Abstract

Purpose – This article aims to introduce a new perspective in attachment theory called ruhiyah attachment. Ruhiyah attachment emphasizes the role of caregivers as mediators to connect children spiritually with Allah SWT, proposing this spiritual connection as a potential solution to the mental health crisis among teenagers. Design/methods/approach – This paper employs a literature research methodology. The research involves (1) selecting the topic, (2) searching academic databases for relevant articles and journals, (3) collecting data from primary sources (articles and books on attachment theory) and secondary sources (application and implementation studies), (4) analyzing literature to identify patterns, themes, or differences across ten sources, (5) presenting findings, and (6) conducting a critical assessment of ruhiyah attachment as a new perspective in attachment studies. Findings – The research presents ruhiyah attachment as a new perspective in child attachment studies. It emphasizes that spiritual attachment, facilitated by caregivers as mediators, is crucial for children's development. Ruhiyah attachment extends beyond the mother-child bond to include a spiritual connection with the Creator, potentially addressing mental health crises by fostering a strong spiritual foundation in children. Research implications/limitations – This research broadens the discourse on child attachment studies. The literature review methodology allows a comprehensive examination of various perspectives in attachment research. Ruhiyah attachment offers a new viewpoint that may stimulate future studies. Limitations include the reliance on secondary sources and the need for empirical validation of the proposed perspective. Practical implications – Ruhiyah attachment can enhance early childhood education and care by integrating spirituality into attachment theory. This perspective allows children to develop a direct spiritual connection with Allah SWT through their bond with caregivers, promoting long-term mental and spiritual well-being. It suggests that spiritual strength can help prevent mental health crises and encourage moral development. Originality/value – This research introduces a spiritual dimension to child attachment studies, addressing the mental health crisis by proposing ruhiyah attachment as a novel perspective. Abstract

This research explores the implementation of the nature-based learning model in greenlab activities at Kindergarten Alam Bangka Belitung, the first Alam school in the region. The greenlab activities, focused on gardening and farming, prioritize child-centered learning using the project method. The aim is to provide an enjoyable learning experience and foster knowledge through hands-on activities. This nature-based approach also serves as an alternative educational model to enhance early childhood education. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Miles and Huberman’s data analysis method—data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing—was employed. The findings show that the greenlab activities involve farming projects, such as vegetable cultivation, where children, guided by facilitators, engage in the process from sowing seeds to harvesting. This method helps children acquire complex knowledge, while facilitators guide the learning by reflecting on the process. The study concludes that greenlab activities connect children directly with nature, teaching them about ecosystems, conservation, and environmental protection. This fosters environmental awareness from an early age. However, the study is limited to one institution, and the findings may not be applicable to other schools, particularly those in urban areas with limited access to nature.

Abstract

Since 2018, Sharia FinTech in Indonesia has grown significantly through platform-based innovations combining Islamic contracts and digital technology. The development of this industry is influenced by ongoing efforts to harmonize DSN-MUI fatwas with OJK regulations, aiming to enhance Sharia compliance and legal certainty. Through DSN-MUI fatwas (2008–2021) and POJK regulations (2016, 2022), religious and state authorities have worked to enhance legal certainty and consumer protection in the Sharia-based digital finance sector. This study adopts a qualitative approach through literature-based document analysis to examine how DSN-MUI fatwas and OJK regulations contribute to developing the Sharia FinTech industry. The research findings indicate that while fatwas offer normative guidance for Sharia compliance, challenges persist in areas such as financial literacy, technological readiness, and regulatory oversight effectiveness. The findings suggest a need for clearer regulations, improved public education, and more effective use of technology to enhance the transparency and efficiency of Sharia financial services. Stronger collaboration between financial regulators and religious institutions can improve the capacity of Sharia FinTech to support financial inclusion and contribute to sustainable growth in the Islamic economy.
