of therapy. This study aims to provide an understanding of the factors that influence the level of compliance of TB patients with the use of Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs (OAT) at the Limapuluh Community Health Center. The method of service carried out is in the form of communication, information and education related to the use of Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs. The socialization was carried out online through a zoom meeting with the presentation of material and continued with a pretest and posttest as a measuring tool regarding the increase in participants' understanding of the material presented. This activity was carried out on January 06, 2024 at 10.00-12.00 WIB. The results of this service are the counseling material provided to students seen from the posttest results which show that the understanding and increase in knowledge of the participants is good compared to the results of the previous pretest points. In conclusion, students who take part in this activity can further explore the factors that affect patient compliance in taking OAT drugs so that similar activities can be carried out regularly to prevent errors in the use of Anti Tuberculosis drugs.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease or chronic metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels accompanied by impaired metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins as a result of insulin function insufficiency, which can be caused by impaired insulin production by the Langerhans beta cells of the pancreatic gland or caused by a lack of insulin. responsiveness of body cells to insulin. Type 2 DM is often found in around 90% of diabetes sufferers and usually occurs from the age of over 40 years in obese people. Metformin is the most frequently prescribed therapy for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. In addition, Metformin has a very good safety profile and is also pharmacoeconomically beneficial. The research was carried out by tracing the patient's past data from medical records obtained from the medical records unit at the X Sei Karang Clinic in the patient's medical records for 2022. Based on gender, it shows that of the 40 patients using oral anti-diabetic drugs in type II DM patients based on gender in 2022, the majority of genders are women (28 people) and the rest are men (12 people). Based on age, it shows that there are more people aged 34-60 years with a percentage of 67.5% compared to those aged 61-77 years with a percentage of 32.5%. Therapeutic use of oral antidiabetic drugs in outpatient type II DM patients at the X Sei Karang Clinic for the period October-December 2022 is Metformin with a 30% result with or without combination therapy. The accuracy of using oral anti-diabetic drugs in outpatients with type II DM at the X Sei Karang Clinic in 2022, found that the accuracy of using anti-diabetic therapy drugs at the appropriate dose was 83.33%.

Abstract

The incidence of Tuberculosis (TBC) is still a priority health problem, especially in the working area of the Puskesmas Lima Puluh . The Puskesmas Lima Puluh is a health center in the Fifty District which has a high incidence of TB, where the number of TB cases in 2022 has increased from the previous year. Patient compliance with treatment is one of the factors that determine the success of therapy. This study aims to describe the level of adherence of TB patients to the use of OAT and determine the factors that influence the level of adherence to taking OAT at the Puskesmas Lima Puluh . After the selection was carried out, 40 patients were obtained, then the probably sampling method was carried out so that 29 respondents were obtained. Data collection through direct interviews using questionnaires, bivariate and univariate data analysis. The results of statistical tests using the Chi Test showed a significant relationship with several variables including last education (p = 0.001), knowledge (p = 0.003), family support (p = 0.018) and distance traveled to health services (0.010) with adherence taking OAT in TB patients.

Abstract

Background: Wounds are damage to skin tissue that can disrupt the body's protective function and are susceptible to infection. Based on data from the 2017 Basic Health Research, the prevalence of wounds in Indonesia reached 8.2% and showed an increasing trend. One alternative method of wound healing that is known to be effective is maggot therapy using Hermetia illucens. However, the use of live larvae often causes disgust, thus inhibiting public acceptance. Objective: to provide socialization and education regarding the use of maggot extract nanogel preparations as an innovative, safe, and more acceptable form of wound treatment for the public. Method: The method used was to conduct direct socialization to pharmacy students at the Medistra Lubuk Pakam Health Institute. The tool used in data measurement was a questionnaire with a pre-test and post-test design. Results and discussion: Nanogel is formulated from maggot extract with various concentrations and has undergone laboratory tests, showing that the formulation with a concentration of 7.5% has the best particle size and high effectiveness in wound healing. These results are presented and each question item in the questionnaire will be answered by participants. The results of the socialization understanding are 90% of students understand the benefits of maggot extract nanogel preparations (Hermatia illucens) for wound healing. The indicator of the success of this socialization is > 80% of students are correct in filling out the questionnaire with a value above > 75. Conclusion: formula III concentration of 7.5% is a recommendation as the best dose for wounds because it meets the standards of preparation evaluation tests and effectiveness tests. Pharmacy students understand and can conduct further research for wound healing from the biomolecular level

Abstract

Background: The availability of essential medicines is a critical factor influencing the quality of pharmaceutical services and greatly affects patient satisfaction. A lack of essential medicines can worsen patient conditions and reduce trust in hospital services. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the availability of essential medicines and outpatient satisfaction at the Pharmaceutical Installation of Grandmed Hospital Lubuk Pakam. Research Methods: A quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design was used. A total of 150 outpatients were randomly selected. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson correlation tests to assess the strength and direction of the relationship between variables. Results: The findings revealed a strong and statistically significant positive relationship between the availability of essential medicines and patient satisfaction, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.76 and a p-value of 0.0001. Patients who received the required medicines reported higher satisfaction levels than those who did not. Conclusion: The higher the availability of essential medicines in the pharmaceutical installation, the greater the patient satisfaction with pharmaceutical services. Hospital management is encouraged to strengthen the procurement and distribution system, improve inventory management, and enhance communication with patients to sustain and improve satisfaction levels.

Abstract

Background: The accuracy of prescription services is a key indicator of hospital pharmacy service quality. One of the factors influencing service timeliness is effective drug inventory management. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effect of drug inventory management on the accuracy of prescription services at the Pharmacy Installation of Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. Research Methods: This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytic design. Samples were randomly selected prescriptions served. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using simple linear regression. Results: The average prescription service time for non-compounded drugs was 40 minutes and 75 minutes for compounded drugs, exceeding the standards set by the Ministry of Health. Regression analysis showed that drug inventory management significantly influenced prescription service timeliness, with a regression coefficient of 0.45 (p=0.002). Conclusion: Optimal drug inventory management contributes to the acceleration of prescription service time. It is recommended that the hospital improve the stock monitoring system, optimize procurement processes, and strengthen interdepartmental coordination to support pharmacy service efficiency.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection and sexually transmitted infections are still a public health problem in the world and in Indonesia. People infected with HIV are still stigmatized, this happens because the level of education in the community is still mostly elementary school graduates. Barriers also occurred when conducting outreach to the community, because it was difficult to gather the community at the same time with reasons for work, school, or free time to be used for rest. This study aims to determine the implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention policies at the Tanjung Morawa Community Health Center. This research is important to do to find out the implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention policies at the Tanjung Morawa Community Health Center. The purpose of this study was to find out how the implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention policies at the Tanjung Morawa Community Health Center. This type of research is a qualitative research using in-depth interview data collection techniques, informants are selected purposively according to research needs, the data obtained in the research is then systematically processed at each stage to get the final results displayed in narrative form. The results showed that the transmission and authority in communication were good, the quantity and quality of resources were good, employee performance was optimal, fragmentation and SOP in the bureaucracy were good, but participation or the community was not optimal.
